Rated 3 out of 5 by from First in the Storm As a first attempt at maturing into the 3D world for Naruto Ultimate Ninja this game works well albeit falls short in many areas. The game has a limited supply of characters in comparison to the original last North American (Ultimate Ninja 4) or Japan (Ultimate Ninja 6) which really gives it sort of a stale feeling. On top of limited characters the story focuses ALL battles Naruto did and rarely anyone else. This was also a chance to add NEW characters into the roster who NEVER made the cut Like Dosu, Kin and Zaku. But if this weren't the mistake here would be. They did not allow playable access to the Sound 4, Kurenai, Anko and some others. The mini-games were too repetitive. However it did shape how the series could've been done. The free roam was great but lacked any real substance which could've been improved. The selecting of jutsus for Support as well as your character was a fine touch. The continuous use of the selection of buttons for UJ was definitely useful. The three health bars vs one gives the action more of a gratifying feeling as one bar either makes a battle too short or seem long and damage calculation becomes bantam They kept many mechanic but buying tools and reusing seems tedious. Not the best title for the series but definitely not the worse.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun but Loses it at the Details. This game is pretty fun if you watch the show. You get to run around the hidden leaf village, get into epic fights, and play around with a great fight system. (Except for the fact that the substitution jutsu is pretty important but hard to trigger and when you do it feels as if it's due to luck, not skill) But the big problem with this game is that it seems that the art team got sort of lazy. The game looks great and very close in appearance to the show, and one of the best parts of the game is the beautiful cutscenes. The problem is that many backrounds are reused for areas that were very different in the show (A small and nitpicky complaint) and even worse is that those wonderful cutscenes are very rare. You only see them at the end of a story arc whether that's the best place to put it story-wise or not. And because of the lack of the cutscenes many critical story points aren't shown and aren't well explained. This makes the story not as satisfying for people who watch the show and confusing for people who don't. So if you want to play this game, come for the gameplay, not the story. You'll still enjoy yourself. (I give it a 7.75)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice!!! This game is the perfect game to make Naruto's debut on PS3! CC2 made it look so real and it totally followed the anime. Well, Awesome anime=Awesome game!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best of them all simply put this is the best storm game of them all it may be lacking the characters of the other ones but its fighting system is better than the new ones your not limited in substitution, awakening mode isn't over powered, and if someone gets you with ultimate jutsu then you atleast have the chance to defend yourself via the button sequence that pops up during the ultimate I just wish storm 3 would be more like this. And the free roaming story mode is much better than storm 2 and 10 times better than generations

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm: the start of a legacy I was fascinated about this game. To be honest, I only had an Xbox 360 at the time, and so I started playing the Storm series at Storm 2 and Generations. But once I got a PS3 and this game, I was excited to say this is one of the best games I've played. The story mode is by far in my opinion the best out of the storm series so far; allowing you to travel around Konoha in a way that is free yet much more believable than Road to a Ninja and Broken Bond. Allowing you to relive the Naruto story from the beginning to the end of part 1, it never fails to give you an exciting challenge with its missions and unbelievably amazing cutscenes. The gameplay is a lot different than its future sequels; instead of focusing on your supports to fight your opponent, you have to rely really on yourself, which is a great way to train yourself and learn the game, especially since there are really no long range characters; it's all about getting in close to beat your enemy. It also adds much more gameplay tactics that the sequels leave out; wall-fighting, your partners being able to save you/further attack, Incredible Ultimate Impacts that show incredible close-ups of the characters' faces, the ability to escape an Ultimate Jutsu even if you're hit by one, and fast pace combo action. And the graphics are awesome; Storm 1 boasts of better graphics than its sequels, because the fast movements look much more realistic, as the hair and clothing breath more when characters move or attack. The only downside to this is that comparing all three storm games that are out so far, it takes forever for characters to stand up after getting knocked down, which isn't really a bad idea, but can be frustrating if time is running out. And I'm not going to say how the English version sucks, because frankly, I think that although it's not perfect, it's not bad either. All in all, Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm is an amazing game; have you got what it takes to be the Ultimate Ninja?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best. Game. Ever I love this game and this series. The game has done amaizingly well to create the feeling of actually interacting with the anime itself. There are no elaborate combos which may be a downer to hardcore gamers but the simple controls give an easy feel to the game allowing you to be more engrossed into the actual story.
