Godfather: The Don's Edition - Used
While not bad...
The Godfather has been a movie series almost everyone has some knowledge about. Whether you've seen the movies, read the books, or just heard the lines quoted in a bad Marlon Brando imitation, the Godfather has some infamy to it. The game does not live up to the trilogy of movies, or the great series of books. While it does offer some interesting twists on the tried and true GTA gameplay styles that have been seen in so many other games as of late, the story is lackluster at times. However, the customization of the main character, the interactions with well known characters from the series, and a mostly faithful adaptation to the New York of the time make this game at least a fun alternative if you have gotten bored with Grand Theft Auto. Don't expect to be blown away by anything seen or done in the game, but it has enough to keep you invested throughout.
it's an almost ?
3rd person open world with purty good godfather character creations
although I know it's an older game , the movement is clumsy and some of the missions are too easy and can be funny at times ? not to mention any spoilers , I will conclude it's an amusing game that has it's story moments , but , as for a whole for those who have played sand box , this
game is more on the amusing side and really does not present a big challenge at all ! just keep doing "bank jobs" and hide and it will get interesting !
First off, I actually owned the PS2 version first and thought it was pretty good. Probably like a 8 out of 10 for that system. Now for the revised PS3 version, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of added missions and extra content. I did give it a 10 on graphics, which would probably be lower if it wasn't a revised PS2 game. This is worth the money, and it's one I would never sale or trade. I play through the game, different ways each time(missions first, then take over rackets... And vice versa). Then don't play it for months then when I'm bored with current games, I grab for this game and startover all again. So lasting appeal to me is definitely there. The only downside I can say, is the controls are lacking and annoying at times. Other than that, it's a 10 all the way!
Alluring, Exciting, and Intricate.
When I was playing this game I found that it was similar to the games that "Rockstar" makes. Similar to the game Mafia 2, I found myself engrossed in "The Godfather". I suggest this to any gamer that enjoys an exciting and fun adventure, and is looking to find a great story.
i love this gameeee

Man, what a game!
This game is perfection. It follows the story of the movie very closely while adding an alternate story specifically for your character. The game is easy to pick up on but definatly a challenge. In fact, it is one of the hardest games I have ever played. The length is fantastic, it is the longest game I have played. It took me a total of 32 hours to beat it. Everything about this game is great from the sound to the AI. It has characters from the original book and movie but also introduces new characters only found in the game such as: Monk Molone, Frankie Malone, Jaggy Javino, The Trojan, Rosa, and many others. I used to have an Xbox 360 and I had the game for it and it was great. I traded my Xbox for a Playstation 3 and had to buy the game again. I found this version, entitled The Don's Edition, is even better. It's like some how making perfection better. This version introduces new hits, new compounds, a new family from Chicago (I think this family is only available if you buy extra hits from the Playstation store but it may actually be part of the game), new businesses, warehouses, and transport hubs to take over, one new car, a somewhat bigger map of New York, new characters, photagraphers, dirt you can get on police cheifs, and games which you can post your stats online. You get to relive classic moments from the book and movie as well as all new scenarios. EA did a great job of making you really feel like you are in the 1930's, 40's, and 50's. And the controls make it feel like you really are shooting, punching, or strangling someone. The PS3's SIXAXIS really adds to the experience. You can twist the controller, move it forward, and shake it to kill people. This game is fantastic, if I could give it 100 stars I would. This game is fun for anyone who likes The Godfather or mafia movies/games/books and would be fun for anyone who likes Grand Theft Auto style games.
