Product Details:

It all started in 1998. Half-Life sends a shock through the game industry with its combination of pounding action and continuous, immersive storytelling. Valve's debut title wins more than 50 game-of-the-year awards on its way to being named "Best PC Game Ever" by PC Gamer. Flash forward almost ten years later. The critcal acclaim has yet to stop. Now, The Orange Box delivers five innovative action games from Valve - creators of the blockbuster Half Life franchise, in one box. The Orange Box includes Half Life 2: Episode Two, Portal and Team Fortress 2 in addition to full versions of award-winning Half Life 2 and Half Life 2: Episode One for an engrossing first-person action experience.

Half-Life 2-
The player again picks up the crowbar of research scientist Gordon Freeman, who finds himself on an alien-infested Earth being picked to the bone, its resources depleted, its populace dwindling. Freeman is thrust into the unenviable role of rescuing the world from the wrong he unleashed back at Black Mesa. And a lot of people he cares about are counting on him.

Half-Life 2: Episode 1-
Stepping into the hazard suit of Dr. Gordon Freeman, you face the immediate repercussions of your actions in City 17 and the Citadel. Rejoin Alyx Vance and her robot, Dog, to once again aid the human resistance in their desperate battle against the totalitarian alien menace of the Combine. Episode One exposes Alyx's combat skills and knowledge of City 17 as the player battles side-by-side with her in this 4-6 hour adventure of greater density and detail than non-episodic releases.

Portal-
The game is designed to change the way players approach, manipulate, and surmise the possibilities in a given environment; similar to how Half-Life 2's Gravity Gun innovated new ways to leverage an object in any given situation. Players must solve physical puzzles and challenges by opening portals to maneuvering objects, and themselves, through space.

Half-Life 2: Episode 2
As Dr. Gordon Freeman, you were last seen exiting City 17 with Alyx Vance as the Citadel erupted amidst a storm of unknown proportions. In Episode Two, you must battle and race against Combine forces as you traverse the White Forest to deliver a crucial information packet stolen from the Citadel to an enclave of fellow resistance scientists.

Team Fortress 2-
Unlike other "class-based" games that offer a variety of combat classes only, Team Fortress 2 packs a wild variety of classes which provide a broad range of tactical abilities and personalities, and lend themselves to a variety of player skills. Play as the flame-throwing Pyro, the room clearing Heavy, or the Spy, a master of disguises. Other classes include: Scout, Sniper, Medic, Engineer, Demoman, or Soldier.
All new games in The Orange Box are:
  • Half Life 2: Episode Two - the second chapter in Valve's award-winning trilogy, taking gamers beyond the walls of City 17 for the first time.
  • Portal - A groundbreaking new kind of action game that will forever change the way gamers interact with their environment, much like Half Life 2's gravity gun rewrote the rules for how gamers manipulate in-game objects and use physics.
  • Team Fortress 2 - The long-awaited return of the legendary king of role-based online multiplayer games, Team Fortress 2 pushes the Source Engine to new heights with a daring new art style and deep multiplayer gameplay for nine distinct roles.

  • 5 Games, One Box - The Orange Box is the ultimate collection of innovative action games for the PC or console, and an amazing introduction to the Half Life series for console gamers.
  • Epic Storyline - Half Life 2: Episode Two takes gamers deeper into one of the best-known stories in gaming, following the desperate struggle of Gordon Freeman against the mysterious Combine. In this episode, gamers will leave the confines of City 17 for the first time.
  • Redefining Action - Portal delivers an innovative new action gaming experience. Arming players with a portal gun allowing them to create portals from one location to another with the press of a button, Portal will forever change the way that gamers interact with their environment.

  • World-Class Multiplayer
  • Team Fortress 2 is the sequel to granddaddy of role-based multiplayer actiongames. Featuring ninedistinct roles - Heavy, Spy, Scout, Demoman, Engineer, Medic, Sniper, Soldier and Pyro
  • Team Fortress 2 is one of this year's most anticipated multiplayer games for any platform.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from BUY THIS BUNDLE!!!! Even though this bundle is quite hard to find you must buy it! The Orange Box contains Half Life 2, Half Life 2 Episode 1, and Half Life 2 Episode 2. And that's only half of what you get The Orange Box also contains Portal and Team Fortress 2 however TF2 does contain hackers and is really poorly aged compared to the steam version (though I had one of the better experiences). In whole it's five great games for one fair price!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from turned out to be really fun I typically don't play this kind of game (gore and shooting) but finally gave it a chance after being obsessed with Portal and wanting to know what Black Mesa was about. Turns out it's really fun! actually quite addicting, I have to say I'm a big half-life fan now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from You have to own this!! If you haven't played these games yet...what are you thinking?? When I got back into gaming, Half-Life 2 was the first game I played. So, it definitely holds a lot of sentimental value for me. But, still, it seriously is one of the most ground-breaking games of all time. You get to enjoy huge gunfights with guards, massacre and burn crazy headcrab zombies and work your way through some of the most thought-provoking puzzle environments in any game. The other three HL2 episodes are all pretty similar (and lots of fun). They're shorter than the main campaign. Portal is simply the best puzzle game you will ever play. You basically have to work your way through numerous testing chambers using your "portal gun" to find your way out. The puzzles, voice-acting and overall gameplay is spot on. I didn't play Team Fortress. So, I can't comment on that one. You will love playing this disc for weeks. p.s. If you're new to gaming, I recommended some other games below that you need to check out. These are awesome too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Three awesome games Let's start of at Half life 2. Half life 2 is a first-person shooting game that has puzzles and zombies involed. Gorden freeman, goes through an adventure will Alxy Vance, mostly to get Eli Vance, her father. You go through combine soldiers and headcrabs to get to Dr. Breen where you also get captured. Team fortress 2 is a other first-person shooter game where you play online to fight other people. You have different classes like the Heavy. He has a chaingun. The sniper. He has a mini machine gun and a powerful sniper. There are just about 10 other classes as well. Portal is a other puzzle game where you have a portal gun and you try to escape the facility. You end up defeating the portal master of some sort. Go through deadly sentrey turrets and missile traps. There are even more games. This also contains Half-life episode 2 and Half-life episode 1. 5 awesome games in one disk.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Amazingly addicting Whether it's one of the games or a few the orange box will have you hooked for at least the next 5 weeks of your life. Valve outdid themselves this time. Half Life 2 along with episode 1 and 2 is sure to take up to 16 hours to beat. The breath taking scenery, AI intelligence (both friends and foes), and the battles will be just the start of this game. Then Portal, a FPS puzzle game is a intriguing start. Where it makes you think but not hate yourself. Then Team Fortress 2 has endless amounts of fun whether playing with friends or making new nemesis.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Half-Life 2 cannot be topped In my opinion Half-life 2 is the greatest game ever so Half-life 2 is the only reason that you need to buy this game. Portal is also a good game even though its short, but as good as Team Fortress 2 is the console version is almost a demo compared to the pc version which is also FREE on STEAM.
