this game is awesome for many reasons. my reason is .. i like the responsiveness to enemy ai and how they try drive by's and actually want to run you over with their car. another reason is that the graphics are amazing. and you can do like matrix type assault moves. my favorite move is where i dash into an enemy and pump with a shotgun bullet to the face or balls. the in-game music is lame so i replace it with my favorite music on boombox that being hard rock metal music. the sound the enemy makes is awesome its like they actually feel the pain and i like to see them die funny deaths like using mortars and stuff. another thing is the fact you can do whatever you want in the game. you can also use the glide thingy that allows you to air by shooting or sumthn like that i think. but any ways the reason i mainly like this game is for the single player so no one can tell me where to shoot and camp on multiplayer to insure we i win which i dont usually care for.

When i picked this game up from the mall (ebgames). I was so excited to go and play it, when i got home i ran upstairs and turned on my t.v and ps3. When i went through the menu and clicked online and did capture the diamond (Best online game ever). I was blown away on how perfect the online play was it was smooth and everything. When i got killed however i was waiting to respawn to the game that was what got me it was 20 seconds. It's not bad but when your playing a game with a 5 point limit 20 seconds is annoying. The loading in the game is also a little annoying, but other than that i was amazed on everything when the producers said "open world" they meant it the open world is amazingly detailed. The game play however is really fun driving is a little annoying and the short life span too. Overall this game is better than cod4 which i didn't think a game could do. The story is good and the map editor is the best thing detail to how high the mountains peak to the little grass on the ground. My opinion is GET THIS GAME!

This is a very good game. As I said, if you have attention problems or love Halo's multiplayer, you might not like this game. You just need to put in a little effort. Some may argue, "It's a video game, you shouldn't have to put in effort" but they have attention problems. This is not your average game. A lot of previous reviews have called this game boring because of it's big map, or enemies in campaign mode that actually pose a threat. If it's too easy, just raise the difficulty and vice versa. It's a high quality immersive game. I have and play Modern Warfare 2, and almost couldn't care less about anyone in the game but Soap, Price, and Ghost. There is just one problem that really ticks me off. And that's in the Map creator. And it was mostly my fault. Your map needs to pass validation, which I did not know at the time. I spent over seven hours on one map. It didn't pass validation. That actually was completly my fault.

After playing well over 15 hours, I decided to hit the pause button and navigate through the pause menu. I opened up the statistics menu and was blown away. Although not as lengthy as Oblivion, 15 hours of total game time had racked up only 20 percent of the game. Now, for a shooter, this is an amazing amount of time. The Immersion effect that Ubisoft Montreal was working hard to deliver... pulled off. The driving in the game is great, from getting in and out of the car, to repairing the engine. It really FEELS like your inside of the car. From the enemy aspect, they are pretty tough. Seeing as Far Cry 2 is an open world game, enemies can flank, throw grenades, and take cover. They are pretty difficult to put down, also. One of my favorite things about this game is the fire and explosions. "Hm, that town down there has a lot of enemies. Who cares, shoot that tank... nightie night.". Put simply, it's really satisfying.

Okay... I was so looking forward to this game for so long. I was stoked when I finally got it in the mail from Gamestop. I even ordered it early so I'd get the "bonus missions". Well, Its great in so may ways but it is just lacking in the action. I mean you are going from one end of the continent to the other and you end up using rusty weapons the enemies leave behind that end up getting jammed or backfire on you, the enemies are harder to kill than cockroaches even when you put a bullet in their skull, and although it's a good challenge, you feel as if you're doing some things twice. I think if I could go back and buy it again, I'd wait until it was cheaper. It's not as fun or as thorough as some other high-end shooters. It's an awesome game in just about every aspect but as I said, the parts of going back n forth get on your nerves. If you get easily frustrated with repetitiveness, skip this one.

