Rated 0 out of 10 by TD_ThA_mOnStA_609 Lauged at its announcement
At first, I laughed when I heard of its announcement during the VGA's, but after awhile of letting it set in, I only had 2 concrete thoughts about this. 1.) Not a bad idea by any means. I mean they're a popular group with great music, have a massive set list of hits, and to hear the addition of actual venues put into the game (some of which are famous venues that are non existent) makes this game look really interesting, and nice to see them paying homage to some great venues. 2.) Not exactly the best choice. I mean, before this announcement, you heard about an actual project with Pearl Jam, and the possibilities of a Who RockBand, and even a U2 RockBand. I don't know, they did pick the right place and time to announce it. But at the same time, you hear about a possible RockBand game for The Who, and then you find out they pick GreenDay over them, you kinda think, huh? But ah well. At least it looks like GreenDay knows videogames because they went to the right company to make a music game; Harmonix. I mean, look at the success of Beatles RockBand? Need I say more.

Harmonix is simply testing the market...think about it. The Beatles: Rock Band was the first band centric game to come out with the rock band name and people ate it up they also were willing to buy with extra instruments. Green Day: Rock Band will have no extra instruments and will be exportable, completely opposite from The Beatles. They are simply deciding to continue making band centric games or not while testing what they think works best for them...not to mention tweaking the Harmony vox for Rock Band 3. Personally I look forward to this game because unlike most people I'm a true Green Day fan and am a fan of everything they've done so this will be fantastic. Seriously Green Day have grown up and cannnot gripe about teenage problems in their 40's...but that's a rant for another day.

I have to agree with that, i mean come on, AC/DC, Beetles, now Green Day. Man these guys are just throwing everything out there to try and compete with guitar hero. But im sorry to tell you harmonix that no matter what you come out with that i will always like GH better, and theres no doubt about it. I love AC/DC and the beetles are just AWSOME, and Green Day is a good band too but stop testing the market. your just gonna ruin the Rock Band title....given you didnt already. JUST GIVE IT A REST ALREADY HARMONIX. you got to give the other 50 games you came out with a chance to sink in yet, if they ever do.

I am a fan of both Rock Band and a huge fan of Green Day, so when I saw in February that this game was going to come out in June, I knew I had to have it. I got the money, pre ordered, and was happy with what I got. One thing that's not so great about this game is that it lacks the challenge that some of the metal songs in Rock Band 2 did. Another thing that isn't great is no DLC, so your stuck with the songs on the disc. This is overall a must buy for fans of the band, and good for the average rock band player.

Well first a comment before me says the best since baked bread well that is wrong all bread is baked and the saying goes the best since sliced bread. Now for the game I think it should only for the people that are obsessed with Green Day because most of the songs are Green Day. I personally don"t like Green Day so it is not a game for me. And last i think they officially made to many Rock Band games, it's like day after day I see that they are coming out with a new one.

If you dont like music games or dont want to buy the game, dont buy it. I like music games. I am tired of hearing people complain about how many there are and who they are coming out with. Dont buy them. No one is forcing you to. This game is going to be awesome and just like Rock Band, they are taking care of their customers by allowing it to be exportable unlike my Guitar Hero Van Halen, Metallica, and Aerosmith.

I really like green day and everything, but i just wished they would of included more from the pre-american idiot era. Like it starts at Dookie which is good but then it skips ten years and goes to Straight to The Militon Kings concert. i just wish they would of included more shows from before american idiot like from nimrod and warning. But i still bought it lol

What's next? Hannah Montanna Rock Band? I really wish they would have picked a better band like Led Zepp( even though that would never go down with Paige and Plant. Green Day was good in the 90's now they are emo and not to mention washed up. It wouldn't be so bad if was composed of only their old albums.

if you like green day your most certainly going to buy this most likely even if they don't play music games. Just like the beatles version, you like then youll like the game. tho, 60$ for a game that you can add to your original rock band and 47 songs, 60 just seems to be high for what you get.
