by spookytooth22 Isaac is not OK (in a good way)
I have been following this game for a year now, keeping up on new little tidbits and here is what I can tell you: Its gonna be a blast! The story is going to be very macabre, Graphics are better, New weapons like the javelin gun and rivot gun look slick, kinda liked it with no speaking from isaac but well see about that, Multiplayer looks sick since you get to play as human or necromorph which is supposed to play a bit like left 4 dead which i have not played. You get to dig into the unitoligist story more, and Isaac. Isaac is not ok. He is going through major dementia in this round and that brings more dread into the story. Is he going to make it mentally? With the release of dead space aftermath on disc(thats right a movie) I belive that Isaac will NOT die, but may suffer more than you think while still steady to return for a part three. The film Takes place right after the end of dead space 2. Regardless what happens you will have buckets of gore jump scares a macabre storyline and more area to venture about. Buy this game cause it will be worth the money unlike HALO which is good as a coaster.

Gameinformer's new issue features the epic Dead Space 2 and some of the new features that are included. From the screen shots and story line, this game is going to make the USG Ishimura's size look minuscule. One of the new weapons includes an impaler which will spear you enemies to walls. Ever wonder what a necromorph child would look like? Not to strong solo, but they attack in large groups. Enemies will be bigger, badder and more plentiful than the first game. There will not be as much if any zero-g jumping, you will now actually experience the full sphere of movement in zero-g. Isaac also does not "hey, go here, do this" in this installment. He will find survivors on the station and send them instead. Isaac himself is also suffering from delusions as being in such close proximity to the marker during the first game. This game is going to raise the bar on the video game horror genre much like its predecessor. There is also a docking station on the station which looks like the USG Ishimura might make an appearance. Happy hunting.

I had never even heard of the game dead space until I just happened to pick it up by chance at gamestop. Even then I didnt play it for a couple weeks after I got it because I got like 6-7 other games at the same time. The first time I played------MAN, I am a huge fan of the resident evil games and others like that ever since I got my origional Playstation when I was 18 back in '97. Then in '00 I got my PS2 while in the Army and contiued to love this type of game. I was late getting my PS3, just like a month ago, and if Dead Space was the only title available it still would have been worth it! This is the best game I have ever played!!! I hope DS2 is at least as good or better and I also hope that EA does alot more advertising with DS2 than they did with the first so they can attract alot larger of a following. I had never seen a single ad for the first. I am extremely happy that I picked Dead Space out of the blue because this game is AWSOME!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you EA and others for these 2, and hopefully more great Dead Space games!!
Rated 10 out of 10 by TOPHINATORMAN I'm doing this review with little time played.
I have only completed the first chapter of this game and have not played the original Dead Space but WOW! What a great game! I got it for $15 at Gamestop and talk about value. I know the price has been dropping significantly and I'm not quite sure why. The "dismemberment" aspect of this game adds a whole new dimension to gaming. It's become more realistic because me shooting an aliens leg or arm off affects his ability to attack me. More games especially first person shooters should consider this to make their games more realistic. After just a single chapter of this game, the visuals and sounds along with the creepy aliens really sets up the environment that you are in. Some people said that this game is too scary...that's why it's call DEAD SPACE! I was on the edge of my seat while I was playing because I did not know when an alienmutant might jump out and attack me. I recommend this game and would assume that Dead Space 1 is just as good if not better because the price is nearly the same as this game but that does not reflect the value of Dead Space 2.

This is a really good game, but there are a few parts that they should have spent just a little more time on. teh good parts are that it will keep you on the edge of your seet the whole time and it keeps taking crazy turns that you will never see coming, it also give you some very good puzzles that you will need to solve and they are garenteed to keep you scratching your head. The one thiong that i think they should spent a little more time on is the multiplayer. I know that it probably was not the big thing that they were trying to get right in this game, but it was just bad, it was kind of fun for the first five minutes then it gets boring. The human side is wayy over powered and they will end up winning almost every sigle game you play in. So i think that if you dont care about the multiplayer and really dont care about the replay value then this is a good game for you.

i wanna start out by saying dead space 2 is one of the best survival horror games i have played this generation if not ever. easily beats out resident evil. That franchise has really let me down since resident evil 4 and 5 and 6 was terrible. Dead space 2 has amazing graphics, sound, scare factor everything is amazing havent tried online or anything like that so i dont know what its like. i wish it was a bit longer it only took me 8 hours to beat but i still am not done with it. i got alot of trophies to get and i wanna fully upgrade my RIG and some weapons. after i beat a game i usally dont wanna play through it again but dead space 2 is different it is one of those games that is impossible to get tired of however there is some puzzles that will make u wanna pull your hair out. i highly recomend this game but play the original first or you will be completely lost.

This game has major improvements over the first game, and I dont usually see a sequal do better than the first game, but this game is an acception. The game isnt story focused, but basically Issac Clark, your protagonist has went crazy and is having a hard time getting over his deceased girlfriend. The story is maybe 8-10 hours long, but there is alot of replay value. Dead Space 2 is a rather linear game, but this is not a bad thing. Thoughtout the entire game you will fighting off different types of necromorphs, and these are the primary creatures you will be facing. Also the game has a big variety of weapons/ suits you can collect and buy, and you will be able to upgrade them, which adds more replay to the game. Ammo and health maybe scare (depending and your difficulty), but on easy and normal difficulty you wont have that problem. There is also a multiplayer option, but I can easily say that its very boring an nobody plays it anymore. In the end the game is very fun and highly recommendable if you like Sci-fi horror games. If you want the full story play Dead Space 1, and I think a Dead Space 3 is in the making.

I've beaten the first DS multiple times and it never gets old, definitely the scariest game I've played. The musical score was also one of the best I've heard in a video game. When I heard about DS2 I was so psyched! In the videos I've seen the graphics look amazing, but graphics aren't what make the game great it's all about the gameplay and storyline. The storyline of the original DS was great and very intriguing. Gameplay was even better with necromorphs jumping out when you'd least expect it and you having to blast them away with the all powerful Plasma Cutter and many other awesome tools. I only hope that DS2 will be able to succeed as well as the first game. I've been disappointed with many franchises and game sequels lately, FFxiii, Dead Rising 2, Black Ops, etc. Visceral has a knack for making scary games though so lets hope for the best!!!

Seeing many previews, launch trailers, demos and betas, and along with playing just the first Dead Space, I knew the 2nd one would come out eventually and in just a week, we'll have the Plasma Cutter back in our hands along with the new talking Isaac! With the multiplayer coming out as well, I knew EA wouldn't be stupid enough to let that take away from the game like ACB did, it was a great game and a great multiplayer experience, but I believe it fell short with the new introduction of MP. Enough of the Stealth-Action based franchise, as it says on my Preview Summary, this IS Survival Horror redefined, and any of you who say otherwise, play Dead Space the whole way through this time, because Impossible mode was almost literally Impossible for many, and I still got scared knowing just one necromorph showing up out of no where could tear me apart. Even though I wanted to get this on PS3, I will be getting it for PC because I feel I'm just not used to the controller on shooting games, although for those of you who are thinking of going from PS3 to PC on this game, no matter what, you're going to get the same, intense, scary experience the first Dead Space gave you.
