Ace Combat Assault Horizon
FINALLY THE GAME IS BACK ON PS3
I only have to say 2 words , THE BEST.... You wont find a better game out there.
Finally A Flight Sim that looks realistic!!!
I liked the other ace combat games, but i have to say that this one looks great. I hope each aircraft is designed down to the T with its realism capabilities and weapon systems. Im really pumped to fly The A-10 Thunderbolt, i hope that the gau-8 cannon is realistic. For example if there was a repaly mode and you saw the impact of the gau-8 cannon followed up by the signature hog snort canon sound effect. I already put a pre-order on it at my local gamestop. Can't wait. OH yeah i would like to see the c-130u spooky gunship as well.
New design for Ace Combat= A GAME TRULY REBORN
When I first heard they were redoing the game main mechanics like the new DFM(Dogfight Mode) I was a little concerned that this game was going to be set on rails. I am proud to say it isn't even close. This game is a lot of fun. The battles are intense in the skies with jets maneuvering, shooting missiles and blowing up into pieces. The visuals are outstanding and so is the gameplay. You do not have to use Dogfight Mode for every enemy, only on certain targets do you and these are not many in each level, some don't even have it. The story is epic and really good. The multiplayer is great with coop and competitive. Competitive is very intense and requires not only skill but teamwork. Coop is of course always a blast. You are also able to make your own skins for planes and use them in Single, Coop and Competitive which is epic. This game blew me away, my fears are no more. I recommend this game for any hardcore Ace Combat fan, like me(4,5 and Zero) and to any newcomers Welcome to Skies.
The Real Deal!!!
No disrespect to the Tom Clancy fans out there for the man has put out some fantastic material. But if HAWX was going to try and replace Ace Combat as the leading fighter simulator, we were all in for some big trouble....Thank goodness the masters at arms at Namco are following through with the next installment of the historic franchise of Ace Combat...Stunning, beautiful, action packed with great story-lines, Ace Combat is one of a few games that show the magic that is gaming...Thanks so much Namco for giving us something to actually look forward to!!!!!
Excited, but a bit worried.
I was torn when I was deciding whether I wanted a PS3 or 360. On one hand, I had a lot of reasons for a PS3. On the other, the 360 had Ace Combat 6. It was the only 360 exclusive I really cared about, but I made the sacrifice to PS3. Now, I'm very excited to have another PS3 release. However, a couple of things worry me slightly. One of which is the fact that the exclusive pre-order plane is the phantom, which is usually the first plane you can fly in any other ace combat game. The reason that worries me is that that might be signalling a mass of DLC enroute, which I don't like to pay for. I'm worried the game might not be whole and that we would have to pay even more for the content that should be in it from the start. Other worries I have are more petty, such as the game might be a little too easy with the new features they have added, but I can live with that for the most part. I already pre-ordered it and I'm looking forward to when it comes out next month!
New features while retaining the old gameplay
After many long years my wait is finally over. Since Ace Combat Zero, I havent gotten to touch a new Ace Combat, but after playing the demo for this one I must say I am happily surprised. Everyone saying that the controls are unrealistic obviously didn't check the settings and change the control style from "optimum" to "original". The game plays EXACTLY like the previous installments, but adds in some new features. The dogfight mode (DFM) is visually entertaining and has potential to become a difficult to master aspect of the game at the later stages. The game also provides the same 3 view modes as before, cockpit view, nose cam, and chase view. The cockpit view in this game, as well as every other ace combat is far superior to Hawx cockpit view because when you look back with the right stick you can actually see your wings outside instead of flying an invisible plane. The Attack Helicopter mode is one serious challenge for me. It is very difficult especially since your weapons payload is very limited. However, the gameplay and control style is very realistic. In all, this will be the number one flight simulator of the year and is going to definitely be worth picking up.
This game is better than you think
All the other revies say this game is bad, but if you try it, you might like it! give it a shot! I have played Ace Combat 4,5, and 6 And they were fun, but this I think is the best. TRY IT!!
Long live the king, baby
It's about time Namco developed an Ace Combat for the PS3, had to buy HAWX 1 & 2 to kill my jet sim jones. This is the king of the jet-combat simulators, always was & always be! In this new installment there's a twist, you get to use attack helicopters! Yeah, that's right you have the Apache & Black hawk helicopters! Make sure you go check out the game trailers, you're gonna love it. This new Ace combat game will be white-hot!!!
Only good thing is the graphics
I expected far better than what I got out of this game considering how much I loved Ace Combat 4. It has about the average replay value of a game of its type and awesome graphics. You get to fly aircraft you normally wouldn't in most games like these such as a B-2, B-1B, Apache, and Hind. That still doesn't compensate for all the problems in the game. The gameplay is horrible. The physics I felt are a bit too off. The dogfight mode is ok but you have to practically use it all the time to even shoot anyone down which greatly takes away from classic long range kill attack. Air Strike Mode also takes from the games as instead of having targets all over a large location to hit, they are preset in an optimum pathway taking away from the air to ground attack aspect of the game. The armament is lacking as you get only two weapons, standard missiles and another of your choosing. On top of the poor armament choice, even the better air to air missiles like the QAAM's from previous games suck. Possibly the thing that I hated the most was instead of making the bosses more evasive and aggressive like they did in previous Ace Combat's, they made it where you have to hit them with 20 missiles to kill them which makes for a long and EXTREMELY aggravating boss fight. Finally, even after beating the game you can't go back and use whatever aircraft you want which kind of makes it boring as you will find yourself using the same exact planes for each specific mission. I recommend staying away from this game as the problems outweigh what was done right.
FINAL ACE COMBAT 4 PS3 ALMOST WENT X-BOX CUASE OF ACE COMBAT 6!!!!!!!!!!!
