Dynasty Warriors Gundam
Gundam + Dynasty Warriors = Game worth playing
There's few games I've put as much time into as the Dynasty Warriors series. IT has always been one of my favorites and there's always a lot of playtime involved unlocking all the characters and weapons and such. But after 5 games I've gotten quite tired of fighting my way through the same war with new characters and maps. So I am quite pleased to see the franchise finally branching into a fictional setting rather than being constrained by historical fact. Not too mention all the possible content involved from the many Gundam series. I've played the demo and was not dissapointed, good old DW hack n slash through armies in my Gundam. And they seem to have fixed the "dissappearing soldiers" bug from previous games when too many enemies were on the screen at once (yay for next-gen). Not really anything new as far as gameplay mechanics but should definitely make any Dynasty/Samurai Warriors fans such as myself more than happy.
Not a Dynasty Warriors Fan but I liked the Demo
First off, let me just say I despise most dynasty warriors game. The smashing of light and heavy attack never appealed to me and the gameplay mechanics I found very boring very quick despite the massive amounts of my friends who enjoyed it I could never really get into it. I found it way too hard to keep my attention to this game to find it enjoyable. As for this game(judging from the demo and gameplay videos I've seen), I really enjoy this game. The fighting is slightly more fast paced, there is a little more dynamics of gameplay(ability to fly and such), and the fact that if you're a gundam fan like me, this game is just pure fun. Destroying lots of other mobile suits is just fun and piloting your favorite gundam is always a blast. The fact that epyon is in this game as well has kind of swayed me to actually purchasing a dynasty warrior game though I honestly thought that I never would have.
A fun game that gets repetetive
Fun, but repetitive. The gundams have their own special moves, and vary in the way they fight, but instead of having smart opponents, they dumb them down and send a hundred after you, which is kind of like how the gundam shows are, but they just sit there! The "boss" gundams are a little tougher, but you can even verse 3 of those at once and come out alive. I think I had it on hard as well. The upgrade system needs some work as well...theres just something missing. Also, the story mode is kind of dragon ball style, if you've ever played the budokai or tenkaichi games, a little dialogue and some quick cutscenes, but nothing big, I was pretty much lost because I never played the first gundam. Still, playing with my favorite gundam characters like Heero and Domon made this very enjoyable, and its not really a bad game, just needs improvements, which is why I'll be picking up the sequal!
More than excited!!!
So ive never been a huge DW person, Ive rented them all and played them for a couple days then returned them. The second I saw that DW was going Gundam i did a back flip, this is by far a great idea to start introducing better games to the PS3. The demo was nuts and the games gonna be even better!!!!
Very good for a Gundam game
I have to be honest and say that all the previous Gundam games were very disappointing. When I downloaded this game I wasn't expecting too much and I was surprised to see how fun the game was. Theres armies of enemies to blow up and I love how they included the Gundams from most of the series. I also have to comment on the framerate and say that the game did not lag or freeze up at all even when I was killing 60 enemies at once. The game was very smooth and it wasn't too easy or too hard but just the way I liked it. The only downside of this game that I saw was the graphics but who cares about them when you have literally hundreds of enemies swarming on you.
I was pleasently surprised!
To be perfectly honest, I wasn't expecting much from this game. I figured I'd download it and play for about half-an-hour, then delete it and forget about it, but this game is legitimately FUN. I won't argue that the graphics on this are somewhat lackluster, but you soon forget that when nearly a hundred enemies are on screen, and the framerate stays smooth as silk. I can whip out a twin buster rifle and blow up 50+ enemies, parts and debris and explosions, and the framerate doesn't change a bit. I wasn't looking forward to any PS3 releases...but this really has me interested.
Awesome game! Own Japanese version.
This game is fun and awesome! Controls are easy as can be, Pilots and Mechs level up and gain new abilities and strength. I recently bought this imported for my PS3 and plan to buy the English version as well. There is some heavy storyline interaction, but I don't understand Japanese so could not tell you how well written it is. This meshes together a ton of different Gundam series and all your favorite familiar Mechs. Nothing beats playing in Wing Zero and letting loose with the rifles! Highly recommended! Best gundam game yet!
This game was so bad that it made me write my first review. I bought this game thinking it was going to be like dynasty warriors and it was, to a degree. The game play was meh, while the story was very confusing. Half of the time i didnt know why i was fighting the enemy. I would not recommend this game at all.
fun hack and slash!!!
If u like hack and slash games this is a good one to pick up and play. If ur a fan of Dynasty Warriors and of Gundam than u got a combo here that will prove to be very entertaining. However there will be no online mode to this game and there will be anywhere from 12 to 18 playable characters spaning most of the gundam universe. There are 3 modes to the game includeing versus but u won't be able to play ur freinds online and there doesn't seem to be any downloadable content coming either but a fun game none the less.
Uber fun game
You don't have to be a fan of Dynasty Warrior or Gundam to enjoy this game. This game is fun to have and once you start leveling your first pilot, you will start unlock more Gundams and Pilots to play and you can follow through different storyline. Multiplayer mode is much better than the Dynasty Warrior since it is vertically split. If you have a widescreen TV, this will be nice to play coop mode with a friend. I have been playing the import version since it came out for 4 months. This game simply rocks.
