by booya15 Not for those with slow reflexes
MVC3 is a very fast paced fighter. It really speaks to the hardcore gamer, but is a little inviting to those new to the series. The Pros: Great gameplay and doesn't ever let up, great graphics for a fighter, will keep you coming back for a while. The Cons: Lack of modes, no spectator option for those waiting in lobbies, some online lag, smaller roster than previous games. MVC2 had over 56 playable characters, many of which had to be unlocked, but added to its longevity. MVC3 only has 38, in total (includes unlock able+DLC). Online is great. Because of its fast and addictive gameplay, it makes this game VERY competitive. But if you are just getting started with fighters, online with randoms can be punishing. It is best to find a team you like fast, because the game will start to get harder as you progress. Overall, the game is great, and I am definitely going to be playing this for a while. If you happen to get it, don't hesitate on adding me on PSN: hdbullet24.

by Jerrod THE BEST FIGHTING GAME IN THE WORLD!!!!
I been playing this game since the arcade days. My brother and I would spend 20 to 30 dollars in the arcade playing this one game! Then Marvel vs Capcom 2 came out on xbox 360 and we were one of the first to buy it. Now that i have ps3 Marvel vs Capcom is coming out on ps3!!!! I've pre-ordered the limited edition copy. Anyone who plays FIGHTING games from Tekon to Street Fighter this is the game to buy! There should be over 50 people u could pick at the start of the game. You can do insane combos, 3 on 3 battles and the controls are going to be precise with the dual shock 3 controller. You dont want to miss out on one of the best fighting games! If this review helped you LIKE my page on facebook type in the search bar PLAYSTATION 2011 on facebook LIKE ME. Add your input your voice should be heard.

I am a seasoned vet when it comes to the MvC series (dating back to X-Men Vs Street Fighter). So when I heard that MvC3 was coming out after 10 years of the release best Vs. fighting ever I could not wait to get it. I purchased it and was slightly disappointed. While they brought back the three attack buttons, I wish they would have used the six button (three punches, three kicks) scheme. Some of the characters do not EVEN belong in this game (Authur??? Viewful Joe?? Really?!?!?!?), while some from MvC2 were not on this game (Gambit, Cable, Ken). The team aerial combos are good, but a block feature shouldve been added, instead of guessing which way your foe is going to come just to block. As far as the simple mode, it does not bother me. It reminds me of the easy mode on MvC 1, so anyone can play this with ease. The best way to play this game is online mode, becasue the offline mode is, for a lack of a better term, is boring. If you played MvC2, try this at least once.

I have been waiting for this game for so many years. I rented it today on account of being scared this was going to be another Street fighter 4. I got it home and was absolutely devastated at how disgustingly cheap almost all of the characters are. MVC2 had a bunch of cheap characters (mainly every marvel character), but this is just sad and disappointing. Wesker and Deadpool are an insult to the integrity of fighting games. There is no way around majority of what they do and it just ends in you being incredibly angry (can't say other things on here). Everything else looks and sounds good, but this totally wrecked my day.
They even have a "simple" system which allows button mashers to do well, which shouldn't happen in general.
I know I'm not in my prime anymore (due to growing up, going to school, having a job, girlfriend, and all that jazz) but it shouldn't be this frustrating. If the arcade mode is like this, I don't even want to consider how cheap everyone will be online. Cuz you know, Wesker, Deadpool, and Wolverine are going to be in every team.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 is a fast paced fighting game . Its fun mostly for fans of the series , but its not that hard to pick up. At first glance Marvel vs Capcom seems like a flashy and fun fighting game. The good parts are the gameplay its very fun and addictive. The problems Marvel vs Capcom 3 has is a lack of modes such as a spectator , tournament, replay etc. Overall the roster is okay but its small to fans of the franchise and alot of fan favorites are missing. The roster consist of many marvel superheroes and capcom classics such as ryu , nathan spencer, and dante. There are missing characters like strider hiryu, megaman, venom, and gambit. Lets talk about online versus its terrible all you encounter is akumas, sentinels, phoenix, wolverine, wesker, dante, and hulk these characters are horribly overpowered. So stay away from ranked matches. Overall Marvel vs Capcom 3 is a good game with a few issues.

MvC 3 just doesn't do it for me. I bought it because I LOVED MvC 2 and was ultra excited for a next gen release.
Everything I loved about MvC 2 just isn't in here. In comparison to 2, the character selection in 3 is very poor. This isn't really a complaint about the lack of characters. I understand the scope of adding more characters to a next gen game and the complexities of doing so, but my gripe is that the character selection in the game is VERY poor. Staples like Guile, Ken, Gambit, Jin, Stryder, and Iceman were replaced with the likes of Viewtiful Joe, Arthur, She-Hulk, Hsien-Ko, and M.O.D.O.K...terrible. I'm willing to bet this newer generation of gamers have never seen Mike Haggar before, unless they have access to an SNES emu.
I can't completely bash it though--Wesker, Deadpool, and Dante were nice additions, but they simply don't make up for who is missing. Maybe Capcom is counting on a ton of downloadable content to add characters? Either way, this game certainly did not live up to its potential.
Gameplay is ok, but no where near as faced paced as 2.

Marvel vs Capcom 3 is a pretty awesome game. Sound is great and game is pretty appealing, but somehow I felt they (Capcom) could had pushed more the resolution and gameplay. 720 really? and gameplay is extremely simplified. Where is the L,M,H kick and punch. Capcom games are already simplified, but making really really simply is just stupid. I guess SNK takes the cake for challenging moves on fighting games, not everyone can play it.
To be honest and straight forward, the game is great, but should not be called marvel vs capcom 3 because it has nothing related to the previous games. Basically is just stealing the hype and the epic quality of the previous games mvc and mvc2 just to sell the game mvc3.
My new title on this game should be, "Capcom vs Marvel: Fate of Two Worlds" this game is not related to marvel vs capcom 2 since it has the name switched around just like capcom vs snk and SVC chaos. :)
Rated 8 out of 10 by grady Not as good as MvsC2
I expected alot out of this game, and once I started playing a hour or 2, I became very dissapointed. The graphics look very impresive and is probably the best looking fighter so far. The story mode sucks and I didn't spend that much time playing the Arcade mode. The online mode is what makes the game playable. When you play online better be prepared you are gonna get your but handed to you alot. My big issue is that some characters have avantages over other, and you will have to find some way to out counter there moves. Some characters like Sentinal, Ryu, Ironman, Hulk, and Amaterasu are very frustrating to attack against and you will have to be serious about what move you make. This games character roaster is very poor, and i felt that hit the games enjoyment pretty hard. The 2nd game game had about 59 or 60 characters and they took most of the good characters out and put lame characters like MODOK, Phoenix, and Arthur. They did include good characters like Deadpool, Dante, and Chris Redfield. This game is an alright fighting game, and will give you hours and hours of enjoyment.
