Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe
mortal kombat is a cool game
this game is awesome because i like the story mode and i like vsing my friends at it . But we can"t pick that much characters you should of put more characters in it but i stiil like the game.
let people make their own decisions
First, it doesn't matter what people think of MK dumbing down or how mad people are at the fact that there is no M rating what matters is DC superheroes are fighting otherworld characters which fit's perfectly in the DC universe if anyone is reading FINAL CRISIS you'll know what I'm talking about. Secondly, this game is going to rock for two reasons - 1. This is Warner Brothers FIRST licensed game that will appeal to many besides Batman: Arkham Asylum. 2nd Who WOULDN'T want to be batman and beat the absolute trash out of Sub Zero. Third (just thought I would add this) the heroes DO NOT KILL and have brutalities and the MK characters have fatalities you guys should quit whining about a teen rating WHY? Because SUPER SMASH BROS is T and that game is very successful. This is a fighter for the PS3 and XBOX and I think it's going to rock and if you're a superhero fan like me (who doesn't like dark knight or smallville) you cant wait for this game... so everyone stop hating on this game.
Great but not the best mortal kombat game
As a fan of both mortal kombat and dc I never would have thought these two would krossover and never really wanted it to. However the dc kharacters actually fit in with mortal kombat pretty good but theres one problem with the game. Its no wear near as violent kompared to the past mortal kombat games. Cause this mk game is slightly geared more towards khildren and there parents then hard kore mk fans. Its probly the easiest game in the series as I was able to beat it on the hardest difficulty after like the 2nd day I played it and learned my moves but maybe its just me, but the multi player is good and khallenging. Theres also a story mode but its kinda meh it forces you to play as every dc or mk kharacter depending on what side you khoose but the best part about this is the so bad its good voice acting in the kut scenes. Anyway this was a good start for mk or dc on this kurrent gen of konsoles but hopefully the next mk game (which comes out in april) will make this one dissapear into the neatherrealm.
Not a bad start for next gen!
I was skeptical about the game like a lot of people, but I kept my hopes high. Now after playing the game, I'm not really disappointed in how good of a fighting game it is without its traditional violence although it would be nice to have gory violence in it. The story for the game is a bit cheesy but kind of fun and funny to watch. The ones who made the game said that its story is not an official continuation for Mortal Kombat's storyline meaning that this game is just a what-if fantasy. The time-line isn't directly told but from what the characters biographies say, it sounds like it takes place after Mortal Kombat 2 and before Mortal Kombat 3. The moves are easy to execute and most of the combos are short but can be combined with special moves to make bigger combos that look a little impressive. Some special moves can be done two times in a row or can be combined with other special moves. The graphics, although they could be a little prettier, are better than they ever have been for Mortal Kombat and all the sound effects are movie-like; it kind of reminds me of something like The Matrix. Other than the cheesy storyline, bad voice acting, and some un-Mortal Kombat-like music, the only thing the game could use more is more unlockables. The best things about the game is it has pretty good online play, it has good graphics, and it is fun to play with friends.
pretty good game
This game is pretty good, there are a lot of things i like and a lot of things i do not like in this game. First i like the graphics and the characters in the game, i just wish they would have put more than 22 people in this game. The story mode is pretty cool, but it doesn't make that much sense. The special moves in this game are awesome, especially for the dc people. And the fighters get bruises and torn clothing when hit so that's cool. I don't like how there isn't enough blood, they should have just made the game rated M instead of T. So there are no cool death traps like in some of the other Mortal Kombat games. And there isn't enough characters, maybe they will give you more characters as downloadable content. The story is kinda short. And the fatalities are kinda boring since its rated T, they are short and not extreme like in the other games, and they censored jokers fatalities which is stupid, but overall its a good fighting game and i like it.
Not that bad
ok So I got pre order this game last year when it came out but befor that the thing that got me mad was it not rated M it is t what kid is going to play mortal kombat and if they do they would have got it still so that was a big mistake ed boom. (lol) then mortal kombat and dc they look so real in Hd and sd but there maybe about 4 things I don't like about it. the reason why they did not put DLC downloadbel content was that this game did not sell I ask some people I know that like mortal kombat abd dc and they did not get it because it was t rated so they rented it but this game was great I still think this game rocks because super man can fight batman or sub sandwitch or etc. just if some who read this made this game you should put DLC for more charcters like night wing and goro but the unlockable is only two chaaracters one from mortal kombat and on from dc thank for reading bye.
I wish it could have been better
But the MK team did a great job with what they had, seeing as how there is no way DC comics and WB would've allowed for mature content. NO Fatalities is what bother most people, because that is why we love MK. Again they did the best with what they had, and as a huge Mk fan I respect that greatly. Admittedly I only trully wanted to play so I could be Batman. I think the roster could have been bigger on both MK and DC sides, the story was alright but repetitive. All in all the game was good, and if you are a MK and DC fan play it (rent it maybe?). But one thing is for sure the new MORTAL KOMBAT is gonna kick butt, and remind all parents why they hate violent video games. Thank you MK for helping create the ESRB we love the violence, too bad it was not shown in MKvsDC.
Not as good as others
Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe is pretty entertaining. It is fun to play as all these different DC and Mortal Kombat characters as intertwined together. Now this is a competitive world, and comparing this to some other great Fighting Game classics, the normal moves are very few and not very special. It is very easy to preform super moves and it gets boring after a while. There are only two unlockable characters in the entire game (that's why I gave it a 2/10), and it gets repetitive playing through two similar story lines to get these. The storyline is kind of random and not too special. The dialogue is some of the worst i've ever heard. It might be trying to have "super hero" dialogue, but still, it makes the story pretty horrible. My final thoughts on this game is that it can be fun and entertaining for a little while (that's what video games are about right?), but overall it is poor quality in the genre of Fighting Games.
Sad very sad now this game turn out for 6 yrs old kid
I'm a big big FAN of mortal kombat, i am unhappy the way they created this new game for PS3. I thought it would be better but NO! they have to kill it cause it's too good!! DC and MK ? What was that, now MK is for little 9 and 6yrs olds, plus i read somewhere there is no fatality. Anyways i am only going to buy it when it drops to ** bucks or less cause it's not worth it and it's sad for Midway. IF IT WAS ONLY MK Character WITHOUT DC i will buy it for $***, and if it was mix VS Street Fighter i pay $***. TOO BAD!
This game is awesome!
If you like DC comics and Mortal Kombat then this game is great for you. You can play as the most popular characters from Mortal Kombat and DC universe. Wi-fi complatible for people who want to play online too.
