My friend introduced me to the second game of the series, bound in blood. While it was great, very cool and different from other westerns, I don't think this one will be. To set the record straight, this game is not a copy of Red Dead Redemption, by no means at all. First of all, it's a first person shooter, and while the games before it were "old western", this one is not. That's the second thing, my primary downer on this title, the "future". I'm having trouble coping with them jumping timelines to present day from the old western FPS it was. I would rather have liked to see another western with a great story (like the two before it) and some really sick multiplayer. Who's with me? Western first person shooter? I'm down, but unfortunately, Techland isn't. Heres high hopes that at least Dead Island won't disappoint. Come on Techland!

I had high hopes for this game from the original CG trailer that was put out. When gameplay vids started showing up I got a little nervous..."It can't be that bad, right?" Well it is. The gunplay is much improved from BiB but the graphics are terrible and blurry which makes it hard to see what you need to shoot. The lettering onscreen is white and straight outta dos and the checkpoint markers are white dots, It's as if they took all their production money and spent it on cover art. The characters are all stupid stereotypes. And swearing in Spanish is no cooler than swearing in English. That's pretty much what this game has to offer, bad graphics, bad production, and a "How to swear in Spanish" lesson for $60. Don't do it. I'll teach you for free and I bet my kid can make a prettier picture to look at.

So far playing The Cartel. I dont think this game is bad as most people make it out to be, but its definately not perfect either. The main thing I have noticed is that the sound hiccups alot. Theres some jaggys on a few things in the environment. Gameplay can feel clunky sometimes especially if its a fast paced mission or shoot out. So far though the storyline has been pretty interesting and I have actually been really enjoying this game even though it has a few glitches. I have not downloaded any patches for this game yet so they could have fixed some of the issues I have experienced. This game isnt that bad as long as you know it has some issues and you can get it for less than 20 bucks. There are definately way worse games out there.

Going into this game, I did not have high expectations. Game Informer gave it a 4 out of 10 and the average rating on this site was a 4.3; however, I was pleasantly surprised by certain aspects of the game. It is not the greatest shooter of all time but it is satisfactory. There are a large array of weapons to choose from: assault rifles, submachine guns, sniper rifles, and the ability to carry two pistols and they do not have to be the same kind. So the shooting aspect was nice, but the game became very redundant: you drive some, get out, kill people, and then go to the doors and wait on your partners so you can bust through and go into concentration mode which by the way is practically useless. It lasts for about six seconds and you're lucky to get three people. "Bound in Blood" had a better system for that. I'm not going to compare this game to Bound in Blood because I have not played too much of it. But one of the main reasons I did not like this game was for your partners. You have to wait for them before you can move forward and their remarks to you are never changing. They shout unnecessary profanities constantly which makes you want to mute your game. It was ridiculous and quite annoying to hear you and your partners yelling constantly. Overall, the game was better than I expected but it still was not an overly well-made game.

I preorded this game and I waited awhile before it came out. I saw some previews on gamestop.com and the game wasn't at all what I expected the game isn't at what it seems. The characters you play as aren't western at all. You start out without any introduction as to what's going on and you get to only use the same couple of guns untill you unlock more. The gameplay is horrible. Don't waste money on a game that's about cops runing down gangmembers and following the other main characters without any free roam.

Please do yourself a favor and do not buy this game no matter how cheap it goes. This game has the worse graphics its like your playing a computer game on windows 98. The sound echos when people talk. The gameplay is ok but if you're like me you wont be able to get past all the flaws to enjoy this game. i will be going to trade this back in tomorrow so i can get the most money possible back. So again do not waste your money on buying or even renting this game!!!!!

ok first of all the game looks pretty good. buuut the one problem i am having with it so far is what the cover looks like. it's like mix between call of duty and red dead redemption. and i just realized that the game is a perfect mix of the 2 games call of duty, red dead redemption and grand theft auto. drugs and all that icky stuff from GTA the fps and gameplay from COD and the outlaw/cowboy stuff from RDR. give it some thought and don't shoot we down alright, just what i been thinkin.

Like many are thinking, looks like a red dead redemption copycat, but it could have it's plus sides. The call of Juarez series most be doing well over the years for another game to surface, but to make the setting at the same time period that red deads' set in for starters is ludicrous. I don't see it being possible for this game to be anywhere nearly as good as red dead but I'll wait to see what the fans say after launch.

This game looks like a rip off of Red Dead Redemption (How he hold the two barreled shotgun and the guy's getup) and the title seems like it's a rip of of Call of Duty (Just changing 'Duty' to 'Juarez')
This game doesn't really suit my taste because all they are doing is glorifying the violence of the Mexican drug war.
Most likely, not a title I would pick up.
