Game Informer Rating:

Rated 6.5 out of 10 by Game Informer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very well-made game. A fair warning about buying a game from bandai should always leave that impression that the words they say are going to sound a little... silly? But with that aside, the experience of the gameplay is excellent. It is NOT the type of game where you just pit them in a fight, it's a wide map that involves completing your mission with very few challenges. PvP holds that whole experience though. Other than that, the customization options are endless and you can be very creative with the type of AC you build. Would definitely recommend it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Mech Game. If you’re looking for a game that use bipedal-tanks (Mechs), and is a PvP game. Definitely a game to look into. My only problem is that the game doesn’t have enough detail in the sound effects.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for fans of the series i am a big fan of the armored core series. The multi-player is really fun, you can battle on teams, have a free-for-all, or hire other players to accompany you on missions. As always, it has tons of weapons and parts to buy. I especially like that you can go back and complete missions for money. One downside to the gameplay is the boosting. its reall hard to be one of the agile, aerial fighters in the previous games.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from 5 MPH Mechs Does any one remember the commercial for A.C.4? I would love to roll in a mech that moves faster than 5 MPH. Unfortunatly this is not the game to let you do that. This game reminds me of other disapointing mech games from Bandai. The setup is confusing and the game play is just sad. If you have never played Armored Core before I recomend playing this instalment first then checking out the previos A.C. games that are much better. It will be less disapointing that way. The other A.C. games are great and if this one was supposed to top them it failed completely.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great but Different = Love-Hate I will start out by saying I have been with the Amored Core series since Armored Core 2. I feel I must get it out there that, as people that have already bought the game know, this game is a little different. Yes, it is Armored Core in all of its mecha awesomeness, along with all of the customization that Armored Core has been known for bringing to the table, but serious fans will notice the mechs have been scalled down a little. That however is not where the changes stop. Experienced AC pilots will notice the changed control format along with the loss of many peoples favorit advantage FLIGHT, as well as a little loss in manuvarability but it only slows you down until you get used to the changes. Now I'm not gonna lie I only have around 6 hours of gameplay in so far but that has been enough to make me like the differences and the change in pace. Anyone who has played the most recent of games FOR ANSWER know that just being HEAVY is not enough. I have found that for my style a light weight and fast craft was best for my style alowing me not only to close the distance and fight but also to keep that distance when necisary because the gameplay over the yeas had developed into a fast paced flash of boosters and steel, and it was get faster or well to simply put it spend lots of time replaying that mission. I will admit I love the fast pace action of the last games, but this new set up has much to offer. I am noticing that its back to basics. BUILD, LOAD, and DESTROY, I love it. So with that said I would buy it and add it to the collection as a must have but keep an open mind that it will take some getting used to to get back to that super fast and agile style you once had. And for those who have always prefered a heavy, this is right up your ally. I have not yet had the pleasure of trying out the multiplayer function yet so I have no input on that part of the game.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from fun for people who don't complain about everything I've never played any Armored Core games until this one. My good friend recommended it to me a couple months ago and I decided to give it a shot. I thoroughly enjoy the game on almost every level. It's not perfect by any means, and there's a few bugs that need to be fixed, but a lot of the things people are complaining about are either non-existent, or they're just not paying attention while navigating the game. The graphics are good, but not great, but it more than makes up for it in game play. I've been playing in anywhere from 1-7 hours a day since it was released, and I am more than happy with my purchase. It certainly is not for everyone, but much like any game by From Software, if you know what you're getting yourself into, you should enjoy it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Game! If your into endless customization giant fighting robots, and pvp, then this game should be up you alley. My only problem with the game is that although there are little cut scene or movie scene its more of a narrator talking. If it was something like ace combat in between mission cut/movie scene i would have loved it. Either way its a great game.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Failsauce... --I was a major fan of the Armored Core series. I've played all the games and loved the difficulty, storyline, and depth of all of them. They all had something to offer. --As time went on, the games were provided more depth. I would have to say the tier 3 games were the best. They gave you more and more combat appeal(Exceed Orbit, dual wielding) not to mention the music was phenomenal. --When we got to Nexus and after, the concept of the arena diminished, therefore destroying a main aspect of the game. I would have to say 9breaker, Nexus, Last Rave, 4 and 4A were still great games however. ....Armored Core V? What is it exactly? Am I playing Call of Duty? I miss the steep learning curve the game used to offer(fan-based anti-newb filter) and how the games actually had great storylines. Armored Core V is a disgrace and only people who are new to gaming would enjoy it.
