Fallout New Vegas: Ultimate Edition
Everything you want all in one place
I have been a huge fan of fallout ever since i got a game console. I followed New Vegas religiously for over a year and it when it finally came out i was the happiest man alive! I already have all the dlc content and small add ons (couriers stash, gun runners arsenal) but just recently was gifter a ps3. It has been a little bit since i have played through New Vegas but every now and then i really get an urge to do it again. Since the Ultimate Edition of this game has come out everyone who likes fallout should be extremely happy! Either you already have all the contnet therefore this doesnt effect you, or you are now getting it all for a cheap price in one single place. Either way this deal is great for anyone who wants a ton of content for an affordablt price and loves challenging games. Theres plenty for everyone here and fallout is a renowned and beloved franchise so if you dont have the dlc for this game the Ultimate Edition is the way to go!
Very Good Game
I love the Fallout series and New Vegas was a really good entry. Sure it has the same graphics as Fallout 3 (no lie) but the overall gameplay changes are amazing. Aim Down Sight is now a function in this game and the new companion system is also a better addition. The Ultimate Edition is really worth buying. You get all of the 4 main DLC (Dead Money, Honest Hearts, Old World Blues, and Lonesome Road) as well as the pre-order bonuses and the Courier's Stash DLC, which adds new attachments for guns. I'd say buy the game, as long as it's Ultimate Edition, mainly because the main DLC costs $15 a piece and the regular game is about $20 now. It'll keep you entertained for about 5-6 months is you're a FPS fan and even longer if you're RPG fan. The only problems I can think of are freezing and dialogue bugs that can mess you up about 12 hours in. Other than that, this game is great!
Now before i get all preachy and stuff,i just have to say that i pre-ordered the game before the ultimate edition, thinking that i would have to buy the goty version of which they didn't make. that being said, this game was amazing by itself, with the dlc's i have gotten ( in total, mind you) 246 hours of gameplay. It's true that it has bugs, and freezes, but they never bothered me unless i played for 8-hours at a time. Even then, they were negligible. overall, great game.
Not As Good As Fallout 3
I decided to wait until a GOTY type edition came out for New Vegas much like I did with Fallout 3 b4 finally trying it out. The DLC was hit and miss. I would say 2 outta the 4 DLC packs were good. The graphics are exactly the same as Fallout 3's which seemed like a lazy Developer kind of move to make. As far as the infamous Glitches you keep hearing about there aren't too many. No more than Fallout 3's anyway. I find that if you simply turn off auto save it will glitch much less. The gameplay and story were kind of repetitive and I personally liked 3's much more. Not much replay value on this game but than agen Fallout 3 didn't have much of that either. All in all a decent game and priced accordingly. I wouldn't waste your money on the Ultimate Edition as 50% of the DLC's were terrible. I would prob wait for a price reduction say 40 bucks and than buy it. Basically if you really liked Fallout 3 like me you won't regret this buy. Just don't expect it to be any better than Fallout 3 expect it to be worse.
Gamestop shout out
I've been waitin for this since the original came out. Same with Fallout 3, got the original and then got the Game of the Year Edition. This message is for gamestop though. Hows about a discount to all those who preordered Fallout New Vegas when it first came out, that would make my purchase of this game all the sweeter. Or maybe like $15 to $20 off the purchase of the Ultimate Edition with the trade in off the original cuz I really dig the new case, but I have already purchased the first 2 DLC packs for New Vegas and fear I may be ripping my self off if I go and pay 50 bucks for a game I already have, just to get a new case and the other 2 DLC packs. My Disc doesnt have a scratch or smear on it and is in basically new condition. The sleeve that goes over the case is a little beat up but it is still in great condition. I wish I had been able to get my hands on the collectors edition when the game first came out though cuz the deck of cards would have been sweet to own as well, maybe there can be a collectors ultimate edition wink wink (doubtfull but hopefull).
Disappointing follow up from Fallout 3
Something about the storyline in this game just did not speak to me. The game itself is good and plays just like Fallout 3 but it falls short of the Masterpiece that is Fallout 3 and leaves you wanting more.
New Vegas was fun
To be honest, i read all the reviews when new vegas was released and got to scared to buy it. Couple months later and i heard most of the MAJOR glitches were patched so i picked it up used. To be completely honest, this game was one of the most enjoyable games i've played in a long while. I HATED Fallout 3. I have no idea why, it was just sooo boring to me. I cant explain really, but this game gave a completely different feeling to it. With the DLC included this game will be way better since you can obviously level up to 50 now. 30 was kinda low in my opinion. Overall the game is great, and challenging. The monsters, for the most part, level up with you. So your never completely overpowering. And once you reach certain monsters, you even get dominated thinking your strong. (it has happened to me a couple times D: )
Basically my point is this game was awesome. People can complain about all the glitches (like the person who also buzzed) but truthfully most of the bugs were patched and the games completely playable. Dont be fooled by haters. This is surely a great game for the price.
THIS should have been fallout 3..
i have played all thegames of the franchise, and they are all amazing, the story is detailed and humorous(who would have ever thought a war that devestate the world would only last 2 hours).Thisgame has some of the factions that stand out in previous fallout games,it evenshares the regin where previous fallout games have taken place(western region). The graphics(eventhough in most cases i dont care about them)are not the best but are good, eventhough you sometimes find all their faces are recycled, the sound is awesom too,and the soundtrack(strictly 50s music)is not what you would except for the year 2277,but amazing, bunch of choices to make, both in story and in personal decisions,so there are alot of playing hours into the game(even if you dedicate a whole day),this game is one of the best i have ever played, and its at a reasonable price of 20 dollars(includes all DLC expansions)all in all,you will not regret buying this game. Enjoy!
Its actually not that glitchy
I've played the game for about 30 hours now and its actually not that glitchy. I've had to restart my system times, but only after playing it for like 6 hours at a time
Fallout3 came short Fallout NV did not
A lot of people like fallout 3 and i admit is was fun but this game is vastly superior now that they have fixed the bugs that plagued it at launch. This game features a huge open world rife for exploration and with lots of choices in the way you complete the main story if you want to complete the main story i prefer to do as many side missions as possible first. Another feature this game uses to improve upon it's predecessor is the ability to aim down sight and a much better shooting mechanic overall plus the addition of gun attachments like scopes or silencers and even some things like oiled trigger, and polished bolt slide. as a side note if you do pick up this game look for the 12.7 mm Sub-machine gun easily the best bullet firing firearm in the game.
