I thought the graphics where pretty good. I thought that the controls where very poor because they are not any thing like the game NHL 2K8. I know that NHL 2K9 is going to have upgrades but the buttons took about 2 hours to figure out. I'm not happy how in NHL 2K8 the shoot button was R1 and in 2K9 it was the square button but it was not at all good because do do a slap shoot you need to hold down the square button but he does not move and by the time he is going to shoot the other player takes you puck. I thought the game was pretty good with Graphics because the jerseys looked pretty real. I have never played NHL 2K10 but It seems like for 2k sports with hockey the older ones are better than the new ones. And I think the game has a good feture if you press the select button you get to be the goalie

After playing the demo - over and over - on the ps 3, i must say that they improved a lot of things over last years version. It's good to hear that, to quote a classic video game character 'vibration is back.' People who played that game know what i mean by that statement! They use it well on checking, because if your really rock somebody, it vibrates a lot! I am really impressed so far. No game seems to give the best camera angles for hockey, so it may be the same old same old. Despite that, i'd choose this over EA any day. The sound seems improved a lot also. I am hoping for custom music. If not, hey, the last two games - 07, 08 - soundtracks were awesome to me. Especially '07!

I have always been an EA fan until the last several years. EA has lost sight of what hockey fans want in their games; roster updates don't cut it anymore. The 2K series has always been ahead of the curve when it comes to the hockey games. I will be the first to admit that the graphics are not as nice as the EA games, but the gameplay is far better. EA adds features to their games that have been available in the 2K series for years; play as a goalie, 2K has had that feature for several years. I will have to stick with the 2K series due to the better gameplay and realistic difficulty. EA hockey is just too easy to score. Rent them both and you decide for yourself but I prefer 2K.

This game is not a hockey game 4 hardcore hockey video game fans. like 2K always says, theyre trying 2 bring the fun back 2 hockey, its more of a arcade hockey game. it has good modes including season mode. the bad things about this game is the shootout is not realistic, and there are plenty of times when the gameplay gets choppy. other than that, my favorite part is the intro. I would only recommend this game 2 ppl who just want 2 have fun playing a hockey game. no disrespect 2 EA, cause i like NHL 09 better anyway. i just wanted 2 try this out.

You hit it right on with your comparison corpse. EA hands down, always has the better graphics when compared to 2K, BUT gameplay and a learning AI, with superior gameplay, goalie control, easier controls and just all around better everything. EA has not put out a decent game since 2005 and that was only decent at best. I'll stick to 2k for a while.
