by AJCk19 Best boss battles in open action-rpg, period!
Pros = a melting pot of great ideas, cool co-op ideas, long
Cons = no difficulty setting, no multi, fast travel is weak
Worth = the sooner you get it the happier your pawn
Let me start off with by saying you can fully enjoy this game without the dlc so no need to be upset about day 1 dlc. With that being said, they need to figure out some sort of patch to add a difficulty setting and add a feasible fast travel. Fast traveling is expensive and not all that effective.
The co-op idea is amazing like sharing pawns and taking on the Ur-Dragon, but then not having a fully functional multiplayer along with it was stupid. Your main pawn can be hired while you are not playing the game. I once came back from going on hiatus on the game and my pawn received 50,000 rift crystals with several players using it. This and defeating monsters, completing quests, and finding them are the only way to get rift crystals without having to pay for it through dlc.
It does a good job taking the best elements from other franchises like the horror from resident evil, big world like elder scrolls, action orientated like devil may cry, huge bosses with big rewards like monster hunter, and defeating monsters like shadow of the colossus.
Some elements it could improve on is the squad base tactics. It is below average compared to your regular war game. The pawns are smart, but you can't program them as good as in final fantasy 12. By the way, if you feel they are talking too much then you can sit them down in a chair and tell them to shut up!

The opening theme Music is the only thing that sucks about this game. There is a slight learning curve, but once you get past that. The game is Epic. And being able to use other peoples Pawns is very cool. (The Rift is a endless place to Window shop for new Companions. You can pick a All-Star to come with you that will help show you the ropes. Or you can pick the 15th man off the bench and show them the ropes, and send them to their master with better Knowledge.

I awaited this game for a long time, and the more I saw it, the more excited I was. Sadly, this game utterly and thoroughly sucks. This game has a mediocre story, to say the least. Usually story is second most importance to me, but it is so agonizingly bad you could quit just from that. Graphics are extremely low resolution, but there is a fair level of detail, even if that detail looks bad. All voice acting is terrible, the soundtrack, especially the start menu song, is either generic or out of place. Gameplay is solid, and gives some fair customization options, but the leveling is shallow, the gameplay is overly difficult, and there is no fast travel! That is just laziness. Even worse, the world is massive, so going anywhere is a chore. To make it worse, the game is brutally hard, so you can rarely move without dying. If you want 3rd-Person hack n' slash action, try the amazing Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning. Add me on PSN if you want to complain about this awful game. ID: Zakhaev1998.
Rated 10 out of 10 by VonderWaffen WOW!!! Finally, an RPG/Action game done right
I was very spectacle getting this game at first, because I have always been a fan of games like Morrowind, Oblivion, Skyrim....(for those that don't know, thats Elder Scrolls 3-5.) And when I seen that Capcom was releasing an Action/RPG I was like......eeeeeeeeeh why not. After picking this game up and playing the very informant intro, I was sucked into the game like no tomorrow, and found myself logging 20+ hours already before I even knew what happened. The game begins with you creating your character, and unlike DarkSouls and Elder Scrolls, this character customization is very thorough. The gameplay itself is revolutionary, and unique. With the ability to assign skills to your weapons, instead of your character, which leaves a lot of room to grow. With 9 character classes for your main character, and 6 for your minion (aka pawn). UGH I could on and on about this game....long story short, get the game. It will be well worth your $63.75 (MA) Believe me, when you buy it, this is a game that you will never send back to gamestop.

5/2/2012 : Ok so ive put in some serious time on the demo now and i have to say, between the demo and videos ive been watching this game is going to be insane. It takes the RPG depth of Diablo or dungeon siege and the environment/great graphics of skyrim, then mixes all that with an almost Dark souls feel. This game will be insane. The weight of weapons and armor just like Dark souls has an effect on combat. The magic is big, the kind of magic you want in ANY game, 3 story ice spears, walls of fire, the works. And for RPG players like me, they have massive two hander swords that look awesome. and flow great in combat. PLUS the character you make in the demo can be transferred into your game once you get it. So really you can start playing it now, 20 days before it comes out. This is the game true RPG fans have been waiting for......now for the bad part.....we still have to wait 20 more days for its release. POWER TO THE PLAYER!

I really only played this game because I like medieval related things. Now don't think I'm a nerd I'm not I just like that stuff. So I start playing and it has this whole pawn system is weird, and they can get pretty annoying. I soon forgot this feeling as I see the graphics on this game. I don't just love Capcom, meaning it's not my favorite game makers. They really made a cool game. This game is really sweet, but as with most games you can't swim (Because it has a brine thing) which is pretty stupid. I like how you can crawl on enemies and stab them, which is an awesome thing to do. All in all I love this game and recommend it to people who like adventuring in caves and plains in games, but to people who play games like red dead redemption they might not like it, MIGHT. Come on, quit sitting and waiting buy Dragon's Dogma or Dragon's Dogma: Dark Arisen!

I'm more of a casual gamer now than a hardcore gamer, but this game grabbed onto me and never let get. I never heard of the game until I was browsing Playstation Network one boring night. I came across the demo and downloaded it that night. The next day after I got off of work, I gave the demo a try and WOW was I surprised. The demo provides you enough gameplay to understand what your getting yourself into. I Didn't want the demo to end. So that same day I bought it and now it being a month or so, i cant seem to take my interest away from it. I finished the game and have started over just to play each vocation. I have played both Skyrim, WoW, and Borderlands 2, and I see myself always going back to Dragon's Dogma.
Give the game a try, and download the demo!
You'll not regret downloading.
If you decide to go out and buy it, the Strategy Guide is a MUST-Have!
Rated 10 out of 10 by Icco Why I love this game so much
My first few hours playing this game was rough, I thought it was too hard. I was following the main quest and was running through the game unprepared. Slow it down, take it slow, explore, harvest, create and combine, learn new skills and buy new armor and weapons. These are ALL things I love to do in a game. It's not grinding, it is finding the game's life center. The Pawn feature is a lot of fun. Encourage your online friends to use your pawn, rate their appearance and battle abilities, etc, is very fun. You can also take screen shots of your best battle moments and share them online.
only con: auto-save and only one save. If you muck something up, there is no going back. You have to live with your decision,
There is SO much to do in this game. If you enjoyed, Fallout 3, Oblivion, Skyrim, Dragon Age you will love this game.
