Classes

As part of creating your Inquisitor, you will be able to choose between three distinct classes. Each comes with a unique set of abilities, weaponry, special moves, and even class-reactive story content. Further, as your Inquisitor grows in power, you will be able to select a specialization. These advanced classes introduce entirely new abilities to your combat repertoire.

Warrior

Battle-hardened and masters of close combat, warriors are pivotal to any group entering battle. As front-line fighters, they absorb the brunt of opponent attacks, steal enemy focus, and create an opening for deadly ranged assaults from other classes. While some warriors prefer visceral, sweeping damage, many are silverite-clad bulwarks, weathering any blows they don't deflect with their shields.

Mage

Those who can tap into the raw energy of the Fade and block the whispering temptations of demons are truly exceptional. When they turn that mental focus onto the field of war, they can be truly terrifying opponents. Rains of fire, walls of ice, or even the ability to heal allies make up a mage's toolkit. Most employ considerable skills rendering foes not only weakened, but also vulnerable to physical attacks, setting up opportunities for their teammates to exploit.

Rogue

Armed with bows, daggers, and any number of dirty tricks, the rogue's primary focus is damage: tearing foes down one at a time with systematic efficiency. Rogues commonly use a mixture of stealth and mobility to reach positions of advantage, be it a sniper's perch away from enemy blades or behind an unsuspecting mage. Deadly and resourceful, rogues can tip the balance of any strategic assault.

Characters

Vivienne

Referred to as Madame de Fer, "the Lady of Iron", Vivienne lives up to her title. A leader among the mages and official enchanter to the Imperial court, she is renowned as a fearsome woman who achieved her position through guile and deft political maneuvering. Vivienne allows nothing to stand in the way of what she desires - not those who claim she is a social climber, not those who seek to restrict her power, not even her fellow mages who would conscript her into a rebellion with which she disagrees. Vivienne fights to restore order in a world gone mad...so long as that leaves her among those left standing, once all is said and done.

Cassandra Pentaghast

Though of noble birth, Cassandra Pentaghast turned her back on a life of wealth and privilege to join the Seekers of Truth. The ancient order serves as a watchful eye over corruption and magical threats, granted ultimate authority in its investigations by the Chantry - or it did, prior to abandoning their duty in response to the mage rebellion. Cassandra did not join her brothers in this, instead remaining loyal to Divine Justinia and her efforts to restore order in the face of chaos. She is both pious and driven, the sword in the right hand of the Divine, seeking justice above all else.

Morrigan

Whether the dark-haired sorceress seeks to influence the Imperial throne, or harbors more sinister motives, no-one knows for certain. This Witch of the Wilds arrived in Orlais rather suddenly three years ago as the newly-appointed "arcane advisor" to Empress Celene. In this role, Morrigan presents a source of information unfiltered by religious dogma, and satisfies Celene's life-long curiosity about magic. However, whispers carry concern of Morrigan having Celene wrapped around her finger, teaching the Empress forbidden, dark arts in secret.

Varric Tethras

Varric Tethras is one part adventurous rogue, one part dashing storyteller, and three parts trouble. Born on the surface, Varric has little love for his underground brethren - all his contacts lie with the dwarves of the Merchants Guild, though he has little taste for their schemes. Still, he has found a place as an outsider, rubbing shoulders with both the wealthy elite as well as the worst of scoundrels. To hear him tell of it, that's all he truly cares about, though anyone who truly knows him claims differently. They say that, try as he might, Varric has been drawn more and more into conflicts that shake the world - ones that he can't get himself out of with a quick tale.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Loved It I absolutely love this game. There were just a few glitches, though that was mainly things not loading up quickly, such as the decor of a room, but they were easily dismiss-able in my opinion. I thoroughly enjoyed playing this game and I'm not bored of it yet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed Change is good, just not for Dragon Age Inquisition. I was really excited about this game, I am a big fan of Dragon Age 2, so it was no small wonder I reserved a copy of DAI. However, after attempting to play through this poor follow up, I realized that the combat system in this game is useless and doesn't add to the experience. I could not enjoy this game for the life of me. I will be trading this game in soon for some thing better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love the game, but hate the glitches... I feel that the game lives up to its expectations. The graphics were awesome, the story line was great. I had some trouble at first, with the new combat system, but once I figured it out, it was all good. My biggest complaint was the glitch problem. I too run a PS3, So I don't know if that was just my system that had the problems, or all. I sure hope they fix the bugs, because I do love the game. I saw where someone had mentioned the lack of useable gear dropping later in the game, but I believe at that point that crafting your own gear is better anyway. So, my final word, I loved it, but until the glitches are fixed, it gets the lower gameplay rating. Happy Hunting All!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Could be great, but it is NOT! I was super excited to play the next game in this series but feel so let down. Game has locked up 3 times. Once at 2 hrs, Once at 12 hrs. And again at 22 hrs. After each freeze (lock up) it locks up my Playstation and I have to unplug it to to turn off and back on. When I do finally get it back all my saves are not loadable. They are in memory on console but game does not recognize them and I have to start over. Add this too the dozens, maybe even a hundred times it has froze during gameplay, makes this game the biggest disappointment in gaming in years. What a joke. Wish I could get my money back but too late. Just traded it back in for 1/3rd of what I paid for it. Sooooo disappointed. I only gave it 2 bars because when it did play it was cool.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from It is OK for Single Player but could be better. This review is specific for PS3 and not played on PS4. There is a lot of bugs that still need to be worked out. There are a lot of loading issues... sometimes it takes awhile for the layers to load. There is also issues with the jump function and this is major flaw since you do a lot of jumping in the environment. There are also a few glitches with the party AI when standing in doorways... you sometimes get blocked in a room. So now that is out of the way. Lets go with story line. Most of the game the story is the same and is not completely dependent on what character you choose to play as... which is way different then the past Dragon Ages. I also missed the level up options on where I wanted to put my attributes like strength and dexterity. I played through this game twice and realized it is quite massive its just that massive. There could have been more things going on with other races like elves and dwarfs again like in Dragon Age 1. This game seems to be very familiar with Kingdoms of Amular. Three fourths of the way to the game there were no more magic drops, usable new weapons or armor... also not much to customize after a certain level. The ending was pretty anti-clamatic again like Amular.... just didn't seem like the developers knew where to finish the game at and put more in the beginning and the middle and not much in the end. After playing this game twice all the way through in both the Mage/Templar story lines I thought it could have been done way better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Best DA yet I think like most of you I was a little put off by the delay of the next DA. Well, I can say it was well worth the wait. This is the best one yet. A must have, must play type of game.
