Rated 7 out of 10 by Revan126 Great Concept and Storyline, Decent Game
Being a long time fan of the books, I found myself enjoying the storyline of this game. Most of the quirks of Martin's writing exist in the story: it is a dark, morbid story with multiple twists. While being a book reader or a viewer of the show is helpful to know the back story to some of the characters seen (only about 3-4 from the show) and places visited, it is very possible to play it without having known anything about either. The gameplay of the game is decent enough and provides a pretty ample challenge. The graphics aren't impressive, but are decent enough. The sound is where the developers really botched up though, there are a few scenes where the music cuts off and starts up again and can distract away from an otherwise intriguing scene.
Overall, this is a game with a great, memorable storyline and is definitely worth a try if you are a fan of the series, or rpg's in general.
Rated 1 out of 10 by Grethmic Epic storyline with a poorly designed game
Love the books and definitely love the series (cause the author had a hand in it), but the game is less then desirable. The storyline for both characters you play are great and it would be fun to read about them vs actually playing through the muck that is the gameplay. Graphics are severely poor for today's technology. The designers were constantly recycling the cookie cutter minor characters (i.e.: non-playable, townsfolk, group mob scenes) over and over again. The combat just has you sit there and do the same combos over and over with only one style to cycle through. The voice acting is alright and they obviously made the main characters stand out (which is a given), but other major characters (even ones you don't play) look like they were thrown together at the last minute. Glitches like crazy if I might add. Doors go through you or vice versa, or people that you talk to may not be there (i.e.: bad rendering). The only thing this game has going for itself is the storyline, and if you are willing to muck through the horrible game design then more power to you. For me I will stick with the books and the stellar TV series.
Rated 10 out of 10 by TG484 Great game for a great series!
I was hesitant to purchase this game due to the initial negative reviews, but after playing the game I was pleasantly surprised. The combat system for this game is similar to that from Dragon Age. However, there are several distinct differences in the way you select abilities and the slow motion effect. This game is not the hack and slash RPG like what we have seen in Skyrim. The story behind the game is amazingly scripted. You gain a valuable insight to the back story of Game of Thrones. The voice acting is one of the best I have seen in an RPG. It lives up to the excitement I get from watching the television series. If you are a fan of the books and series, then this is a game you must have.
Rated 1 out of 10 by peckdogg68 Not so much
I was expecting the game to be bad when i preordered it with it being based on a book and series but what i got was a total flop. This game is much worse then expected even knowing it was a flop i hope my interest in the books and series would make up for a bad game, however the game is just boring. From the story line to the graphics it looks like they just rushed it out with little to no thought about making a good game just to get it out while the name is hot. Be warned do not waste your money on this game not even worth 20 dollars in my opinion. However i am forcing myself to play it as hard as it is for me i must suffer for making the mistake of buying it before checking reviews :( .
Rated 8 out of 10 by abag Must play for fans of the book and TV show.
The game clearly feels rushed at times with unforgiving combat, glitchy graphics, and sometimes terrible voice-acting. Despite all these shortcomings, the story is its one saving grace. Taking place during the time period of the first book and season of the show. It features a story that is hard to not recommend for fans of the show or games like Dragon Age. It might not have the best combat system, but if you persevere and put strategy into your actions. You will find that it is a rewarding experience both in terms of gameplay and story.
Rated 8 out of 10 by Omega11 Great for fans of the series (books and TV)
If you have never read the Game of Throne book or the rest of the series, or seen the show then this will be an average game for you. If you love the universe that George R R Martin created and want to add another layer onto that then this game is for you. The author helped create this story and you can tell it fits right in with the books. If you are looking for mindless shooting and fighting then this probably isn't your top choice. Great story leads the way on this game, great inclusion of elements from the books and TV show.
Rated 5 out of 10 by Sprink07 Story Mode Great, Visuals Less than to be desired
The Story behind the game is the shining light for it. After the story the game drops off. The graphics are not very good, and at times the rendering of buildings and plants almost seems One Deminsional. This is a current gen game with previous gen graphics. The combat is pretty good, however there are a few kinks every now and then. The studio had a good idea behind the game but the lack of a big budget cought up with them. This should have been a 20$ DLC game, but its a 60$ instead because of the name on the cover.
Rated 10 out of 10 by EddardStark777 The story goes great with the show!
The graphics are decent, the gameplay is cool, and the characters are just like they are.... AWESOME! I'm impressed! I'm still on chapter two only for the fact that I had to do some stuff, but even though I made it through the riot I love this game! I recommend Game of Thrones to every fan of the show, and RPG games!
Rated 1 out of 10 by chinagirl Not good at all
I preordered this game and i didn't get half way through the game the graphics are horrible and it's a shame cause I'm a huge fan of the show and this is nothing like the show, big mistake paying $65 for this game I'm trading it in hopefully put the money towards medal of honor warfighter or black ops 2 , the last of, beyond two souls this is where I should of spent my money. Before preordering check reviews , demos anything before dishing money. Disappointed.

Just finished the first season from HBO & it held my attention straight through. All around awesome!!! I was excited to see the Video Game for Game of Thrones being released, but after seeing the previews graphics....... Well lets just say I'll hold off til its in the greatest hits rack & I can tell that wont be to long to wait. I wanna try it after liking the series so much, but the graphics just seem awful.
