Victorious Boxers 2: Fighting Spirit
Victorious Boxers 2 is the best game I ever played ever their not robotic boxers like fight night.
Takamura vs Hawk
This game is the best hajime no ippo/fighting spirit game you will find in the u.s. The game has over 80 boxers from the anime/manga, and its a very challenging game on the harder difficulties. The only true problem I have with this game is the sound or lack there of, theres funky electro-esque music playing in the backgrounds but there's no voice acting like the game on the wii aside from the announcer. Even without much in the sound department the game is still great, the animation are a bit wonky at times and the game is fast paced, but some boxers have a special move that slows down time. Graphically the game is pretty good for a ps2 game as compared to games on the 360 or PS3 it doesnt hold a candle but its a decent looking 3D boxer that rivals fight night on ps2 in my opinion. The story mode is pretty long its goes up to like chapter 500 and something in the manga, so if you just watched the anime and never read the manga alot of these fights will be a warm welcoming to a fan of the show. This one doesnt feature all of the game modes that the japanese version offers in which they have a create a fighter to input into the world of hajime no ippo, but thats no big deal with 80 characters and friends who either enjoy boxing or the anime you should still have a great time playing this game. The 2 highlight fights of the game are Takamura vs Bryan Hawk and Date Eiji vs Ricardo Martinez, try fighting against those guys on hard. With all of this said i'd recommend this game to anyone looking for a fun boxing game at a very reasonable price.
