Ok I love aircraft, huge WWII buff, heck I joined the military specifically to work on fighter jets. So I am crying out for a really good flight sim/arcade game. This isn't it. The story is super cheesy, if you win you still lose?, because the story doesn't work right if you win the mission? it's just painfully badly written. The flight controls are plain stupid in arcade mode, pitch and rudder on the same stick and ailerons and speed on the other? Really? You don't turn with the rudder, you can slide the nose over a bit with it to walk the plane but not turn. So that is backwards, can we custom assign controls for the love of God! Simulation mode fixes this issue and moves rudders and throttle to the shoulder buttons. Landing is hilarious, if and when you even get to, just kinda get close or whatever... This game isn't worthy of making the flight stick and the flight stick looked so poorly designed that I skipped on that. This game misses on some basic levels that have already been covered in other games as the minimal requirements for flying games; custom controls, basic realism (you can fly through some things and flying through wreckage is chill), and pick story or history, not both. I need to find a PS3 version of birds of Steel to make a comparison on that, supposedly markedly better. We will see. This will bore you fast, looking for a check, no franchise here.

not a sim by any means, very arcade style of gameplay. if there was even one person in the development team that had a clue about aviation this game would have been much better. the graphic suffer from a total disregard of the parts of a aircraft that move. sound is what i would have expected from a older game. however, once you get past the cheesyness of it its a fun game to run through one time. has no replayability.
