by Slayer66 One of the most action packed games of the year
Fear 3 is clearly one of the most frightening and action packed games of 2011, it has it all. One of the best of Fear series.
Rated 0 out of 10 by Kdizzle It looks really good
I can't wait it looks great. I'll get it for Xbox being that the game play is better for shooters on 360. as Far as graphics Uncharted/GOW kill Heavy rain. The Xbox could play Heavy Rain easily (from a graphics standpoint). the difference is that the CPU is not as powerful as the Ps3 and kills the 360 processing therefore game play might not be as fluid. The GPU (Graphics Chip) smokes the PS3 however, so games look sharper and more detailed on the XBOX like it or not. This is a fact and if you have both systems do the comparison your self. Each machine has something great to offer. I judge by the quality games that are out and exclusives. And as I see it Ps3 has a little catching up to do, but they are on the right track with GOW, Uncharted 2 & Killzone, Resistance. ( Wish Killzone played smoother cause it looks like a dream and makes HALO look like a cartoon). But with Gears 3, Halo Reach, Splinter Cell, Alan Wake just to name a few, Sony needs to continute to step their game up.

F.E.A.R. 3 is not really that scary. Some people even say that F.E.A.R. 1 and 2 were even more scary than this game. As my topic says above, 'An Uneasy Flow for Gamers' what I'm trying to say is that it's too jumpy. The storyline has no cache to it, sure it's about two brothers who were humiliated for many years by a man who wanted them to be his "legacy", but it their seems to be no cache. What was their personal story? How did they end up in the hands of a psychisist? And how are they genetically built to alter the world and people around them? This game also jumps from one scene to another in a strange order, from villages to stores to airports, that all leads back to the start of their life, an old mansion estate where underground lies who knows what. However this game isn't all that bad. The graphics were good, although it's too cheesy, the sound is good, and I like the power to possess people, levitate, stun people, and slow time. So I'd reccommend this game to those who like scary games.
Rated 3 out of 10 by VariousGamer Was a fan of the series...until now.
This game has major flaws that I wanted to overlook but the magnitude of them made that impossible. First of all the fps will slow to an obviously slow level visually. I am fine with using bullet time and slowing the game on purpose but in this day fps should not be an issue when playing any shooter at regular speed. Game play is repetitive with the same enemies and the same guns over and over and over. Bosses are either far too easy and predictable or almost invincible with massive damage resistance. Each level feels just like the last but they just changed the textures to look different. The scary aspects that made the old F.E.A.R. games great is now gone. Wow you made a monster pop out of a spot that it was obviously going to pop out of....so sad. Controls are ok but other shooters controls are much better and more intuitive feeling. Feels like a cheap F.E.A.R. 2.5 rather that F.E.A.R. 3. This game is so this pathetic the only 3 this game gets a 3 out of 10.
Rated 8 out of 10 by ScrelzNYC F.3.A.R is pretty good!
Having played the game for a couple days, I can say so far I am enjoying it. I finished through the campaign on co-op and it felt to me to be a decent length for its type of game. The multiplayer caught me, however. Contractions seems to be the most popular, as its usually easy to find someone playing. Its sort of like zombies, only there are military units that actually shoot back included. As you play through multiplayer and multiplayer co-op, you gain exp, and it makes you stronger in the campaign section of the game, which gives a bit of help when trying to beat F.3.A.R. on the harder modes. I have run into a few connection issues however, and sometimes the game may freeze during loading while actually in game. It does not happen often, though, maybe one or two times out of maybe seven games. Very frustrating when you actually get a team together that actually plays very well. All in all, the game is decent enough for me to give it an 8/10.

I've played FEAR 1 and 2 both great games. I have to admit when I started FEAR1 I wasn't to sure of it. As I kept playing I was impressed by the story and horror of the game. The graphics aren't great however it didn't bother me because the story was great. I thought the ending in the first Fear was awesome. I bought both games at the same time so I popped FEAR2 in as soon as I finished the first one. The graphics on 2 are better and the story started right where the first ended. I have to say I was a bit confused by the story on the second, I don't know if its because Warner Bros was involved or if Its just me. The scare factor is even better, there were times I wanted to get through a level because I was literally freaked out. I was confused with the ending so I bought FEAR2 REBORN hoping to answer some questions. However I feel I'm becoming more confused. The game is worth the time. I played it on a normal setting and it was perfect, not to hard and not to easy. Both games took about 10 hours each maybe more. I can't wait for FEAR3, I'm a fan of F.E.A.R
Rated 1 out of 10 by NerdyGlitch Fear what?
