Rated 10 out of 10 by Zahl I Can't Believe I'm Rating A Fighter 10/10
I am so surprised with this game. The combat is intense and extremely balanced. The story is a great, new adventure for Persona fans.
The only downside I can say about this game is that the story mode features hours and hours of cut scenes and dialogue but only roughly 30 minutes of actual fighting. BUT THIS ISN'T EVEN A BAD THING.
Persona 4 Arena was a good game but Ultimax really gives all of us Shin Megami Tensei fans something we were wanting.

This is a lot better than the first one and it isn't as much of a Square mashing game now that there are more commands and combos you can make. More characters and each of them are unique in their own way. Fighting online in the lobby is probably one of the best things you can do in the game and I would spend hours fighting others online while chatting. if you are a hardcore fighting, then I would pick this up. If you haven't played the first story or if you want to know what happens before the P4AU story, don't worry there is a DLC for the P4A story for $10 on the PSN.

Rated 9 out of 10 by Josuke P4U is a fighter first, a sequel second.
If you have played Persona 4: Arena, you likely recall the lengthy and often redundant story mode which continued the journeys of both Persona 3 and Persona 4 characters. While I enjoy any chance to see a continuation of either P3 or P4, Persona 4: Ultimax has a story that borders between interesting and unnecessary. While it is good to see new characters added into the mix, the story recycles many elements for Arena, changes them (for the better), but ultimately tells the same story that wasn't too groundbreaking in the first place. While this far from ruins the game, Persona fans playing strictly for the story may not feel justified in picking this for the full retail price once everything is said and done. Fans of the series who happen to be fans of complex 2D fighters (or fans of just the latter) will be more than pleased with the changes and additions made to Ultimax. All of the fighters have been tweaked and rebalanced to a degree and have a "shadow" version which brings a new twist to familiar fighters. Without going too deeply into the mechanics, rest assured knowing the fighting portion of Ultimax is vastly superior to that of Arena, and that is a very good thing. Ultimax is one for the fighting fans and the introduction of new modes and layers of polish make that evidently clear. Still, fans focused on the story shouldn't count themselves out entirely as once the initial confusion on how to form basic combos and strategies fades away, there is a lot of fun in mastering your favorite characters from the series and seeing just what they are capable of.

Rated 0 out of 10 by KainLiason More Persona!
Super exited for this game, this game is one of the major reasons I got a PlayStation 3. Well besides Persona 5 when that finally comes out, but I digress. This game is going to be awesome, but we all know that really excited for the dlc characters: Adachi, Marie, and Margaret. I know the exclusive includes Marie and Adachi but what about Margaret will we still have to pay for her? Because I would much prefer Margaret than a Teddie bop bag.

This game is absolutely wonderful and a great purchase. I would recommend to anybody who loves 2d fighters and great story telling. I am really hoping this game series will one day get the attention it deserves. If you are on the fence buy it now!!!

Rated 0 out of 10 by gmaerguy4ever the sequel to the amazing Persoan 4 Arena?.. YES!
The game will pretty much be the same fun as the first game and I can't wait to play it.. though i should mention if your going to pre-order the game you shouldn't pre-order it at Gamestop.. the exact same so called "Exclusive" pre-order content is available at amazon and the Atlus website as well.. and let's face it, the less you have to interact with the greedy, nasty gamestop, the better of we are right?
