Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent FPS! This is one of the best FPS games that I have ever played. Everything about it is very well executed. The weapons are a ton of fun, the enemies are extremely aggressive and intelligent, the game is very creepy at times, the story is genius and environments look great! If you enjoyed the first F.E.A.R. or any other scifi FPS games like Half-Life or Wolfenstien your in for a treat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from decent horror if ur looking for something that's decent horror and not as freaky as dead space, id go with fear, its one of the best games i say that doesn't get looked at much, and its not repetitive unless u play games all day and have no life , other than that, its something worth going back to and playing just cause the game play and story is awesome

Rated 4 out of 5 by from My Experience F.E.A.R. 2 obviously is a sequal to F.E.A.R. I own all 3 of them and I love each of them. I first got into the series when I was a new gamer and sucked at these type of games (FPS), The AI in the first and second are very good, although I would say it's better in the first one. It is pretty funny to hear them yell out expletives when they see you come running or shooting at them. I spent a long time playing this game because I would get stuck in a certain part where I would die multiple times then get irritated and turn it off. This is because I wasn't taking full advantage of the game. I was playing it like COD and it's a different experience than COD. I went back to playing the first one so I could understand the story a bit better and then remembered SLOW-MO!!! It is great. Once you grab a shotgun run up real close to a guy hit triangle (slomo) then fire that thing right in there face and watch them explode, it's just amazing!!! It helps out immensely. If you get stuck like I was getting stuck all the time, just use all your slo-mo then recharge it while your behind cover. Speaking of cover, the cover system is kind of pointless but at least attempted in this game. It's got a great sense of "wow" in it and just makes you feel like you're in the story. It's not as scary as the first one but it's definitely a game I am going to play again. It's only like 20 bucks so just try it and if you don't like it return it back to your local Gamestop within 7 days. If you're like me, you won't need to.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Fun by repetitive aggravation and puzzles. If you like games where the path that you have to go next is not really that clear and you must constantly critically solve puzzles, then this is your game. The game seems to have a couple of different phases. You against genetically altered super soldiers that out number the heck out of you and force you to use their weapon (assault rifle or shotgun) for ammo replenishment purposes, or its you against the paranormal that are unarmed but also cause you to run out of ammo fast. It's a constant battle between finding ammo/health and eliminating enemies as well as finding your way around these complex facilities that make Gotham City look like a 2-year-old's newspaper maze. The weapons are not any specific type. Just "sniper rifle", "automatic shotgun", "assault rifle", etc, and you get a few special weapons here and there that are incredibly powerful yet highly inaccurate. It is standard L2 & R2 (aim and fire, respectively) with left stick move and right stick look. Standard stuff. However, there are some spots where it is almost impossible to complete the area without dying at least twice. I have the game set to maximum easy and I still get wiped from a brigade of enemy super soldiers whom seem to attack at the worse possible time.(Ex. Speeding down an underground tunnel with limited ammo refills) . The game is definitely a psychological thriller but the game play really sucks. However the graphics an sounds are amazing. I give it a 4 for lasting appeal because it stays on the shelf for long periods of time before I actually decide to try to play it. The multi-player is nothing like COD and if you think you'll enjoy it, you probably wont. DO NOT BUY for the multi-player aspect unless you have a few friends you want to play with.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Ugly and Uneventful. I couldn't get into it. I bought this game from Blockbuster for $10 and sold it to GameStop in the same day. I only made it to Chapter 4 before ridding my collection of this catastrophe. The gameplay is mediocre shooter full of dumb AI soldiers that will let you shoot them to near death before reacting. There are some pyschedelic horror scenes but have no effect on your character whatsoever. The graphics range from mediocre to "I can't believe they are that bad!" The environment from which you can travel through is detailed and is what you would expect from a 2006 title. The outside backgrounds though are incredibly bad and literally are just blocks. A city background consists of black blocks for buildings, grey lines for streets, and black blocks moving all at the same speed representing cars. The sounds are okay but nothing to praise. FEAR 2 is hit-or-miss with gamers. You may either hate it or love it. Personally, this game was so bad that I will not even attempt to play any other FEAR title. If your new to the series, either play FEAR 1 first or wait for FEAR 3 and hope its not as bad as this title. So either rent this, or ignore it.
