First, it doesn't matter what people think of MK dumbing down or how mad people are at the fact that there is no M rating what matters is DC superheroes are fighting otherworld characters which fit's perfectly in the DC universe if anyone is reading FINAL CRISIS you'll know what I'm talking about. Secondly, this game is going to rock for two reasons - 1. This is Warner Brothers FIRST licensed game that will appeal to many besides Batman: Arkham Asylum. 2nd Who WOULDN'T want to be batman and beat the absolute trash out of Sub Zero. Third (just thought I would add this) the heroes DO NOT KILL and have brutalities and the MK characters have fatalities you guys should quit whining about a teen rating WHY? Because SUPER SMASH BROS is T and that game is very successful. This is a fighter for the PS3 and XBOX and I think it's going to rock and if you're a superhero fan like me (who doesn't like dark knight or smallville) you cant wait for this game... so everyone stop hating on this game.
Rated 8 out of 10 by Yargishner Great but not the best mortal kombat game
As a fan of both mortal kombat and dc I never would have thought these two would krossover and never really wanted it to. However the dc kharacters actually fit in with mortal kombat pretty good but theres one problem with the game. Its no wear near as violent kompared to the past mortal kombat games. Cause this mk game is slightly geared more towards khildren and there parents then hard kore mk fans. Its probly the easiest game in the series as I was able to beat it on the hardest difficulty after like the 2nd day I played it and learned my moves but maybe its just me, but the multi player is good and khallenging. Theres also a story mode but its kinda meh it forces you to play as every dc or mk kharacter depending on what side you khoose but the best part about this is the so bad its good voice acting in the kut scenes. Anyway this was a good start for mk or dc on this kurrent gen of konsoles but hopefully the next mk game (which comes out in april) will make this one dissapear into the neatherrealm.
Rated 8 out of 10 by andyslice pretty good game
This game is pretty good, there are a lot of things i like and a lot of things i do not like in this game. First i like the graphics and the characters in the game, i just wish they would have put more than 22 people in this game. The story mode is pretty cool, but it doesn't make that much sense. The special moves in this game are awesome, especially for the dc people. And the fighters get bruises and torn clothing when hit so that's cool. I don't like how there isn't enough blood, they should have just made the game rated M instead of T. So there are no cool death traps like in some of the other Mortal Kombat games. And there isn't enough characters, maybe they will give you more characters as downloadable content. The story is kinda short. And the fatalities are kinda boring since its rated T, they are short and not extreme like in the other games, and they censored jokers fatalities which is stupid, but overall its a good fighting game and i like it.
Rated 6 out of 10 by Rangornak Not as good as others
Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe is pretty entertaining. It is fun to play as all these different DC and Mortal Kombat characters as intertwined together. Now this is a competitive world, and comparing this to some other great Fighting Game classics, the normal moves are very few and not very special. It is very easy to preform super moves and it gets boring after a while. There are only two unlockable characters in the entire game (that's why I gave it a 2/10), and it gets repetitive playing through two similar story lines to get these. The storyline is kind of random and not too special. The dialogue is some of the worst i've ever heard. It might be trying to have "super hero" dialogue, but still, it makes the story pretty horrible. My final thoughts on this game is that it can be fun and entertaining for a little while (that's what video games are about right?), but overall it is poor quality in the genre of Fighting Games.
Rated 5 out of 10 by Doc H This Game really disappointed Me
I am a big fan of the original mortal kombat series. I feel that this game did not live up to the hype that was brought up by game trailers online. First of all the fatalities are decent at best. I really bought this game looking forward to joker's fatality only to find out that they took it out because it was too violent and graphic. Give me a freaking break gears of war 2 is the most goriest game and kids 7 years and maybe younger have that game. This game has barely any gore barely blood (not like mortal kombats 1 2 and 3). I thought this game was good graphic wise especially on my 40 inch hi def tv, but in all reality that's really about it. Where is johnny cage, reptile, i bought it for playstation 3 and then sold it for ** dollars. To me this game wasn't worth my time and money and i'm really upset. I really bought it expecting blood, blood and more blood and what i got was crap.
