It wasn't terrible.
Far Cry 3 was good, but not great. I would wait to buy it, maybe once the price drops. The game is pretty, but that's not enough to make the game good. The things I didn't like about the game aren't enough to say don't buy it. Half of the game is all cut scenes. The map might be big but a lot of the game can get pretty repetitive, I also didn't like that there was a lot of parts of the game that requires you to be stealthy which I don't get. I also don't get the main character, he's a rich California kid who can kill an entire army of pirates and a private army by himself, as soon as the game starts. Overall I would say to rent this game until it's price gets dropped, or I guess you could go spend $60 on a game that's really only worth $40. I also don't understand all of the people saying that this game is Skyrim with guns. It is nothing like Skyrim. That's like saying that GTA IV is like Skyrim with guns.

All I Can Say Is Wow
This is truly one of the greatest games to come out on ps3. The graphics are jaw-dropping and the beautiful tropic setting will sometimes look photo realistic. The gameplay is better than most game's out there and many times will give you a choice in how take on enemies. (In the sense of being stealthy or going in guns blazing) but there are also time in the game where you will be forced into insane huge fire-fights without a choice which is annoying if you prefer stealth. Another small complaint is that while story wise, seeing Jason grow is very fulfilling, when it comes to the actual perks you receive for gaining XP, a lot of them just aren't that useful. But these are just minor complaints that barely take away from this fantastic game. When all comes down to it though, the true star of this game if the story. It is dark, unpredictable, and will keep you at the edge of your seat. And when it comes down to the end of it, the two endings work well. (I thought one was great, the other... meh) So bottom line, buy this game, its campaign will promise to be a fantastic 16ish hours.

A True Contender for GOTY.
Let me start off by saying that this game is pretty mature. The violence it typical as in other games like Call of Duty, Dishonored, or any other M game. But it's the true story of the game that makes it quite creepy. The creepiness of the game starts fairly early when you meet the doctor. He makes a lot of drug refrences, is on drugs, and sends you to a place where you get on drugs. There are also two "dirty" scenes in the game where one can be skipped. But if you can handle this, it's a fantastic game. Far Cry 3 is incredibly fun right from the start. They throw you right into the action without holding your hand too much. Something I loved about the game is the leveling up. Some level ups are a little useless like being able to shoot a pistol on a zipline, which you will never ever really use. But most are very useful like a chain takedown, more health, etc. Another thing I love is the crafting system. You can make bigger ammo pouches, loot pouches, and also make weapon holsters so you can carry more guns. The way you make these items is by hunting animals, so it makes hunting more useful. In Skyrim I found that hunting was only good for getting a few gold and that's about it. But Far Cry 3 makes sure all animal skins are useful. Now, on to the games guns. They're FANTASTIC with all caps. You can customize the guns to your liking with camos, silencers, scopes, extended clips, and more. Something that dissapoints a little with the guns however is that some guns aren't customizable. Some are excusable like the flamethrower where you can only add camos but that makes sense because nothing else really would make sense. But other guns like the AK-47 you can't add anything to it except camos, especially when you can put a scope on it in multiplayer. Now, onto the story, It's really good and immersive. It pulls off a really good story, probably the best I've seen in an RPG. I thought that it would be a side thing in the game, but it's quite the opposite, I ended up wishing there was more to the story. What makes the story so fun it the way it sets up missions, like "Kick the Hornet's Nest" a mission where it showcases the incredibly realistic fire effects. Something that surprised me was that the game is incredibly fun even when you don't do the story. The campaign was enough to make this game a must buy but they even added an average co-op and great multiplayer. The co-op sadly isn't open world like the story, but it's still fun to shoot pirates with up to three friends. The multi-player is great though. It's very fun and has all sorts of features like a reward system even when you don't play, customizing loadouts, and many other features. Something that surprised me is that the graphics are as good on multiplayer as on story. So in the end, it's definatley worth your money and don't let it pass you by.

This Is Not Call of Duty People
Far Cry 3 is just one of those must games out there that "must" be added to your game collection. First off "NO" if you hate Call Of Duty that doesn't give you any right to hate Far Cry 3. Far Cry 3 is more than just some silly first person shooter war game you see on the game store shelves everyday. The gameplay actually makes you use your head for once, and defeating enemies takes more than just spraying random bullets all over the place. You have to be smart, by preparing yourself for every battle by crafting weapons and various items to strengthen yourself . The game is sandbox type (GTA), you can do free roam and whatever you please. The graphics are just gorgeous and amazing to look at. Rook Island (the settings of the game) just looks gorgeous with colorful textures. There's always some beautiful scenery to be found when exploring.Soundtracks are just great and charming but sometimes you'll get the feeling they could have added more of a friendly tropical music type. Overall this game is great, I definitely recommend it to any type of gamers and please don't think because it's a first person shooter means it's just a Call of Duty game. Call of Duty is nothing compared to how awesome this game really is. The only disappointing thing about this game is that there is no Co-op free roam, hopefully Ubisoft might release some DLC for it, apart from this bad GET THIS GAME.

for shooter gamers
To make this short, you'll definitely have a good time playing. Great soundtrack, insane action and storyline. Kinda feels like a tv show in a sense. Thumbs up!

Good game but gets Boring
This game is one of the better ones out this year. It has good graphics, good weapons and good game play. The only thing is it does get boring after a while. The multiplayer is OK but will be forgettable. It is a little bit like Skyrim in the fact that you can hunt swim and skydive. Overall I would recommend it but don't pay $60.00.

Pretty Sick
This game is awesome until the end, no wonder it was nominated for 18 awards. The open world jungle is just gorgeous and beautiful. Feels like the game was inspired in a true to life event. You must own this game guys !!!!