Awesome game. I rented and the next day I bought it. It is that good. The graphics are great and the challenge is almost realistic. Any one who gives this game a bad review has probably no knowledge of video games. They could not tell the difference between Far Cry 2's graphics and a ps1 game's graphics. Anyway back to the game. The cars are awesome even if there is a limited selection of them. I really like the Jeeps. The sound is almost life like with my surround sound speakers. The game looks like a movie on my 42'' plasma screen TV. The only bad thing of the game is.... NOTHING! This game is perfect! I bought it with Metal Gear Solid 4 and there was the best purchase I ever made! If you do not yet have a ps3 you should do yourself a favor and buy these two Game of the year worthy games with it. I am still in shock with how well this game is. Once again DO NOT listen to any bad reviews about this game.
Rated 4 out of 10 by Dazed It's ok but could have been much more.
Well, the game is all right looks good real good that is why its to bad they did not put more work into the storyline. What I did not like in this game was how you had to drive form one place to the next. About 1-2 minutes into you're drive you have to pull over and kill a few people off by the time you get to you're mission you're low on ammo. I have also seen a few bugs, one when a guy that I was firing at somehow got inside a rock and could fire at me and I could not hit him my bullets just hit the rock... I don't like how the game ends if you have played it you know what I mean. Pick one of the 2 choices and that's the end. No more running around trying to get more diamonds unlock more guns because you can't! So make a save b4 the last mission... or you will just start back at the last mission when you finish the game. I would go with COD or something like that if you are looking into this game.

I got Far Cry today and it was wow. The first thing i noticed was that it had a huge map. The graphics were amazing, especially when the "Malaria" Effect is blurring your vision. Second thing is that when they said you can do anything anytime you want, they meant it. You can virtually do anything that you want. You can even kill your friends. Third thing is that it is very realistic. The guns jam as dirt, rust, etc. and will eventually blow up on your face. The cars, if they take enough damage, will stop working and you'll need to fix it, and the car gets dirty over time. When you start a fire it spreads like the real thing, wind even affects how the fire spreads. When you get shot, there are times when you are in your last health bar and you need to take a bullet off your arm or relocate a broken wrist, etc. Fourth thing is that the enemy AI is very responsive. They coordinate their attack just like when they flank you. You need to keep moving or you'll be dead in no time. Overall this game is outstanding. I would recommend this game to anybody who likes playing shooting games.

This game isnt that bad, but its not good either...The Controls are good and easy to get use to, The Storyline is a Long, bumpy, yet awesome road, and not to mention Confusing! The people in this game are too "Up running" . The just tell you your missions and not give any details, plus the game can glitch a lot if your not careful. But the storyline is very Unique. You get to choose a character and set off on a Mercenary job, to Kill the Jackal that has armed both sides and has started a Conflict that could engulf all of Africa. Once you arrive, you end up with a bad case of Malaria, and if constantly have to start taking pills, and once you run out, you end up going on some annoying mission just to get two or three more pills. But this game is not bad game either, You have a variety of weapons that you can buy, the Currency in this game is Rough Diamonds, and its also fun to go treasure hunting because you never know how much you`ll get. and you can get friends in this game that will help you stay alive and keep them for side-quests and all... But this game isnt bad, its worth the money.
Rated 8 out of 10 by FilthMerchant A Gem - Can't wait for Far Cry 3!
If you are reading this review, you are probably on the fence about buying Far Cry 2. I will only tell you one thing: I love this game! I have always been a fan of games with map editors, and that is why I initially picked up this game. But after a few hours of playing, I realized what a great storyline and gameplay it had. The campaign/story mode takes days to complete with many side missions and items to unlock and I always have a great time playing. Multiplayer was a little blase compared to most of the first-person shooters I've played, but it is entertaining for a while. The Map Community and editor were and still are among the most in-depth for creation and publishing of maps, and that is the reason I still often pick up this game to play. The only flaws I found in this amazing game were that it can be a little glitchy at times (nothing that would ruin the game though) and that NPCs have a ton of health. You could literally shoot one of them fifteen times with a pistol before they died. Other than those points, I have found Far Cry to be a veritable diamond in the rough of games.
