Fun WITH friends only.
How ignorant how some gave low scores because you expected this game to be for solo and casual gaming. This is my first review and man is this game a blast! The gameplay is your choice of fast or slow, stealthy or chaotic. It is meant to be played with friends of course and playing it solo is very difficult but definitely not impossible. The devs seem to be neglecting the console users, especially the 360 but that's possibly because consoles are very limited to their performance compared to a PC where if you build it, the limits are based upon your computer alone. Continuing. The graphics are odd but they definitely grow on you. Sounds are great. Not a very big arsenal of weapons but they're decent nonetheless. Things are very pricey but heists give large amounts of cash and fast. Enemies are first play are difficult to go up against like the juggernauts, tasers and distant snipers, you eventually become very aware of how they work and the quickest ways to dispose of them. Either way the game is very very worth it ONLY if you have three other friends to play with. Don't bother if you're expecting this to be a solo experience.
This game is not as much fun as the company makes it out to be. You can only single player. Playing online doesn't work to well. You'll get disconnected from a game withing 2mins of playing. The graphics are not good the joining in isn't good. This game would be for someone who is starting to learn online gaming.
Co-Op FPS ain't dead yet!
First, I'm not going to speak like almost every other major reviewer. Yes, the CPU controlled ai can't pick up bags. As far as I know, there is no offline multiplayer. But, that doesn't mean the game is completely horrible. The controls are really solid, responsive, and easy to get used to, the gameplay plays out well, there is a bangin soundtrack, the gun and skill upgrade system is not like that which has plagued the FPS genre before (COD), and the variety of ways to infiltrate, execute, and exfiltrate are endless. I feel as though this is a bridge between the stealthy elements of small team combat from SOCOM and fast paced shooting from cod. Breat game, great graphics, so on, so forth.
Great online game, good offline as well.
I'll try to keep this as brief as possible. I read the reviews of this game before I got it and a lot of people said the game is great online with a crew of 4, but next to impossible offline with limited AI assistance. I both agree and disagree with this....
At first when new to the game it is definitely challenging to pass most of the jobs with just the AI assistance even on easier difficulties. The first time you rob a bank and get 6 duffel bags of cash to carry out and you can only carry one at a time you'll be cussing your AI helpers for not being able to help you carry anything. Then you'll start carrying the bags 1 at a time out to the getaway van and then head back for more. Somewhere around the 5th duffel bag you'll get killed because you've been exposed and getting shot forever and then you'll blame it all on the stupid AI for not helping with anything.
You'll very quickly get tired of this so you'll either say the game is terrible, or give online play a try real quick before you toss the game in the can or trade it in. At this point your view of the game will likely change completely. By playing with some experienced players you'll quickly learn the tricks to most of the missions and in no time you'll be able to do most of the jobs on the most difficult setting with a good online crew. Once you've learned these tricks it's much easier to go to offline play and do the jobs that before seemed next to impossible.
A tip for those of you that are new to this game and won't be able to play online, don't pack bags one at a time, put all of the bags in a pile then pick them up one at a time and throw them in the direction you're trying to go until they are all in a pile farther away. You can throw a bag of money 40 feet or so, and keeping them and your crew all together allows the AI guys to lay down good cover fire, keeps them close to you in case you get shot they can revive you, and saves a lot of time of running back and forth. It's like leap frog, you throw all the bags 40 feet closer to the getaway van then you run the 40 feet to your pile of bags. Once you get there you start throwing them 1 at a time another 40 feet, just keep doing that over and over until you reach the getaway van then just pile them all in the van. The whole time your AI crew will be at your side laying down suppression fire and allowing you to focus on the bags. You may have to stop from time to time to help them get rid of some heat, but it's way better than running back and forth.
Overall I think the game is great, especially online, and is rumored to have a lot of updates yet to come. If you like small teams working together co-op style to achieve a common goal this game is the best. You can have all kinds of different strategies as long as you communicate with your team.
There are a lot of "game snobs" on this game that if they see a low level person join their lobby they will kick them out right away. But you'll find plenty of people, myself included, that will join the easy level lobbies to find inexperienced people and start showing them the tips and tricks to the game. The best advice I can give online, get in a lobby with someone that is a high level and follow them and watch, don't try to be rambo cuz you'll just die. Follow a good player, cover his back and learn from him, if you pay attention and are an asset to him he'll take you a long way and will show you the tricks to every job on the game. If you try to be a hero you'll keep getting killed, if he keeps having to save your butt he'll probably kick you out of his lobby for, well, being a pain in his butt.
PAYDAY is obvious an original franchise, which leads the developers little to base their game of off. PAYDAY: The Heist was an amazing game, that had no equal in terms of games with Heists. PAYDAY 2... It's Heists are of lower quality but less quantity, the UI and Skill System are poor and lacking, but the abundance of in-game options and ways to proceed with them. There is more content than the original, but it isn't as each quantity. The heists just aren't as creative.Overall it is still a great game for heists (as long of you have four intelligent people together) but the menu and UI could easily be improved, as it is among he worst I've ever seen.
Very fun game, endless gameplay, Buy this game if you love bank robbing games that is very realistic
Great game. Even better than the first.
Definitely without a doubt a good game to play. Even if you've never played the first Payday, you can jump right into this one. The online play is what makes the game though so if you don't/can't play online, this game is a waste. In single player/offline mode, there are only 3 characters doing the heist (you and two A.I. partners) but in online mode (when actual people join your game or you join theirs) there can be 4 of you. That puts you at a slight disadvantage in single player/offline mode. Also, the A.I partners ARE capable of helping you during easy missions BUT with missions of a harder difficulty level, they are pretty much useless, making your task near impossible. (Which is why you need to play with others online) Weapons are able to be upgraded but in all honesty, the upgrades are expensive (especially without a passive skill that decreases upgrade cost) and the effects of the upgrade are minimal. (For instance, you might spend $30,000 on a bigger ammo cartridge for a shotgun to increase your available shots before reload from 6 to like 8.) The masks that you acquire are able to be decorated with patterns and colors (both of which you acquire as well) which is a good touch to the game. Always great to have a bunch of custom masks to choose from. Finally, as for the heist themselves.... you'll spend lots of fun hours playing over and over, but then one day (like myself), it'll finally hit you that the heist selection is small. Even though the layout of the same heist can change (in order to keep you on your toes), once you've played through them all (altered layouts and all), it gets kinda boring. However, there should be DLC being released soon. But that will probably only be new heist at a time. Anyhow, that's my review so hope it was helpful.
Nothing Like it!
How do I begin, wow, this game caught me by total surprise, especially for the price. Saw mixed reviews and finally decided to pick it up and I am so glad I did. The only problem I can think of is that I can't stop thinking about the next time I am able to play. I thought the solo campaign was alright but I am totally addicted to the online multiplayer. Nothing is more satisfying than pulling off a great heist with a few other real life players. From being able to help them back up to their feet when downed to covering them from gun fire while collecting loot, there's just something about being so bad in a world of great rewards!
I Dont have this game yet but i have played it somewhere else and i seen Youtube people play it and i seen unboxings of the collectors edition and it is really good and looks great when i first played it i LOVED it if you dont like it than u should watch videos and gameplays FIRST
Waste of time and money
This game was completely overhyped and a total waste. What a joke! Maybe it could be salvaged if you have some friends to play it with, but for solo gamers this is insulting. The AIs are idiots, the controls suck, I can't find a single redeeming quality in this....thing.
