It's sooooooo awesome
When I bought this game and started my season with the Giants, I was blown away. The catcher blocking the plate is pretty realistic. Once I slid into his face and he dropped the ball. I love this game

How 2K13 Is Better Than MLB: The Show
I used to have a 360 and the only baseball games I could get for the system were the ones put out by 2K. And I had absolutely no problem with that, I had so much fun playing these games. But I decided to buy a PS3 SPECIFICALLY for The Show. Which was probably not a good call on my part. The show has good gameplay and incredible graphics, but the franchise mode is absolutely terrible. Nothing is realistic about it. For example, the AI controlled Yankees would never trade Derek Jeter to the Brewers for a fifth starter or average relief pitcher. But in The Show, this kind of thing happens ALL THE TIME. It is incredibly frustrating. Not only is it not realistic, but it's pretty confusing as well. That's where I favor 2K heavily. It may lack the polish that The Show has, but it is 10x's more fun. Franchise mode in 2K13 is so much more simple. If you're more interested in how the game looks, buy the show. But if you're looking for fun that'll last you all season, buy 2K13.
P.S. If you pick The Show over 2K baseball, expect the same game to be released every year. They hardly ever update the games at all except for the rosters. 2K at least tries to make their games better every year with new features.

This game is actually garbage.
The graphics are god awful. So unrealistic. The graphics look like they came out of a coloring book. Child please, this game is more unrealistic than nba jam!!!!! LEAVE 2K baseball you're actually a joke. If you own an xbox and not a ps3, my suggestion is to take the money you would've used to buy this game, and buy the channel mlb extra innings, season tickets to your local team, and a calendar so you can count down the days until 2k baseball is gone and they start making mlb the show for xbox too. Don't listen to the reviews
this is my favorite baseball game my second fav sports game this has awesome graphics the sound is like the game is in your room and the overall gameplay is perfect what ever you do dont get the show its sucks its way too easy like press x for a fast ball what the heck dont buy a easy game 2k12 will entertain you for life trust me (ALSO LIKE THIS REVIEW IF YOU LIKE THE YANKEES) so those other reviews just simply ignore them they just want you to buy a bad game so they get bad likes so they get more popular.

MLB 2Kfail
I would not recommend this game to anyone, because it's pathetic. The online gameplay and sound are worthless and the graphics look lame as well.

Get the Show
This game is horrible. Do not get it unless you play xbox where this is the only other option. GET THE SHOW!! It is much better. In 2k12, the graphics are horrible. I have seen Nintendo 64 graphics that are better then this. The sound isn't very good and you don't feel you are at the game. Fans don't cheer very good and they do it at the wrong times. The fields look horrible. I got 2k10 and being a tigers fan, I went to Comerica park. The bullpens have been in left field for a couple years before that and they in 2k10, they were in right field. Way to do your research 2k games. If you get this game, I pray for you.

Could have been better
The features on the game are ok, but could have been better. I recommend MLB 12' The Show if you're looking for a better quality game.

I agree, do NOT listen to the reviews
I just got this game and havn't played 2K baseball since 2K9 for the PSP and I enjoy this game! The pitching motions look beautiful and look much like some of the actual pitchers motions such as John Danks and Jake Peavy's motions. The graphics aren't quite as realistic as The Show's but it's still good and the gameplay is fun! Also, it's a deep game so it will keep you busy as well as having an awesome soundtrack! The broadcasting is incredible. Gary Thorne does a great job calling the games. It's so amazing that I felt like I was hearing a real broadcast especially when MLB Today is in effect which is another great feature as it gives you the REAL current MLB stats of all the players. It even updates the players ratings DURING the game based on their real life stats, for example: A.J. Pierzynski is the no.1 rated catcher in the AL because of his average and impressive power numbers so based on hs power numbers, his power in the game went from a 55 rating to a 69 rating as he already has 8 homers this season. Also, I have to say that the home run derby is so much fun. I love how the music blends in with the derby (kinda like the show except in the Show, the music is played on an innercom) and how the players hit the ball extra far (485 ft with Adam Dunn!). The only flaw in this game is that it seems that it takes a long time for a roster update. The last update was on May 11th so I don't know what the deal is. Oveall I believe that this game is very good. I recommend getting both MLB 2K12 and MLB 12 The Show because The Show is still one of the funnest sports experiences around. But don't sleep on MLB 2K!!! Even better, if you have a Playstation Vita then I recommend getting MLB 2K12 for the PS3 and MLB 12 The Show for the PS VIta so that way you have 2 great baseball games for 2 great systems.
