The first basketball game I ever got hooked on was the NBA2K with A.I. on the cover. I mean HOOKED! Then I played NBA Live that year and liked it just a little bit better. Just small details made me convert. Since then I have only been playing NBA Live games. However, I have heard from tons and tons of people from all over that the NBA2K games are far better now. I am yet to play one since the A.I. cover, but think I will give it another whirl. I was disapointed NBA Live didn't come out last year. I had it reserved and everything. One thing I will say about NBA Live that I didn't like, was how when there was a fast break, the defense was able to run the floor twice as fast as the offensive players. Then they lay it up all slow, and the defense comes in like a bat out of hell to swat the ball away. And that's not just during fast breaks either. Really annoying for competative people that know basketball.

Well I was a bit disappointed in the game it really isn’t that great but its fun for a little while but it gets old quick. It kind of looks like a ps2 game but a little bit better. The game play is slow but its fun when you’re playing with a friend but the computer does the same moves over and over. And they have players that don’t normally dunk dunking all the time. Another thing that’s not that good is the shots you cant time then you just press circle and that’s it depending on who its with and if your in 1 of there hot spots that’s what determines when it goes in so if your hot spot is blue and no one is around you chances are its not going in but if its red and no one is around you its most likely going in which I think is bad. So overall if I knew what I knew now about the game I wouldn’t of bought it but its fun for a little while.

to start i was a huge live fan, but the last to games in the series disappointed me. i played the demo a few days ago, and they did a major upgrade on the graphics, it looked promising at first, but the game play doesn't feel as smooth as the 2k series...no shot control, but they did put better dribble control in the game...also i noticed a few little bugs that had to be fixed(like having Larry Hughes completely twisting his upper body to grab the ball from behind him when rebounding).though i gotta say i played 2k7 afterwards and had more fun. i hope this series makes a comeback cause if not, it looks like this time 2K will buy out EA on a sports game. But hey still plenty of time to fix the little things to make it feel more silky. who am i kidding i'm getting NBA 2k8 sorry Live i will miss the good old days when u rocked.
Rated 9 out of 10 by walle45 pretty good
This game has very good graphics and has pretty good controls. The player variety isn't that good including the teams because it doesn't have all the players that are on the real team but when you trade people to the team you like they usually accept it. The challenge isn't that hard because when you jack up your team you can easily beat the other teams even if you aren't that good. The sound is awesome it sounds as if you are in a real game. Back to the controls it is pretty easy to run around but to know how to do an alley oop you need to read the manual under controls unless you always play basketball. The stats aren't that real because Ray Allen is like the best three point shooter and in the game he isn't that good. So overall the game is really good but some things could be fixed in nba 09 and I hope they are.
Rated 1 out of 10 by swad420 poorly made
This game is very glitchy, momentum is unstoppable, the computer is not challenging because they repeat the same moves every time down the court, not enough roster updates online, can't use baseline high camera on orlandos court because the overhang metal structure blocks your view. The gameplay and graphics seem like your playing a playstation 2 game, selecting your team and starting lineup takes a very long time, players step out of bounds often, the refs seem to call random fouls, many players are underrated and some are overrated. Overall this game is worse than its predecessor on on ps2. I would not recommend this game to anyone because it is boring and poorly made, hopefully nba live 09 fixes all the obvious glitches they should have fixed before the release.
Rated 0 out of 10 by D-Money NBA Live on the PS3 is gonna be awsome!!
I think it's gonna be really awsome! The Graphics look really good even though many players don't look completely identical to the real person and the sound still could be a little better. I hope the players really do plant they feet, cuase on previous live games it's like you can just slide you feet all the way to the basket from the top of the key. I saw a video of the shots and they are really like the real time players Also, i hope the AI (Artificial Intellegence are really do make the players intelligent. This NBA Live should be as good as they say, cuase i am an NBA Live fan, and with a PS3 it really should be great. So go get NBA LIve 08 on the PS3 on October 2.

Im a big Live fan but i haven't bought one in a while. Some things that i would like to see is better graphics because 07 wasn't that good. Make the players dribble like they would dribble in real life. Make a better starting line up introduction, please im asking nicely put in all the name brand shoes but do like Nba 2k8 and let us be able to pick our own colors, put a variety of colors not just 5 or 6, and let us be able to change each player shoes regardless who they have a shoe contract with. Have a little bit more cut-scenes. Madden is taking over EA Sports, but dont get me wrong I love Madden, all im saying is ressurect NBA Live.
Rated 0 out of 10 by tyrone aka danielle this is real cause shanii is keeping it real
please let the players handle the ball much better and let them dunk the bal better because in 07 they were dunking it alittle mess up and they dont have that much power when they dunk yall should let the players warm up on the court before the game that would be nice thing for the live 08 and at the end of the game let the best player get talk at let the couch yell at the players if they need help let the crowd get crazy at the end of the game when the homw team wins let the slam dunk contest be way bettter cause nab live 07 look like nba homecourt but 08 need a big step and tyrone and danielle will be looking foward to that nba live 08
Rated 0 out of 10 by LOVE CAPTURE THE PLAYER
I'm am a big N.B.A Live fan, What I would love to see in Live 08 is the actual player. I would love to see Barbosa's speed, Sheed's temper, when coaches call timeout come out to the side of the floor like they do in a game with the team in a huddle. When the half is over player's are running to the locker room, show player's on the bench with towel's over there face, I mean capture the real player when Vince dunk there's no way Mo Williams should block his dunk. On the PS3 Live cost 62 dollars with tax I want my money's worth, the theme for live should be capture the player, bringing the player from life on the court to the video game on the court..

i think live 08 is goin to suck!!!! i hated live 08 because of the superstar players!! it seems as if a player isnt a superstar they dont help the team. The dunks have been the same, the only different dunks are the highflyers and after a while u've seen all of the SPECIAL moves the superstars have, the crossovers are the same and un-effective, the layouts are also boring compared to NBA 2K7. the only thing wrong wit 2k7 was u cant change the jersey numeber, SERIOUSLY, that was the only problem i had with the game, i would get 2k8 before live 08!!
