Operation Flashpoint: Red River
OGP - fantastic, not gonna lie you cant just jump in and know what your doing. It takes some time to get used to commanding your squad. Unlike Rainbow Six Vegas, the war in more spread out in open fields and not in your face. The AI has improved very much so, and they have already pushed a patch through. I love the physics involved with sniping, it brings more to the game then just point and shoot. AUDIO - the sounds are good, though i did have to bring voice up to a 10 and the rest down to a 4 cause i couldn't hear what they were saying through all the music and background noise. GRAPHIX - they are not jaw dropping or anything, but i dont care as its the game play that matters most to me. as we all know you can have a very graphic oriented game, mmmm but the game may suck up to much space and be very short. MULTIPLAYER - havent touched on it yet, so cant really comment.. but co-op is the tizzy!! Overall Game - GET YOUR GAME FACE ON AND GET THIS GAME!!!!
This is a solid follow-up to the first game. There's still some problems in the command issuing system but other than that the game has made a lot of improvements to the game throughout. The best part was being able to change the loadouts for your fireteam to what you want them to use. If you think Call of Duty is one of the best games ever made this game is definitely not for you. If your looking for a realistic war experience with a style like the original SOCOMS then this is definitely for you. The mechanics are good, the graphics are no worse that any new Call of Duty, sound is solid, and weapon accuracy is near spot on in realism ( bullet drop compensation is still great ) and the fireteam engagements are a lot of fun. The only real problem I had with the game was the dialogue, seemed like whoever wrote it watched to many war movies. All in all a great game if you like realistic team tactical war games.
Those that enjoy fast paced action games beware-this game is for those of us that enjoy some tactical action. Being a firearms collector myself I can tell you each weapon is authentic (except the AK-47, which is able to perform a tactical reload despite the pulling back of the charging handle. Pulling back the charging handle after performing a reload in which one bullet is chambered would result in the ejection of the current round, therefore leaving you with 30 7.62x39mm rounds, not 31). Unfortunately the response times are slow and co-op online is terrible because of lag. Often you will fire thirty rounds at a target from the hip at less than 25 meters, only to discover that the dude is still there. Some aspects are unrealistic, such as the dumping of bullets into a PLA Special Operator only to realize that somehow 10 5.56x45mm rounds did not do any harm but instead were blocked by body armor. Other than that it's a great game. Gory, though. A 12.7x99mm from an M107 can really cause some limb lossage.
All co-op no more laggy PvP.
I played OF:DR when it came out on ps3 and loved how real it was but hated the online issues and bugs. The game also needed more of a story but i loved the co-op aspect. This game looks absolutely amazing for people looking to be thrown into a realistic conflict. They are cutting out PvP multiplayer but they are making some cool add-ons. There are three modes that I know of Last Stand (horde mode), Rolling Thunder (protect the convoy), and Combat Sweep ( clear out the enemys). This game will be cool to play with a squad of friends online. I can't wait for this game now.
As I expected bugs exterminated!!!
I bought Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising(challenging game)which had a few noticeable bugs in it concerning your squad members doing exactly what you ordered, this also would lead to your squad members getting shot at times(very frustrating). But, I knew there would be another game done, like any other game out there, there's always trial & error when coming up with certain concepts in shooters, esp. when they're squad based. With Red River, I knew Codemasters would get positive/negative feedback from Dragon Rising. Which would lead to improvements on their next one, Red River. They also went as far as working out the bugs of the movements of your sqd. members, this time they will follow your orders given to them, lol. Codemasters really paid attention to detail with this game here, by observing games like COD & Battlefield, they've decided to add shooter elements from those 2 games to give gamers more of an up & close experience with the enemy this time around. There will also be more war vehicle interaction(my biggest problem with DR)in this game, my fellow gamers this installment of OF will be way better than the 1st & I hope much longer as well & most of all I hope the game still present a challenge for those of us that are ex or current servicemen very familiar with real battlefield/combat experiences!
A Real War 3rd person Sim
THis Game is great. If you are a stright forward COD fan well this game might not be for you since you have to command your team in battle. Which is great makes you feel l;ike you are really in the fight. The call signs that go over the radio to your team sound very much like a real fire fight or air strike. I like the first one and now the second. For me I have to say I am a fan!! Buy if you are looking for a challenge
Way better than the other one. Game is solid. Love the maps long levels so the game isnt to short and the fire team engagements are awesome. The computer is actually pretty good so this game is no walk in the park. Online is pretty sick i like playing with 3 other guys to make up your squad and just do some serious damage!! Overall this is game is way sick and i would buy it if i were you!!!
Dude this game is gonna rock. Heard there is going to be an AH-64 and M16A4s with RIS grips. The new firefight-like mode is looking awesome. Loved Dragon Rising and Elite, and im lookin forward to another flashpoint.
Great for TEAM players!
I loved the firstone accept for the MP lag issues. This is a great simulation type game for the console! The AI is quite smart although my team AI can be dissapointing at times. Have played through the campaign on normal and is true to the military in aspect, jargon and unforunately foul language! This is a great game, and change of pace.... Love it!
Looks cool, but I hope they will fix the problems with Dragon Rising. P.S: look up ''Cereal'' on youtube.com, it's funny.
