For 200 years, Vault 101 has faithfully served the surviving residents of Washington DC and its environs, now known as the Capital Wasteland. Though the global atomic war of 2077 left the US all but destroyed, the residents of Vault 101 enjoy a life free from the constant stress of the outside world. Giant Insects, Raiders, Slavers, and yes, even Super Mutants are all no match for superior Vault-Tec® engineering. Yet one fateful morning, you awake to find that your father has defied the Overseer and left the comfort and security afforded by Vault 101 for reasons unknown. Leaving the only home you've ever known, you emerge from the Vault into the harsh Wasteland sun to search for your father, and the truth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Home Sweet Wasteland Fallout 3 has this perpetual irradiated, dangerous, and eerie atmosphere. But despite never feeling completely safe, the D.C. wastes quickly feel like home. You can go wherever you want, be whoever you want to be. You don't even have to follow the main quest line; there's plenty you can do just by exploring the wastes. The combat is exhilarating, the karma and perk systems are fun, and the health and weapons systems keep your ego in check. Various factions and NPCs make the DC community more realistic in the apocalyptic setting. The Broken Steel DLC is essential. It gives more quests and extends the story even after the main quest line is finished. It's not the most modern game, but it's still an all-time favorite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fallout 3 in 2015 Now, it's been a full seven years since Bethesda came out with the post apocalyptic shooting RPG. and about six since the GOTY edition came out. When purchasing the game I was almost sure the graphics would be like Legend of Zelda OoT. Instead, I was pleasantly surprised to find that it was almost as good as Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. Graphics: 8/10 I played the main story mode for about two hours each night, and finished it in around ten days. While that may disappoint most, I knew that I had countless hours left with all the add-ons. story: 9.5/10 The gameplay made me fear other games because of lack of V.A.T.S. I was so hooked the moment I used it. It made the hard first person shooting easy. The dialogue was usually realistic, and the imbecile AI made me laugh more than necessary.Gameplay: 10/10. The sound was optional. Even though it was amazing when on, sometimes I got tired of the same ten songs one after another. But the guns fixed that. I played my own Spotify, and could just hear V.A.T.S. start and end over my music. And the voice acting was phenomenal. From President Eden to Dogmeat, I felt like they were right there with me. Sound: 9/10. I will, for years to come, play and remember this game. Even having not finished all the add-ons and side quests, I have become emotionally attached to my followers. I will dream one day of saving the Capitol Wasteland yet again. Lasting appeal: 10/10. Overall, this game is still the best after seven years. Overall:10/10

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fantastic Great fun. The world is immersive enough to support an underwheming story, and the V.A.T.S is an excellent change of pace in terms of F.P.S.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Premise and Amazing Detail I never played any of the previous Fallout games until Fallout 3 but that does not stop it from being in my Top 5 video games of all time. This game has an amazing storyline. A lot of attention to detail went into this game and it shows.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Breathtaking I haven't even completed the game yet, and I still consider this to be one of the best games I have ever played. The story is gripping, the gameplay, while it has a few problems, is still pretty good, and the possibilities are endless. If you are new RPGs, you should start with this game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from FallOUT 3 is Better than I once Though Fallout 3 is for hardcore gamer because it takes some time learn how invested points you earn as you level up. Make wrong the chioce will lead to early death in game and be frustrating. If you learn where to invest skill points game is blast to play. Game is open world so Adverture is apart of the game. Well game play is fun and Challenging. It's game that requires a lot of your time. One of best open world games ever made period.
