Rated 4 out of 5 by from It is worth a play! At first, I was really reluctant about the story of this game and where it was going. But actually, it turned out to be quite interesting and rewarding. I can see why there would be many negative opinions regarding XIII-2's plot, as it can be hard to follow and seem a bit off at certain times, but all in all it is quite interesting and it keeps you wanting to play in order to see the the outcome. It feels magical. The new characters are also interesting, and fit pretty decently in the story. The battle system has been upgraded, no longer is it a pain to switch between paradigms! Overall, it feels smoother, and being able to capture creatures to aid you in battle is a pretty neat add-on. The graphics are nice, the missions decent, and the story may make you feel lost but it is good once you catch up with it. If you have played Final Fantasy XIII, then of course you should play its sequel. Yes, it is different from XIII, but it stands on its own pretty fine. It is fun and I do respect it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from BETRAYEL!!! I can't believe it got worse than xiii the ONLY good this game is that it's not the worse game because that's Lightning returns. the game play is wretched when in battle you only press the x button and plus it's all busy work while doing nothing, the story plot completely collapse in on it's self in 17 hours of game play only quote that i can sum this up is "The future changes the past." ~Cauis

Rated 4 out of 5 by from It's very addicting You will connect with the story in a way that you will feel like you're part of it. Every character has its own traits and they will each guide you through the story. Until you finally complete it and feel powerful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A Great Sequel Final Fantasy 13-2 had some great improvements! Graphics are on the spot! Music is wonderful, (Can't stop listening to Caius's theme). The stiffness from 13 is gone and the characters feel more free during battle. Having a monster as an ally was a great idea and a smart move. Leveling up has improved also but still feels like the old 13 way. If you thought Square Enix has lost their touch, oh boy they haven't!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great gameplay, but might be hard to follow story The combat is almost the same as FFXIII but with a few changes, such as the monster system, which basically just goes as a third party member. Kind of disappointing to have really only 2 people to control in battle instead of 3-4. The story can be confusing to some. Many FF stories are pretty straightforward with cool twists, but this story can get intricate. Usually, its like, "you have to venture here and do this so you can beat the bad guy", but with this is, it's like "you have to maybe go to this time zone and do this so that this can clear up so you can go onward and then do this to enter the portal to maybe go to a relevant time zone and hopefully beat the bad guy unless you didn't clear this paradox". If you don't like that kind of stuff, be wary.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The former 1 l'Cie must save the future. This game improved from the last in terms of what most people were looking for. I just wished I could have played as Lightning more. To me every game is great unless something just really keeps popping up over the course of the game.
