Dark Souls II
Great Installment to the Franchise
Pretty much every aspect that made Dark Souls was carried over or improved upon and it has resulted in this masterpiece. It carries a lot of what made Demon's Souls too which is actually a good thing. Fans of Dark Souls AND Demon's Souls will be very happy with the amount of references to the titles AND how difficulty has been ramped up from the first Dark Souls. As for new players, Dark Souls II offers a way to help get them into the game much easier than the first two titles. There are a few minor changes I didn't like or could be worked on though. For starters, the enemy ai being smarter. This is a real good thing but it comes with the price that every now and then you die when you shouldn't have. This is due to the ai trying to lock onto you so their hit box just smashes you while their image is not 100% on you. The other complaint is the hit detection and this comes with the fact it feels much like Demon's Souls. Almost always you will make contact but once in a blue moon it will cost you dearly because it doesn't pick up. Most of the time you won't even encounter these problems anyways so I wouldn't even worry about it.
Superior/Inferior To Dark Souls
Dark Souls II is both a big step up from Dark Souls one as well as a big step backwards. For starters this game lacks the difficulty that made DS1 as good as it was. It's not to say that DS2 isn't a difficult game, it just seems to have been toned down in comparison to DS1. As for Dark Souls II's enemies and bosses they're kind of hit and miss. Some of bosses in this game are a little dumb for lack of a better word while some are very unique. As for overall gameplay, it is every bit as good as you would come to expect from a Dark Souls game. The graphics alone are a HUGE improvement as this game looks simply amazing. The new engine it runs on is one of the biggest things that make Dark Souls II superior to Dark Souls I. As a veteran of Dark Souls I and as a person who has invested over 500+ hours into that game I can safely say this game will not disappoint. Any die hard Dark Souls fan would luv to play this game, and not regret buying it Brand New. Casual gamers or people new to this series may want to rent it on Red Box or buy it used as it may not be for them.
i am confused
game informer said it will be rated M and gamestop said it will be rated T i am confused . make up your mind!
Why isn't it for PS4???
This seems like the type of video game a lot of PS4 (rpg fans) users would love to see. I can't imagine why they wouldn't make it for "current gen" consoles. Are they purposely trying to make the PS4 a game-barren console? (Because I am finding it increasingly difficult to play with my PS4 if there's only don't starve, CoD, and Battlefield.
Praise the Sun!
All you evil invaders beware! My pre-order is in and I will be waiting to strike you down! Also, always remember, kids, magic is for the dishonorable. Steel is the way of the warrior! P.S Dark Souls games are best played while listening to Dio or Machine Head... You're welcome.
Will it come out later on ps4?
This might be wishful thinking but I'm hoping that they come out with a dark souls/dark souls 2 hd bundle for ps4. I'd be the first one to pre-order if they did. These games are awesome. The black armor edition looks really cool.
Oh my Gosh...
I am so excited about this game because I have played dark souls one at a friends house before and it was awesome but I couldn't buy it for myself because it was rated mature. But this dark souls is rated teen so I can get it!!!!!!
Souls is the best series of this generation, IMO!
I am beyond excited for Dark Souls II! I remember playing Demon's Souls at my cousins house all the time. I didn't have a PS3 at the time so I couldn't get it for myself. Dark Souls was amazing and I have a feeling Dark Souls II will be even better. If you're into extremely challenging games that actually make you feel accomplished and rewarded after making progress, this is definitely your game. If you don't get it, you're missing out on a masterpiece. Let's just say I'm more stoked for DS II than I am Destiny! Easily going to be best game of the year.
It's a sad day for the souls fans.
The game is being built for those who had trouble playing the first 2. The game holds the those of the players. It's sad because I loved the first 2 & it's getting watered down because of people who think it's hard.
Going to be Epic
When Demon Souls came on the PS3 I was amazed on how awesome the game was. Then I heard about Dark Souls and thought that it would be very hard to beat its predecessor. I was wrong. Dark Souls went above and beyond. It could possibly be the most challenging game out there on the market but even though you die you keep coming back for more. From what I read and seen from the beta Dark Souls 2 will be epic. The leveling system has changed by adding a few more categories and I hear that the environment are going to be changing as you progress. Not to mention the online play will improve. This game may put the other two 2 shame. So looking forward to this and have already preordered it.
