Madden NFL 09
The game could've been better than most madden games but I prefer that you should get it.My favorite part about the game is superstar mode and franchise mode haven't tried online yet.But if your reading this you should go get it.It's a really good price for a madden nfl game now these days.
Not the best game to buy control wise.
Alright, let's start on the controls, takes getting used to sure.... but i went to superstar mode like i usually start all madden games. the challenges i found to be impossible like the personal workouts and the nfl combine. and that's like the very beginning. i have to say, if you played madden nfl 07 for the ps2, you're gonna find the highlight stick extremely useless. you can't break more than one tackle really, you can't sprint and break tackles either. the controls are simple until you get to the highlight moves and the big hits. the graphics draw you in but then it's all downhill from there. i may not be a picky gamer, but i know when something isn't right, and the highlight stick is crucial. so, if you ask me, look for something else, this one just downright sucks.
Great price,OK game
Madden NFL 09 is a good price for what it's worth but, the gameplay can be very tricky and it is mostly like Madden NFL 10 in so many ways.So my advice to you:If you're an excellent gamer in football, definitely buy it!
Its just another Madden game
Madden NFL 09 is an American football video game based on the National Football League that was published by EA Sports and developed by EA Tiburon. It is the 20th annual installment in the Madden NFL video game franchise. This game is known for realistic graphics and big hits. The game was released for the Nintendo DS, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation Portable, Wii, Xbox and Xbox 360 consoles, as well as mobile devices. It was also the last game ever made for the Xbox.
Unlike previous versions, the game was not released for the PC. EA Sports has said that they are "retooling the PC version" after not making 09. Despite these claims of 'retooling', PC users were again ignored the following year as no Windows version of Madden 10 were released. In June 2009, EA Sports announced that for the year 2010, the games Madden NFL, NCAA Football, NASCAR, NHL, NBA Live, and Tiger Woods PGA Tour would not be shipped for Microsoft Windows.
The Wii version of the game is titled Madden NFL 09 All-Play and was launched under EA Sports' new All-Play brand exclusive to the platform, taking a slightly different approach to the game and taking advantage of the motion controls.
The 20th Anniversary Collector's Edition of Madden NFL 09 includes NFL Head Coach 09, an alternative case, an exclusive version of John Madden Football '93 with updated teams and rosters and bonus video content and clips. A demo of the game was released on Xbox Live Marketplace and PlayStation Network. The standard version and the anniversary package were released on August 12, 2008. As of August 12, 2008, the game was the last title released for the original Xbox. A Spanish language version of the game was released on September 17, 2008 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.
This is the worst madden game ever. I traded it in after the second day. They tried to make it family friendy, that would be great if I wanted to play with my family. I buy madden for franchise mode. You dont even get to choose from a playbook. When I first played when I went to call my fisrt play I had to select my formation and the choices were pass, run, field goal, or something like that. So I thought it must be on easy play or something, I went to options and sure enouph it was on simple play calling so I swithed it to advanced hoping it would give me all the choices madden has always gives me. When I went to the game my formation choices were short pass, long pass, run outside, run inside, somethign like that. This game would be great for kids. If I wanted to buy kids games I would buy a wii. When I played frachise mode I always like to move a team and rename it and change the logo (basicly create a team) but I couldn't. To conclude, this game sucks dont buy it, worst madden game.
I was so excited because i sold my ps2 to get a ps3 and knew they still made madden for the ps3 but the controls were different like sprint was r2 instead of the regular x button and the players looked different than the other years of madden which through me off and it just freaked me out. I used to love madden but now everythings different. Their legs were skinnier and they moved funny. Plus I used to be great at Madden but now that everythings different I have to start all over again, they are stupid for changing the best football game ever. Although I hated the game I did like that superstar didnt change because that was good the way they had it. My cousin has the ps2 version and it is great but the ps3 version is terrible so most of the time I want to play madden i have to play it over his house. I hope they change it back or let us switch the controls in the game for next year.
good, but sometimes is a let-downer
i got this game really excited. i watches a billion reviews and suspected best. and i was right. everything looked, played, and delivered great. the franchise mode was long and brought you in the shoes of a franchise owner, the gameplay's smooth as ever in madden's 20 years, and the graphics stood as little improvements brought big realism. but the superstar was same as last year, which disappointed me in many ways. and the online play, oh god. not good. at least not as expected to be. it was slow and was not showing greatness. also, after some fun get together with the game, and trying to earn points, and trying to lead a franchise gets boring after a while. still, a good game. i still recommend it to any NFL fan. its disappointing at some random times, but still can qualify as a good 20th anniversary.
Best one yet!
I've been playing madden since madden 2004 came out. I know how madden works and everything and this game brings out a whole new thing. Graphics, controls, sounds, new commentators, etc. The iq helps a lot! In the fist couple of games it's seems really easy but then it starts to understand you so it gets to be frustrating later on. The pass protecting offense gets very bad and you get sacked a lot! So this game makes you think quick as a quarterback and run. Things that I hate is that they leave out several players. To get Brett favre you have to go to roster then player management then nfl greats then go look for Brett farve and release him. Then get him as a free agent. Or you go online to play and it will automatically update the roster. So I heard. If you get mad when you make an interception or mess up on something and then quit, don't do that because then you will have a perfect season and wont think that the game is challenging. The rewind option is really useful but I recommend only using one because it's like cheating. I definitely recommend this to a friend.
Madden 09 Review
The game is by far the best video game the gaming world has ever seen. I am one who is very competitive and thrives on competition. This game definitely gives me the satisfaction of competition. I play with the Tennessee Titans and have played a total of 267 games of Madden 09 and have a record of 178-89. One of the toughest counterparts I have came across is the Pittsburgh Steelers. They have a great run defense and defense alone just like in the real sporting world and I have tons of trouble running on them as I should. And as bad as my passing game is with Vince Young under center, it makes it very difficult which I am fine with. I love competition and challenges. The one thing that really bugs me about this game is that the CPU passing game is literally unstoppable. I play with the Titans who have one of the best pass defenses and pass rushes in the NFL and I still can't find success in stopping their passing game. I don't have a problem with it, but their is nothing you can do to stop it. It's not like in the run game where you can adjust your play calling to stop it as in bringing the blitz, etc. But in the passing game, it doesn't matter what team you are playing, what plays you call, or anything. They do and will always pass the ball on you which kills you, especially in their two minute drill because all they are going to do is pass the ball. Overall it is a great game, the only real problem I see is that the CPU passing game is unstoppable. It's great to see they got rid of QB Vision (That gave me fits since I had Vince Young as my QB) and they have done several things to make the game more user friendly and provide you with a better gaming experience.
I've been playing video games for about 20 years. This is my first Madden since 2005. I was rather disappointed with Madden 09. The graphics are nice, but the game play left a lot to be desired. I tried playing with several teams and couldn't develop a running game. When I try to make the running back make a move or slow down, he runs backwards and loses yards. It's frustrating! The passing game has no feel. I discovered that I could dump the ball off to the tight end on almost every play. It didn't matter if he was covered or not. He still made the catch. In one game, I did it 30 times for over 300 yards. It's really no fun. It's boring. On defense, my tacklers frequently bounce of the CPU controlled players. I found it very rare to make a one on one tackle. I played it about 20 times and traded in the game.
