Disney Infinity captures the essence of the Disney world, in that each play set isn't the same play with different characters. EVery play set has unique dynamics to it. Incredibles is more of a heroic, hand to hand battle superhero game, while Monsters University has more scavenger based missions with the elements of stealth, and Pirates brings in sailing and ship battles, along with sword and gun play. Basically you have three games in one to start with and that's not even mentioning the Toy Box. Toy Box is great because if you can imagine it, you can create it. If you can't imagine it though or are having a tough time with the building you can always download pre-built toy boxes to enjoy and explore. The only true downside is that if you want to play multiplayer in the play sets you have to buy extra figures, but the easiest way to solve that problem, especially on a budget is to save up and buy a triple pack (Sidekicks or Villains) and then you're good to go.

Rated 3 out of 10 by SoCali For those hardcore Disney people
I bought this game for my son, and sat down with him while he played it for 90 minutes. I was bored very quickly. From what I can tell, the main focus of this game is on the toybox mode. That is where you build your own area. I have never cared for those games, which is why my friends could never get me into farmville. The missions, or adventures as this game calls them are really easy. If you are going to do the toybox thing you must play those and pick up the parts you need to build. The only people I can see liking this game are the hardcore Disney fans, and those that like playing games where you build your own world. I already want to take the game back. I don't have my PS3 hooked up to the internet, and it seems you need that to really get anything out of this game. In order to get more people into this game, Disney is going to need to add way more to this.

Just got the game. Installed everything. Started it up. NO SOUND! Played through the intro stage with no sound. Figured it was just that part. Nope. Loaded a playset and still no sound. Did a quick search online and this was the least of my problems. Various problems over all platforms. PS3 - Sound issues, game crash, and corrupt save data. XBox - Sound issues. Wii - Sound issues and single player toy box only. Not only did the game sound not work, it completely killed the sound for my PS3. Nothing in the PS3 menu makes sounds now. I tried setting up my sound options on the PS3 menu, still nothing. Resetting the PS3, nothing. The game is broken and it broke my PS3. For now I'm not gonna play it until a "fixed" update is available. Do not buy the game until this update is available. Really disappointing.

I really wanted to play this game. It has been unable to sway my opinion that this is a shameless Skylanders rip-off. I purchased the starter, both adventure packs, two packages of power discs, a strategy guide and a stand-alone character. The retail for everything was $200.00. I have had to sit through the five-minute intro four times now because my saves are all corrupted. I suppose it really doesn’t matter, since I haven’t actually been able to play the game since it crashes REPEATEDLY. Of the eight crashes I experienced, I was able to load a save twice only for it to corrupt on subsequent play attempt. There is no tech support number. I found the number to Disney Interactive (The game part of Disney) only to find out their tech support is only Monday – Friday. I’m not sure why they chose not to staff their tech support ON THE DAY IT IS RELEASED! When I tried to use the internet help function at Disney.com/infinity, I did not receive any confirmation. Of course I opened all $200 worth of product, so no one will return this piece of junk. I just found out Disney posted on Facebook that the PS3 version has been broken by the latest patch. It’s a shame I don’t have a facebook account! No way for me to get this information. They should’ve posted this on the Disney Infinity site instead of on Facebook.

Sure this is designed to be a money making machine. Keep adding sets, figures, disks, etc. BUT what a wonderful experience. I appreciate when someone takes the effort to build a great game for those of us who aren't skilled at hardcore games out there. I don't have kids, but love this game. I am a Disney addict since childhood. The actual game parts are great, but where this really shines is in the Toybox section. Having Captain Jack riding on an Incredibles Hoverboard, while shooting Buzz Lightyear's Blaster at the Queen of Hearts 3 of Spades guard, just so you can clear an area to build Scrooge Mc'Ducks money bin is just plain awesome!

I was looking forward to this as game that could make Skylanders step up a bit in their future games. However, Infinity has disappointed me. The camera can be a bit annoying at times. Also, jumping on ledges is very annoying from time to time. The one review on here says that the characters can be used almost anywhere which is not true. In the actual story mode they can only be used in their worlds. You can not take Sulley into The Cars playset. Which is a big let down. On Skylanders they can be used in any level. I would really try this somewhere before you buy it.

This game is amazing! It may take elements from skylanders and minecraft, but then again minecraft took ideas from infiniminer. But anyone who loves to create would love this so if you love to create and you have the money it's well worth it but the one draw back of this game is that the narrator is so annoying and you. Can't skip the 10 minute tutorial

Rated 1 out of 10 by cheesyrabbit bought for two players, can't use it
We paid $75 for this game. It claims you can play two player and I wanted to play with my son, but when we tried it with the characters it came with it said we had the wrong character. It only lets you use characters of matching stories and conveniently doesn't include two that match one of the stories it comes with.
