Product Details:

Amidst a backdrop of worldwide ecological and seismological chaos in the mid-2100s, the United States has been split in two by the "Great Flood". As a result of the polar ice cap melting, the Mississippi River has destroyed the central portion of the United States, causing an ill-equipped Federal Government to fail and literally cutting the country in half. These two halves are left to fend for themselves in the aftermath. Fracture advances players to the year 2161, where the effects of global warming have altered the planet's landscape, and a clash in ideologies over human enhancements places society on the threshold of war. In utilizing the core gameplay mechanic of Fracture, a destructive next-generation technology known as Terrain Deformation, players are equipped with an arsenal of futuristic weaponry to strategically reshape their surroundings on the fly. Every action they perform dynamically reshapes the earth in ways that no videogame has ever seen. Players set foot on the frontlines of this epic conflict in the role of Jet Brody, a demolitions expert fighting for the Atlantic Alliance, who rely upon cybernetic enhancement. Pitted against the genetically enhanced soldiers of the Pacifican army, players will experience a revolution in 22nd-century warfare. When Brody throws a tectonic grenade onto a level battlefield, the ground blasts upward providing access to otherwise unreachable areas or providing access to otherwise unreachable areas or providing cover against approaching enemies. Surrounded on all sides by Pacifican forces, Brody heaves a vortex grenade, creating a swirling tornado-like mass of boulder, dirt and debris to dispatch his foes. These are just a few samples of the possibilities for Terrain Deformation. Players not only change the battlefield - they change the face of the battle itself.

The East, now known as the Atlantic Alliance, symbolic of their union with Europe, puts its faith in surviving this new world in cybernetics, an established yet evolving technology now more than 150 years old. On the other side of the flooded continent, the Western states, now called the Republic of Pacifica and having allied with Asia, resort to solving their problems at the genetic level, effectively restructuring the DNA of its inhabitants - a method the Atlantic Alliance finds morally reprehensible.

By 2161, it only takes a hint of unauthorized military preparation in Pacifica for the newly restored president to order a strike in the heart of Pacifican territory - an outpost in the now dry San Francisco Bay. This strike leads to the unthinkable: an epic conflict with global implications fought on U.S. soil. As a soldier in this struggle, Mason Briggs uses explosive, terrain-deforming weaponry to change the face of battle: He not only destroys the land in his path, he outright transforms it to gain the strategic advantage in completely unscripted ways no game has ever seen. With such a devastating arsenal at hand, Briggs never leaves any battlefield the way he found it.

In addition to extraordinary weaponry that allows players to do things previously only imagined, each side of the conflict, Pacifica and the Atlantic Alliance, boast soldiers with powers beyond those of ordinary men. Genetic augmentations provide Pacifican forces with amazing abilities, while Atlantic Alliance soldiers like Briggs counter the threat with the more "traditional" method: cybernetics. The differing states of superhumanity result in balanced yet stylistically different combat tactics that have never been seen before.

  • Truly next-generation gameplay - Groundbreaking terrain deformation allows players to reshape the battlefield on the fly with futuristic weaponry of the year 2161, allowing for unprecedented power, freedom and control.
  • All new story and characters from the company that brought you Star Wars and Indiana Jones, as well as Mercenaries and Thrillville - Players assume the role of Mason Briggs, a demolitions expert in the mighty Atlantic Alliance army and the next great action hero.
  • Plausible future conflict - As stem cell research continues to proliferate and spirals out of control, ideological differences over genetic enhancement place the player at the threshold of an epic battle of tomorrow between genetics vs. cybernetics as two powerful armies, with vastly differing tactics and advantages, square off. The battlefield will change forever.
  • Reshape the battlefield with terrain shattering weapons: Experience a dynamic battlefield that is unique every time you play. Use never-before-seen weapons to fracture, crater, freeze or elevate the earth. Unleash a subterranean torpedo toward your enemy and literally blast the Earth from beneath his feet. For the first time, players can mold a war zone to your advantage to push the attack or mount a defense.
  • Experience a story of betrayal and revenge: Follow the journey of a patriotic Atlantic Alliance soldier when an act of treason launches him into the lethal battlefield of the 22nd century, as forces wage a battle of genetics vs. cybernetics. In a war that divides loyalties and tests the bonds of a country and family, this soldier's discoveries will ultimately decide the fate of North America and perhaps, the world.
  • Multi-player & co-operative play allows the terrain deforming battles to rage one: Choose the side of the genetically enhanced Pacificans or the cybernetically powerful Atlantic Alliance, then jump online and exploit your chosen side's advantages as Terrain Deformation and Genetic vs. Cybernetic elements allow for endless hours of fun with friends online.
  • Fight for control of familiar locations and landmarks: The last World Wars were fought in Europe, but the next great global war will be fought on American soil. Battle in famous locations across the United States. Defend the Atlantic Alliance in Washington, D.C., fight the decisive battle for control of Pacifica in the basin of the now-empty San Francisco Bay and uncover the secret that will determine the world's fate in the Southwestern Desert.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Enjoyable I enjoyed this game. The game doesn't have a great story or the best game-play but it is still enjoyable. IT could have been better, but it is still not that bad of a game. I idea of lower or raising ground is pretty cool although it could have been done a little better. Overall it is enjoyable if you wanted to pick up a cheap game because you were bored. It isn't a game that you will want to rush out and buy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Its bad but not horrible This game offers some different style of gameplay to it but really doesnt last long in appeal. No one is ever online so it is hard to find somebody to play. the story is dry but offers some fun bosses.. I would say if you want a fast game you probably wont want to finish then go ahead and get it. I was dragging myself to the finish just so i could say i beat the dang thing..... dont get the game.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from extremely suckish ok, when i first played this game i was like cool you shape the universe and stuff, but then you find out that the dudes name is jet brody, thats not a good name at all. Then I was like cool multiplayer this game might actually have hope but nobody and i mean nobody plays online, zero people. the campaign is easy until all of a sudden it gets confusing, then i knew this game truly sucked and the only thing that is good about this game is graphics. If i were you I would not get this game

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Fail This game is an epic faill. I lost interst before the first level ended. Mainly because of the goofy story line and bad gun control, but many other things are worth saying that this game sucks. Do NOT buy this game! The only person that would like this game would be a 5 year old thinking he all grown up now because he can shoot a gun on a video game.

Guns, barely any effect, very little ammo. Character, slower than turtle, easy target, and looks ugly. Story, of USA turning on each other, THAT'S appealing! Advic and use it wisely: NEVER, EVER, BUY!
