Its a bit hard to criticize an already great product but I expected more from them. Picked it up release day and played around with Road to The Show for a few hours. Gameplay was good, but there are some weird bugs that make this lose some points for me. The new analog sticks are really cool once you get the hang of it and the move homerun derby is also neat, but that will lose its steam pretty fast unless they work that controller into the main part of the game at some point. Graphics are great, they never were really bad either though, player models look better this year. To be honest so far this years title is somewhat disappointing, I don’t feel like they put enough into it. Maybe I’m just used to having really powerful updates from Sony the last couple years. This one feels like a roster update with some neat tweaks and a few changes to core gameplay. Some bugs need to be worked out of the series but all in all it’s a good game. This series is one of the best sports games on the market and you can’t go wrong with it if you're a baseball fan looking to pick up a video game.
Rated 9 out of 10 by echomike2 excellent but some flaws
I'm 64 so i manage teams (mets). opposing pitchers have more stamina then mine and all my pitchers take performance enhancing medications, some of my hitters too. any how there are STILL to many foul balls, i know pitch count. when ever i want to sub a hitter or pitcher i 8th or 9th inn. game freezes but i can get around that. sometimes game freezes and have to start over usually simulate and lose. little glitches here and there. On the plus side game play is excellent , Basic baseball fundamentals all there , stadiums are all beautiful. the other day the phillies tried the hidden ball trick of's drop pop upsthere are others but i'm rambleing. I have been playing mlbts sice 07 and madden since 93. keep the excellent work!
ps this my be built in already but at the end of the season if a teams out of it the attendance should be down, that should show in the stands

The simply press x button timing feature it's a blast!. The others zones and analog features are obsolete and from other games respectively. Now you can react to high pitches like in real life, you have to see the ball in other to connect effectively. Even tough the CPU is smarter than before, it cheats even more than before. I mean, the CPU never makes a pitch out, unless there is a real running play. It never throws when there is no reason to throw, when it's unpredictable. I think this "Show" cheat in another facets as well, you can beg for a good online experience then. However the CPU made a few no so smart decisions in the defense as well, and I like it, because I score some runs. Anyway, this the best Baseball game I ever played. I put MVP second to this. I hope EA comes with a big title against this one, if there is another MVP in development.

MLB the show will ALWAYS be the leading baseball video game over 2K every year. Not only does the show have better graphics and all those other things that have made it better than 2K in the past years, but now the show is compatible with the move. Is 2K compatible with the move? No. And I don't know if anyone noticed but this game is 3D compatible. That just puts the cherry on top. I do admit 2K does make better basketball games, but they should stop wasting money on making 2K baseball games for the PS3, because this is just one of the many PS3 exclusives that are obviously not available for the XBOX. For all you XBOX owners, please get a PS3. I cannot stressed it enough through my reviews. And for the PS3 owners who still buy baseball 2K games, how much more convincing do you need? Please switch to the show and you will not be disappointed.

I've played the demo, didnt like the analog but I read where you can still select the old way to hit, pitch, and field so it hasnt turned me away.
My only problem is if like in 10 when your a pitcher and want the pitching view, where every time you turn the game on, you constantly have to change it back to pitcher from outfield view even though you constantly tried saving it as pitcher view, same with the fielding controls were where you had to keep changing it to classic from new which I prefer since the buttons on the control makes a diamond like the field and I dont want to hit square to throw to first when circle always was first for me.
Also the new create player process has me concerned for pitchers, for the way I like to pitch I dont know if the sliders will let me type of dominant SP that I like to play.
One thing for RTTS that I am really happy about is the new player performance evaluator. If I'm tearing it up in AA or AAA and someone above me is sucking more then a Hoover vacuum then I be able to move up instead of being forced to stay in AA all year even though my overall may be better then most of the AAA pitchers or a MLB pitcher.
Rated 4 out of 10 by 7777 Hmm I think I'll stick with MLB 10 for now
Have had this for a couple of weeks and I am not fully impressed. The Graphics and sound is way better the MLB 10 the show. Although the Gameplay is no where good as MLB 10 The Show. I enjoy the name RTTS system, although I find at least 10 times earn attribute points as a pitcher then as a batter. Were as in MLB 2010 is is mainly equal. The main thing that I did not enjoy was the Franchise gameplay. I personally think they took a few steps back this year with it then foward. For example when I played the Franchise gameplay as the Pirates and won the world series with being underbudget by 35 million (which is less the half the available budget) I only recieved 2 million dollars budget increase. Aslo the do not set an goals for you as a Gm in the Franchise mode. Which also does not allow to change teamsafter a couple of years.
Rated 10 out of 10 by Brianbbgun BEST MLB GAME EVER
ok to start off this game is so amazing.the pure anolog is great but can be a little fuatrading when the A.I getting hits off you. Road To The Show is aswome lots of new features. I got this game the first day it came out. The fans are REALLy loud but if only when big stuff happens like homeruns, RBI hits, and Walkoff I could accully SEE them cheer but thats not a big problem. they only cheer a little kind of cheer. if you are playing as the road team you cann see the fans that favor the road team. That was amazing to see this. As soon as the mall opened at 8AM i got and this game is addacing. thers asowme new cutseens as well. I would get this game Whit the controller but i didnt buy the controller beacase its just the same controlller just white and red baseball stirpes.I WOULD GET THIS GAME IF I WAS YOU!!!

This game is absolutely the best baseball game on the market. Graphics again look absolutely amazing as they do every year, although somehow they keep improving. Even for casual fans of baseball this game is a must buy. The soundtrack and game commentary could be better but with the ability to download songs into the game via Sounds of the Show the first problem is easily fixed. As for game commentary...well lets just say that nothing has changed at all from the first Show and it is getting very old. I usually turn the commentators off and listen to the crowd and play my own music while I'm playing. Overall this game is absolutely amazing with the new additions to RTTS and CoW, and the always impressive Franchise mode there is almost no way to improve on this game. ALMOST!

They have done it again. Mlb the show really takes in consideration what it public thinks and recommends. I have not seen another game where the producers and support teams work harder. With that being said they have made some big changes this year. Gameplay tuned with anolog controls makes a more realistic feel to the action. The presentation of the game is even better than last year which I didn't think was possible. One of the best changes though was online where they added an expirienced based ranking system as opposed to the past where you would get players ranking up by playing a buddy on a fake profile. The road to the show mode tops off the best baseball game out there by making you the player. This game makes 2k baseball look like little league.
