Not as bad as they say
First off, i missed the first armored core games and intend to play them, this is the game i started off with in the armored core series. This game is not too hard, no where near it, i came in with absolutely no knowledge on what i was doing, and was fine (with the exception of a few levels that i had to repeat once or twice). It is fast paced, especially compared to the older armored cores (forget the one im playing now, not silent lines i know that) which are alot slower pace, which is probably where it kills it for the old timers for the series. At points you will question whats the point, nothing is even hitting me anymore, and then it feels too easy, at that point i just made a new AC and experimented with fits. You will find that this game offers a "lot" of customization, not infinite, but enough for 1 or 2 playthrough's. Story is, well it is here, just, you have to look for it in a sense. If you have issues, i would reccomend quick boosting more, not pointlessly, as the ai is smart enough to pin you down if you keep doing the same thing over again (least it did for me, surprised me the first time i noticed that). You have to Keep doing different things, if not, well, your a pretty big target. (also note, i tend to fly a light to medium build with machine guns optimized for boosting, as my form of quickly beating a mission unless it involves something big) It is definitely worth a look through, esp at 10 dollars, or 20 for that matter (to me it is worth about 30 to 40).

Don't Waste Your Money
First things first I am a hardcore armored core fan and this game does not give the preivious games justice. It says in depth customization and does not providde that. Levels are extremely hard and they don't give you enough ammo to complete them. And worst of all its one of my favorite series that they butcherd. I hope Armored Core Five doesn't dissapoint.

Maybe too Real
Been with the Armored Core title since the PSone days and always enjoyed the next incarnation.
This game however, perhaps strayed to far from its roots. The game is beautifully done and looks incredibly realistic, on par with a flight sim game like Ace Combat.
The customization is very in depth allowing you to make quite a war machine, even though a decent Core is almost always huge and bulky.
Even the movements of your Core is much more realistic and higher paced that the PSone and Two renditions.
Perhaps this realism is what kills this game. Looking at the idea of a giant robot as a practical means of warfare and not merely a giant bullet magnet is not for your every day gamer. The game is at times way too hard and you would need to be a "New Type" in order to not get hit by an endless barrage of attacks.
I bought it for collectible reasons, that's really all I have used it for I an sorry to say.
Pick up AC Silent Line that was the last most worthwhile one.

Waste of money
I don't even know why I thought I should buy this game in the first place. When you're going through the tutorial you think it might not be that bad of a game, and then you play the first level and you have to fight off like a million guys at once and they are all shooting at you, plus you can'tt even tell what the story is supposed to be about. Don't get this, there is no point to this game, it seems like they are trying to hard to be like transformers or something. STUPID!
