Rated 2 out of 10 by Grand Theft Auto IV Playstation 2 Rushed
I think that this game is far better on both Playstation 3 and XBox. So please don't take this as a review of ALL formats. Even Wii looks more challenging and entertaining. Very boring on Playstation2....too much running down halls. The monsters are easy to kill and the perspectives are difficult if not annoying. They add nothing to the game. The puzzles are incredibly easy and almost not worth having (the few that are in the game). By far the worst Tomb Raider on Playstation 2. It's like they dumbed down the PS3 and XBOX versions. By this ONLY AS A USED GAME for PS2 or for heavens sake, go back to Tomb Raider III and play it again. Don't waste your money. My son has an XBOX and I'm planning to trade this bomb for the XBOX version even though I'm not comfortable with the XBOX controls. Eidos should be ashamed of this one.

Seriously?! :O I don't get what most of you are talking about! This game is outstanding! Picture perfect. 10 out of 10! :D You get to freely roam around and explore just like a ROCK solid adventure game should have \m/ And like all Tomb Raider installments it presents somewhat of a challenge, but adds an original twist to it and steers towards something different ;) which in my opinion, makes it a whole lot more FUN!!!XD So don't believe all those negative reviews, and people claiming to be lifelong Lara fans because if they really are who they say they are, then they would be more open, not comparing and complaining, and not hating on this game! Gahh!! >.< If only closed minds came with closed mouths. I mean, when you go into something with a bad attitude, then you're going to have a bad time. Plain and simple! :)

I really love lara. BUT THIS GAME DIDN'T WORK OUT FOR ME. the controls sucked, you died if you jumped off a short cliff, the graphics really sucked. ii have been following her my whole life and she is my role model ilove her but sorry lara this game isn't your best i was really angry when i beat it. i was hoping it would be longer and harder. The producers of this game should ashmed of themselves!! i give this game 5 out of 10 stars sorry lara. but hey if they make another it has to be better. (btw the cutsencs look like burned dvd's which really made me mad!) ugh i just wanted a better tomb raider game. i got my hopes up and Crystal Dynamics let me down. hopefully next time they'll take more time out and plan it out in a better way. i love you lara but this isn't your best
Rated 3 out of 10 by MythFreak13 From a life-long fan...
I've grown up playing Lara and beat every game a few times each. So of course I was super hyped about the next in the series that was suppose to answer a lot of questions the last one left us off with along with getting chills from an interesting title like "Underworld" leads to what plots and landscapes would be next. Well...it did answer our questions...but that's about all it did to hold the name of a true Tomb Raider game. The graphics took a major step back, you only kill a handful of push-over enemies, 90% of your time is running down halls or on your bike down one way trails with no sense of adventure at all. This was more like an interactive movie than a game. With dozens of perfect openings for great old-school Lara beat-downs replaced with movies sucked half the fun out right there. Being a life-long Tomb Raider fan, knowing it's difficult puzzles, amazing landscapes, witty humor in characters and classic plot twists, I was highly disappointed in this game. Heck....Angel of Darkness was more interactive than this (and that's a whole other story of disappointment...) So unless you're playing and collecting as a fan, don't waste your money. I truely hope they can bring Lara back up to her previous glory as a respected title among gamers.
Rated 3 out of 10 by Alpha101 I Very Dissapointing Game
The game was very hard, as the gameplay was not smooth at all. I quit after playing the fourth level. It's that bad. The Nintendo DS version, how ever was better. I will also write a review for that. The PS2 version is a 3/10. The DS version is a 7/10.
Rated 0 out of 10 by FPSm4n A good solid adventure game
When Edios finally returned the tomb raider franchise to its former glory with the release of legend, it was a great day for gamers. The amount of action and adventure balanced perfectly with puzzles and platforming. After playing Tomb Raider Anniversary, a return to the twelve year old classic, I was convinced that the tomb raider franchise is on the right track and underworld will just make the series even better,....I can't wait!

I love Tomb Raider games but this one lacked what I love about them...fighting/shooting and flipping around. All you do in this one is run. Run down corridors, run around the house, run bla bla. There aren't even any bosses to fight. Also I don't know if it was just my game, but i found it difficult to control Lara. She was always jumping the wrong way or walking the wrong way and then she would fall off a cliff. Not cool Lara. Not cool.
Rated 4 out of 10 by Calla Could be better....
I was expecting it to be amazing since they put off releasing it for about 3 months. I just started playing it yesterday and I am highly disappointed. The controls are easy and very much like the ones in the other games. But if you are expecting this to be another Legend or Tomb Raider: Anniversary, it is not. First, you do not go around gathering supply & if your health gets low in about 3 seconds it fills up on its own. You get 2 guns and a grapple/some sticky bombs. You do not get the flashlight/ any of the other items you would have in the PC/PS3/XBOX360 games. The graphics aren't nearly as good as in the Legend & Anniversary game. I've played about 4 levels and only had to kill 5 or 6 things at the most. I watched youtube walkthroughs for the PC/XBOX game and if you think you're going to have little bats jumping out/great graphics and running through the rain-you have another thing coming. Basically, this game was rushed out and the makers only cared about how great it looked on the newer systems. Therefore, you will not all the features and you won't have sneaky little animals chasing you once you've pulled a lever/solved a puzzle like in the last games. I haven't run into any "bugs" so far, but it's almost like you're buying a walkthrough verison of the game. Lara's movements are limited--she can't do hand-to-hand combat like in the last games. The camera view is third-person, but sometimes moving the camera to view your surroundings can be difficult. Overall I give this about a 4 stars out of 10. Hopefully, if the makers come out with another Tomb Raider game they will give the PS2 game all the same freatures/better graphics that they did for the other systems.

Rated 4 out of 10 by metalgtx very disappointed
I have have played just about all the tomb raider games, and beaten all of them. So I'm used to a game that takes a long time to complete. But this one was too easy. I beat the whole thing in just about 4 days playing a few hours everyday. Where as with Legend and Anniversary it took me over a week or two to beat it and was far more addictive. I was expecting this whole big thing when I found out that Underworld was going to continue the story line of Legend. Then i started playing it and found out Anniversary was tied in to the mix i thought cool. But after a while i was like wow this is boring. The story line was way to short , the levels were way to short, and there were no boss guys like in Legend and Anniversary. Come on i was expecting at the end to fight Natlia or the Midgard Serpent or something else big after fighting a T-Rex in Anniversary and then there was nothing it was just a machine at the end. Also the interactive sequences where horrible for one u could barely see where you were going and then was nothing that promoted you what to do next or Lara falls to her doom. yeah the graphics looked more realistic but i think the previous ones were better. The only thing I liked was that she got some new moves but thats it no new equipment. Plus the whole health thing was bad. You didn't collect any thing it regenerated by its self and if you did fall from a high place you were dead instantly not that it took a big chunk of health. Also i was expecting that since it was delayed for so long that there would be more to it. It looks like they just wanted to get something out and thats it and just make it look good. hopefully they come out with another game in a few months to make up for this. One that is just as good as Legend and Anniversary. Because i was very disappointed with this game especially after waiting so long for it to finally come out for the PS2.