Rated 9 out of 10 by gamecrazywnm Something new to the Mortal Kombat challenge
After playing Mortal Kombat of the arcade versions on the PSP and Playstation 2 platforms, I was seeing progress throughout the gameplay. Now with the new generation of gaming systems, Midway introduces its first full-fledged Mortal Kombat game on the PS3 and XBOX 360 that includes the character roster of Warner Brothers DC universe. The DC characters introduced in the game make the story unique compared to the previous games. The game also has a story line that you can play from both sides as the MK and DC putting you in the different perspectives of the characters. While also bringing in the DC characters, MK also introduces Rage Mode,Klose Kombat, Free Fall Kombat, and a Test Your Might added to fighting play. Basically what I can say about the game is that Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe does a fantastic job introducing itself to the next-gen gaming systems that fans would enjoy. With tons of new content, this game would be great for fans, although don't expect it to be as challenging as the arcade versions. In a world where the letter C does not exist, I give this game a 9 out of 10.
Rated 9 out of 10 by superman66233 Not that bad
ok So I got pre order this game last year when it came out but befor that the thing that got me mad was it not rated M it is t what kid is going to play mortal kombat and if they do they would have got it still so that was a big mistake ed boom. (lol) then mortal kombat and dc they look so real in Hd and sd but there maybe about 4 things I don't like about it. the reason why they did not put DLC downloadbel content was that this game did not sell I ask some people I know that like mortal kombat abd dc and they did not get it because it was t rated so they rented it but this game was great I still think this game rocks because super man can fight batman or sub sandwitch or etc. just if some who read this made this game you should put DLC for more charcters like night wing and goro but the unlockable is only two chaaracters one from mortal kombat and on from dc thank for reading bye.
Rated 9 out of 10 by Pastor O Mortal Kombat made a huge comeback... From BC to DC
I must say that I was anticipating the arrival of this game and it was well worth it. I'm an original fan of the Mortal Kombat Age and though I missed the versions after the first edition, this game was well worth it. The fascination between MK & DC must have derived out of someone's wandering imagination, but was well worth it. Gameplay is awesome for kids. Lots of moves, combos and trick plays. It has a built in "move list" with all the moves except fatalities. But, you can search online for those. For the first time, I fell in love with scenery for a fight game. I love the transitioning between screens. No huge lag time while waiting for loading. My 4 & 7 year olds love it also. It has a little less gore than that of the past. Though, I haven't checked to see if it can be increased. Overall, I must say that this game is a keeper. My next move will be to Street Fighter from this one.
Rated 9 out of 10 by JizzFizz MK Vs. DC
Honestly, I remember the old days on the SNES with Mortal Kombat. Yes it was alot of blood and awesome fatalies. Well guess what...MK Vs. DC is just as good without so much blood and toned down fatalites/ heroic brutalities. There is nothing wrong with toning down the blood to get more people interested. The Controls are great, the graphics are fantastic, some fatalities are kinda cheesy but most of the old school ones are still good, the storyline overall takes 3hours for each side to beat but its still great. Online is pretty good too. If your one of those people like I am that don't really go for fighting games unless they're the best, trust me , rent it , you like it then buy it , if you don't, you don't. As for me I love it I have finally been able to do half of the characters fatalities. Oh and for all you people saying this game was going to suck, guess what your wrong.
Rated 10 out of 10 by EDOUBLE Awesome Game . . . MK comeback
This is an awesome game overall, and I don't understand why some people are trashing it. I am a huge fan of the original MK series, but come on, that was ages ago and times are different and so are games and i think MK vs DC did a great job updating MK characters in this game. Even the DC characters are great, love Superman, Batman and The Flash. Great moves, backgrounds and sounds. Fatalities are weak, i agree, but still decent and fun. The game is just lots of fun and i actually love the way the story was made for both sides and how they collide, i think it was very original and flowed nice with the game. The moves are easy to pull off but not so repetitive as other fighting games. Online fighting is great also. I do wish there were more characters, but besides that great overall game. Would definitely recommend to anyone who enjoys a good fighting game and a MK fan.
