Rated 9 out of 10 by XilianX2010 Welcome to Kyrat!
If you thought Far Cry 3 was awesome, you'll be blown away with the 4th! The biggest improvements is the denser open-world, additional game play but also keeping to similar mechanics. New weapons and skill perks adds to the experience. The major down-side is the story, but you won' be to disappointed. It's not as immersive as Far Cry 3's, but you are given more choices to choose where the story leads, so replaying it makes it more enjoyable. Graphics on last-gen consoles are not nearly as impressive on next-gen and PC, but still are impressive. If you haven't gotten this game yet, go get it. It'll keep you addicting for hours!

First and foremost; This game is amazing. The gameplay on the other hand isn't new or fresh. In fact, if you played farcry 3 then you know what to expect. In my opinion Ubisoft played this one safe by sticking to what works best and once again produced a title that excels in providing a great open world FPS experience. Oh and you get a bigger arsenal this time. Although Ubi didn't reinvent the franchise, they give you more of FC3 and I'm fine with that as I'm sure you will be, assuming you played 3 and liked it.

The first two Far Cry games lacked character development and a decent plot. Far Cry 3 is arguably the better of the current three games out already. Because of this, in my opinion, the developers of Far Cry 4 took less time to create another Far Cry game; The possibility of being as successful and FC3 is very tempting. I'm just hoping FC4 maintains a diverse open world with a myriad of animals and enemies alike. If possible, the addition of many more side missions, collectibles, and areas (outposts or garrisons) to capture would be great. As of now the game and known dlc looks great.

Rated 8 out of 10 by PS3game222 Fun but Doesn't Surpass the Third
Far Cry 4 had a large had a large slope to climb in the wake of fits predecessor Far Cry 3. Far Cry 3 was an extremely fast-paced shooter that revolutionized the open world FPS genre. It had a great story, phenomenal gameplay, and absolutely stunning graphics. Now Far Cry 4 was one of the most anticipated games of 2014 and they delivered just not quite to the scale that some fans of the series were expecting. One major thing that Far Cry 4 is lacking is a story. You play as Ajay Ghale who has come to Kyrat to scatter his mothers ashes. What he gets when he gets there is a Revolutionary War, where the Golden Path, a militia group, are fighting the royal army of Pagan Min. The best thing that comes from the story is Pagan Min himself. He is a phenomenal villain who you despise but can't help but love because of his arrogance that nothing bad will happen to him and he is all-powerful. Hearing his voice pop up on my radio as I completed an objective added fuel to the fire for when I could finally kill him in a flurry of blood and bullets. But the rest of the characters are lack luster and seem to only be fillers in the story. I also think the story is far too short. Another flaw is the world of Kyrat is much less interesting to explore compared to the islands in Far Cry 3. Many of the places in Kyrat are exactly the same and lack variety as the different islands in Far Cry 3 had. But here come the positives for those of you waiting. The is beautiful, whether you are playing current of next gen consoles. The lush landscapes have an abundance of trees and sparkling lakes that really are gorgeous. The characters, although have little personality, all are very well designed and the animals look great as well. The levels in Shang'ri La even more stunning because the landscape is very colorful and bright in contrast to the landscape of Kyrat. Now I must speak about Far Cry's gameplay. It is as smooth as ever and it is extremely satisfying to kill your enemies. Taking someone out with your bow and then following up with a stab through the chest is a breeze to commit and feels amazing as well. Going around enemy outposts and slowly picking off enemies one by one is one like a skilled assassin is one of the best feelings the game has to offer. And going around blowing obstacles and people up is an alternate option that feels great as well. Far Cry 4 is a great game and should be bought. Just don't expect the kind of story we had last time around. If you liked my review hit that like button. Thanks for your time
