12th Annual Interactive Achievement Awards Winner: Outstanding Achievement in Original Story and Role-Playing Game of the Year Vault 101 - Jewel of the Wastes. For 200 years, Vault 101 has faithfully served the surviving residents of Washington DC and its environs, now known as the Capital Wasteland. Though the global atomic war of 2077 left the US all but destroyed, the residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from the constant stress of the outside world. Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers, and yes, even Super Mutants are all no match for superior Vault-Tec® engineering. Yet one fateful morning, you awake to find that your father has defied the Overseer and left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown. Leaving the only home you've ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father, and the truth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best RPG on PS3 I had heard about Fallout for a long time but never thought to look into it because it didn't interest me, but one day i was on Youtube and saw some gameplay of it and i was hooked instantly.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Its 2014 and this game is still great. back in 2008... I didn't have a PS3. But, when I did get one, I saw this game and passed it over because it was a shooter. Shooters and I don't get along too well. But now that I actually played it, I automatically regret passing it over. The concept of playing in a apocalyptic wasteland is not new ground treaded. And the fact its an FPS is not helping. But, since this was made from Bethesda, the man that created the Elder Scrolls series, balanced it out nicely. The gameplay is that of the Elder Scrolls games as well... except with guns. The atmosphere is empty and desolate. In a good way. Making you feel like you are trekking through a post apocalyptic wasteland. Trying to survive the monstrosities that want your head on a silver platter. The weapon degradation, adds a level of survival aspect to the gameplay. Though, where the game's crows feet starts to show is the gameplay and interaction with the NPC's. I know it came out in a time where no one knew who Barack Obama was, but its still an issue. They all look at you as if they want to kill you with their mind, gazing into your soul. Graphically, they look a bit dated, but its not so bad. And occasionally the frame rate begins to chug for some reason I haven't found out why. All in all, Fallout 3 is fun. Its got character, fast paced action, and you'll spend hours on it. If you can get passed the frame rate chugging on occasion and the NPC's going trying to read your mind, you'll have some fun. I award Fallout 3 the Crypt keepers award for aged entertainment and fun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wholesome fun for everyone! One of my all time favorite games! This was my first introduction to the Fallout series and I've been addicted ever since. Played both Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas more times than I can count, and I can't wait for Fallout 4! I hear Bethesda is once again on the scene, which makes it even all the more exciting!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite Game Fallout 3 is the most addicting game I have ever played. There is always something to do and in the GOTY edition, it does not end. The main quests have a neat story tied to it and once you finish thoses quests, there are plenty of side quests and DLC quests included in the GOTY edition. It's packed full of action and rises in difficulty as the game goes along to not make it too easy or boring. Sometimes it freezes on my ps3 but other then that it's perfect. Fallout 3 is my go-to game to play whenever I don't know what game I should play.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The game for every type of gamer (except kids) Fallout 3 is a game that does everything right. This is a game that can make FPS fans or Third- person shooter fans and even RPG fans feel right at home. The controls are slick and combat is perfect thanks to the fact you can pick to hit the enemy and their weakest points. From Shotgun to Pickpocket to Melee, everything you can level up in Fallout 3 is never useless and is always helpful in any situation. Since it's the year 2013, no newcomer has to worry about the glitches or bugs in the game thanks to patches. Also, the DLC included is very great and will not have you stop playing any time soon. Fallout 3 is the best Open World game and will continue to be in my book.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Game! I previously bashed Fallout 3 in my Skyrim review. I was very very wrong in my original bias towards the game. I picked up a brand new copy of the GOTY edition as well as the New Vegas : Ultimate Edition for the PS3 last friday and it is one of the best games I have ever played. The last time I played was very shortly on the XBox 360 back around 2008 which was also around the same year I stopped playing video games completely. Looking back now I think I was a bit to young and dumb to figure out how to play the game correctly. I was very wrong in my Skyrim review and my previous bias towards Fallout 3. It is a great and amazing game. I really enjoying the game and it is nothing less than great! I highly recommend it for anyone wanting to have a good time.
