Money well spent
I was honestly expecting to not like this one at all. Having played the original 2 on PC and heard friends say this one sucked I thought I would just hate it. Not so... I enjoyed it almost as much as the first. If it would have had the capability to dig deeper and a longer story it probably would be right up there with the original.
Overall I would say it's more action than the first, BUT the boss fights are like hitting a telephone pole on a smooth drive in the country when your into the sneaking part. Just when you think you can get away with weapons customized for quiet kills you find your going to need a real boom stick to keep handy. The weapon mods are OK. The inventory limitations can be a hair frustrating but evens it out so your not carrying half a armory around. The mini-games are not to difficult but I would prefer leveling in the skills makes it easier to do things like hack, not restrict me from them until I level up to the highest one.

Haters Get a Takedown.
Okay, so I waited until I finished the game through a few times before posting up a review. I must say, coming from someone who detests FPS-type games, this game is amazing. What attracted me to it was the stealth aspect of the game because I'm a huge fan of Metal Gear Solid. It took me a while to get used to the controls at first, but once I had everything down the experience was great. Now I'm literally 3 trophies away from another platinum trophy, but I can honestly say I'd still play it again after that and take different routes through it. The story is excellent, despite being that cliche "boy needs to go get his girl back" storyline. The weapon's you have to choose from are pretty good, ranging from a standard pistol, shotguns and machine pistols to combat rifles, Plasma rifle and an awesome laser rifle, to name a few. What kept me coming back was the fact that it made me -think- about what I was doing. It's been a long time since I've had a game challenge me mentally. All these new ones coming out are simply "Okay, here's your enemies, mow 'em down." In this, if you mowed them down, some people in the game wouldn't be too happy. Every decision has an outcome, positive or negative. And some choices hurt more than others.
All in all, pick this up. You won't regret it, unless you don't like to think.

Bad reviews don't understand the game.
Ok so first off, this game is meant to be more of a STEALTH game than action rpg **cough people who mention borderlands and other action games cough ** That also addresses the leveling up/low ammo complaints. You are meant to have to choose your upgrades carefully, not get everything and become superhuman. And you aren't meant to mow down every enemy with a machine gun. One of the games achievements is to go all game without killing a single person (minus bosses). Does that sound like a shoot em up to you? I love having to sneak passed everyone and find ways around the areas you go through. I saw comments about dying easily too. How many times can you people get shot without dying? If he can take ten bullets in a row before dying he sounds pretty tough to me. And finally, my biggest issue is the graphics complaints. As a programmer, let me tell people that they have NO IDEA how hard graphics programming is. Trying to make the graphics overly polished would have taken tons of hours out of gameplay development. And if people dislike the graphics they clearly never played the original. This game was great. Its about the story and the choices you make (which have real effects on the game world, not just the illusion of it). No spoilers, but at the start of the game you have to meet your boss at a helicopter. I was taking my time reading and exploring everything, and let me tell you, that severely impacted my game. But see for yourself. If you like games with real story and strategy instead of mindless shooting and magic shields that make you near impervious to bullets, you'll probably enjoy this.

Excellent job on a classic game!
This game is amazing! It's almost a genre on its own. If you are looking for a COD kind of game then this is not for you. I am a fan of the original Deus Ex and I love the fact that they respected that essence. If you want to get the most out of it you need to explore as much as you can, read emails, talk to people, and look for alternate routes to your objective. The third-person takedowns of your enemies are great, as well as the cover technique. Love the music, the graphics (although compared to other games they might look a little behind). The acting could use a little work, but it stills delivers the emotions of the characters. The game lets you choose the way your character interacts with others and it can almost be an extension of you. Anyways, I loved the game and it was worth the wait. Don't get it if you just want to shoot people and blow up stuff. This is something else. Congrats to the Eidos team! I was not dissapointed!

its okay at best
If your looking for a different story in a game type we've all played before then this is the game for you. the game combines rpg elements with fps action but it didn't do it as well as borderlands did at really combing those elements. when you get a praxis point you can spend on upgrades like lifting heavy objects, hacking computers, and recoil reduction but the upgrades are not as deep as most of us gamers would like. The game itself is not very long even if you complete all the side quests during the first playthrough taking around 10-15 hours to complete. The game boast several different endings but you can view all the endings simply by saving before you choose one and then after you've seen it load it back and watch the other endings (and by the time you've got to the end you just don't want to play through again anyway). Side quests are to short and there are not enough of them the city hub environments are bland and limiting, but there is some good to be found in the game there are few different ways to complete a mission such as sneaking, straight forward assault, and stealth take downs. Here is an example if there are to many guards guarding a door that you need to get into you throw a concussion grenade and then take them out or you can hack a computer and reprogram there sentry robot to attack them. All in all the game had some good ideas but it just didn't do well at getting them across. I would only recommend this game if your bored of the games out there right now and just have to have something to play.

GREAT!!!!
This game is great so far. I have not finished it yet, so I am going to base this on what I have seen so far. First, those who claim that this game is dumb, must have no skill in such a game. Odds are they thought it would be another CoD or BF3. Something which while fun, requires little skill over all. This game is a cross between a shooter/rpg/stealth. It has lite RPG elements which come into play with your Augs, as well as in your interactions with people. The stealth factor makes me think of a cross between Splinter Cell/Metal Gear Solid. Which in my opinion is well done. If you get seen, or found its due to your actions, not some hidden AI making the choice when you pass an invisible line. Now for the shooter aspect, while in truth I have had little reason to use my gun, due to me using stealth to sneak up on all the people and knock them out with physical attacks. Or kill them if you wish. Both ways of which show of some very cool animations. Being I am working on playing with out killing anyone, I have only seen a few of the kill animations before a quick reload. Though in truth I think I am doing so in vain. Due to the fact I used my guns at the start of the game, and it seems I should not of done so. As to the person who whined about there being no ammo, well I seem to always have plenty. I guess you either can't shoot, or are just holding the trigger and saying a prayer in hopes of getting kills. Anyway, anyone who is a GAMER will find a lot to love about this game. It has much to offer in a wide area of game types. So if you can, by all means pick this title up. I am still in the starting area, but from what I have read, it seems there are new areas to see later on in the game. I just hope this has a long story and not something like 6 hours. Which so far seems to be the case. Being a longer game that is. All in all this was something I was not planning to buy, Having done so I am very happy with my purchase. Buy this game if you know what fun games are.

Better than the original!
It's been a bit of a rough road for Square Enix lately, but with Deus Ex Human Revolution, they totally deliver a game that gives good homage to the original, while giving a great story and excellent gameplay. The graphics are good, but not the best, however thats not what to look for with this game. The graphics are just fine for delivering the story and awesome gameplay.

The Best of the series
This is the best of the series they have taken everything that was good from the original and combined it into an awesome thought provoking title. This is a must have four just your education purposes read all the e-books in the game and you will then understand. I didn't see how they could go wrong with both edios Montreal and square enix together.

This game is excellent and a breath of fresh air.
I have only played the game for about the equivalent of 20 hours and I have barely scratched the surface of how crazy this game is. Dead bodies don't disappear, head shots counts as head shots, and the game is hard but not sop hard you don't want to play it. The graphics are pretty good the only issue I have is the animations are a bit stiff as well as the voice acting. They need to learn to pace the dialogue and give the ability to speed it up or slow down. Anyone who develops FPS's please think about how long your game is and how much depth there is. If you are even not sure at all check this game out.. I would recommend this to anyone who likes chess and FPS.