I was quick to run to gamestop to get the 3rd installation of fear, but was soon disappointed. Fear 3 lacks in the horror aspect that made Fear so appealing. There were maybe 3 parts in the game that made me go, "Oh!" and than quickly 4get about it. The gameplay was the same fun shooting style that I loved so much from Fear2. But the main thing that got me into Fear was the dark and creepy atmosphere, but has failed me in Fear 3. You can tell they tried to make gritty environments but fell short to capture what is expected from the previous games. The story is poor and just ridiculous and the ending is bland. The graphics are nice, not too much different from Fear 2, but it has cutscenes in this game that are a little nice, too bad the story is also a fail. Fear 3 might be scary for some, but if you're really into hardcore games, I would wait untill this game goes way down. It's a dissapointment
Rated 5 out of 10 by silvandblk F3AR becomes Call of Duty
What a disappointment!! I am a huge Fear fan and they decided to turn this into a first person shooter instead of the suspenseful, cling to your seat, not know what is around the corner game that the previous Fear games are. Point Man is a very appropriate name because he is on point with guns the whole game with very little actual suspense around each corner. The only good thing I can say about this game is being able to play as Fettel because then you get his psychic abilities with the ability to possess people. But the storyline.....WHAT STORYLINE??? If I wanted a pure shooter, I would get Call of Duty, Modern Warfare, etc. Any series needs to stay true to what made them good and this DOES NOT EVEN COME CLOSE
Rated 0 out of 10 by wyliewoods Paxton Fellel great villan
Alma is looking as lovely as ever. Having played F.E.A.R. 1 & 2 (and F.E.A.R. files) I'm interested to see where they are going to go with 3. Paxton Fellel is one of the best villan's ever -- ya just gotta respect a man with such dedication to the mission that even death doesn't stop him. I'm curious about one previous comment that said that the first game didn't have a story...?? I thought the story was obvious; granted it wasn't story-telling as in a rpg but for a survival/horror/shooter the story was what drove the gameplay. Alma was the powerful psychic child of a scientist/doctor that worked for the military complex. In his obsession with creating a 'super soldier' he allowed his daughter to be studied, tested and finally impregnated multiple times. Alma became so crazed by this she was kept in a drug induced coma. When she unexpectedly awakes during the birth of of one of her sons; she becomes so enraged by her situation and loss of her baby that she wreaks mayhem on everything around her and has to be placed in a stasis and 'buried' in an underground facility. In the first game you play as Point Man a rather adept soldier whose background and powers are revealed as you play the game. Now, with co-op the player can play as Paxton Fellel or Point Man. As the mother of two daughters I am rooting for Alma.
Rated 9 out of 10 Great for fans, but the scare needs to step up
This game was absolutely amazing. They really do make the action parts more fun than the modern warfare games, maybe not black ops though. But this game is nice for fans of the series or people looking for great co op or solo action. I will say the scare needs to step up. FEAR 1 gave me nightmares. It really is one of he only things that scare me and I don't get scared of really anything. Surprising jump moments, followed by short action scenes. It was great. Really did me good. FEAR 2 was awesome too. Only two years afterwords and the graphics improved. Introduced new scary things. 15 year old Alma, crawly monster things, ghosts, and some other thing. More in depth on the story, but that was the problem. That made FEAR 2 lack. Same with 3 but even worse. I want my extremely long scary moments back. The first FEAR created such an iconic creepy. Character for me and others. I was frightened of Alma. There was one scene I actually got scared from in 3 and that was on the ladder in the grocery store. Other than that nothing. I love this franchise and I want the super scary moments back where I'd have to pause and run downstairs. I really do suggest this game for fans only. It really is a good game but lacks in fright. I know they can bring it back and still keep a deep story line. So yeah, fans only. If you're interested buy the first two and play those.
