Product Details:

Dead to Rights: Retribution is a visually stunning 3rd person action game, rich in story, character and brutal combat. The game follows vice cop Jack Slate and his canine companion Shadow as they fight to expose the shadowy figures of Grant City and bring order back to the crumbling metropolis. Deadly on their own, Jack and Shadow are even more formidable as they team up to defeat the threats they will uncover.

  • Two Playable Characters:
    • Vice-Cop Jack Slate - Pick off enemies with your side arm or get up close and personal and take them down with your bare hands
    • Shadow - Sneak up on enemies and kill them silently, or rip into a group and flush them out for Jack to take down!
  • Satisfyingly Brutal Disarms/Takedowns:
    • In the face of danger, turn your enemies' weapons against them with aggressive disarms or execute all-new lethal takedown moves!
  • Fluid Combat System:
    • Seamlessly blends ranged combat with most robust brawling system ever seen in a shooter! Pump enemies full of bullets or destroy them up close...the choice is yours
  • Intense Hand-to-Hand Combat:
    • Take on enemies with branching combos and counters or throw them into each other!
    • Engage multiple enemies at one time with the "360 hand-to-hand" feature
  • Fast-Paced Gunplay:
    • Shoot it out from cover, blind-fire around corners and use enemies as agile human shields or dynamic cover!
  • Captivating Neo-Noir Storyline:
    • Take on the Grant City underworld as vice-cop Jack Slate in an in-depth, character-driven storyline
    • Combining classical storytelling with advanced game design techniques to immerse the player in a compelling journey

    Game Informer Rating:

Rated 8.0 out of 10 by Game Informer.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from starts off cool then sucks the game starts out kinda fun then starts to get old around the 4th level. cheap graphics, sometimes glitchy, the dog mission are annoying and highly impractical. he looks like he doesn't even belong in the game like he was just stamped in. don't buy you will be disappointed.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Honest review The thing is this game is terrible. Dead to Rights 1 and Dead 2 Rights were decent games. This? Oh god. When I first started I was having fun the hand-to-hand combat was fun as heck. Playing as Shadow (the dog) was fun as well. The story is just . . . bad. The game is unbelievably ugly. Let's not forget repetitive. Worst of all BUGGY! Eventually you can't even do hand-to-hand combat anymore because all the enemies shoot you and you die before you can even hit him. I mean that as in one shot and dead. Now on to glitches. There are some enemies that were invisible and I don't mean I couldn't find them I mean seriously invisible. I saw the flashes of the guns but no gun nor person to shoot the gun. + Shadow segments are fun - Very buggy - Very ugly - Very very very repetitive

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Retribution is Inevitable This game is awesome. It offers a good story line with great graphics. Not only that the action and diversity of the ways u can do things brings this game to a whole new level. Playing as both Jack and Shadow gives you a never boring action/roaming system. You never grow tired of the takedowns and fighting style of Jack while shadow offers a extra set of fighting possibilities uniquely his own.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Solid but not perfect This is a great TPS shooter game. There are a few minor flaws which are not a very big deal. also i wish that you would be able to stealth kill as well if you're playing with jack. but seriously i enjoyed playing as shadow much more than jack. and thats not suppose to happen. but like i said, solid but not a perfect game...

Rated 4 out of 5 by from awesome (first playthrough) see below its awesome to plat through once but the second time it gets boring unless you like to beat games and either play to get a higher score play on a higher difficulty or if just like the game alot i like it because it has alot of melee combat the only problems i had was that the guns can only hold like what 2 clips and yu may miss grapples often but the fact that the melee is smooth and there is a wide array of combos disarms and takedowns and that the actualy helps you out alot wheyther you command him or not although the ability to switch between jack and shadow at anytime would be nice but it was pretty fun to make fim hold a guy still so i could go in for a better headshot attempt

Rated 4 out of 5 by from retribution i thought this was a pretty good game.i thought the fighting cutscenes were pretty awesome although very repetetive.the controls are pretty easy to learn.the storyline left a bit to be desired.the hardest part is that ammo is hard to come by when u need it the most,u pick up a gun and only have a few bullets before u run out.i have only played one other dead to rights game and that was the one on ps2.i thought that game was horrible.retribution is a huge improvement over that game.i really enjoyed playing as shadow the dog.its the first game i have played that u can play as an animal, chase people down and maul them to death.if the storyline was longer i think this game would be perfect.i beat this game in about 8 hours over 2 days.it still fun to go back and play levels.overall i would recomend this game to anyone.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Dead to Wrongs I was a huge proponent of Dead to Rights on the PS2 because of the games great story, good gameplay and vulgar language of course but DTR Retribution is just deplorable. The story is so vague and jumps all around leaving the player lost in transition at points and the voice acting is an absolute joke. The gameplay is very repetitive and they took away the slow motion jump shooting, I mean come on now REALLY! That's what made the first DTR games so enjoyable and multifaceted. All in all the game is pretty bad and I would not recommend buying it at all. To prove how bad the game is, when I walked into the eb games store in my area to purchase it, on its second day after release, the sales rep told me he had a used copy that I could purchase because the guy that just purchased it said it was so bad that he couldn't continue through the whole game.
