Hakuoki: Stories of the Shinsengumi Limited Edition
A Great Visual Novel for Fans of the Genre
This is one of my absolute favorite visual novels. I was blown away by how immersed into the story I became as I played. The game follows a female protagonist. As she is taken in by the Shinsengumi, a group of samurai, as she searches for her missing father. Like other visual novels the game is like a "choose your own adventure" story, so please make note of this if it isn't your cup of tea.
Think Motion Manga
The game is good as long as you know what you are getting into before starting up. Its a write your own adventure game. You play as the main female and what on the options you choose detonates where the story progresses. Its a very specific genre that many people no longer find enjoyable. However, if its your cup of tea its a good game.
Great for Anime Lovers
This visual novel is geared toward girls but overall does a good job telling a story and giving you different endings depending on your choices. I bought the collectors edition and wasnt that excited to have the items inside. The comb and hair piece felt cheaply made and rushed (literally a wooden chopstick with a stiff charm at the end). However the box is beautiful. Overall a beautiful game with good graphics and a decent story.
Waste of time and money
This "game" has no gameplay. It is just a story where you get to pick different options. You never get to see the character move. It would be a waste of time and money for anyone who buys the game. I would rather watch anime.
