Tomb Raider Anniversary - Used
I would recommend this game to the true TR fans.
All in all this game was pretty true to the original as far as the levels go. You are able to recognize each one, but a lot has changed. Some of the puzzles are more difficult than others, but thank goodness for the interwebs. :) The graphics were pretty good on the 360 compared to the PS2 version. There's a lot more shimmying, and some pointless obstacles, but what else is new? Controls aren't too bad, but there are some instances where you may get frustrated. There is a major glitch in the St. Francis's Folly level, within the Atlas room. My advice, get that one right the first time. Definitely worth playing at least once.
This game is extremely exciting and keeps you wanting to play it. Though there are some parts, such as the T-Rex parts which is a little out of the way, but that's tomb raider is about. This addition to long series lives up to its name and reputation. The producers a feel that you need to finish the game after a few choice parts where the story line really take off. Even when the story line takes off it's toward the beginning and I never wanted to stop playing. I recommend this game to any thrill seeker that love challenging, mind blow, action. The fact that the creators added creative ways that challenges an individuals intellect. The perfect next-story for Lara Croft to adventure through with you at the controls. The new feature take Lara to new levels not even imagined by my own thoughts that the creators use to amplify Lara and controlling her. I especially enjoyed the new actions the she is capable of, but to know how amazing this game is you have play it for your self and join in the adventures, because once you play one Tomb Raider game you will want play the next ones. That is exactly what happened to me.
This game really takes me back to 96 when I first played Tomb Raider on the Sega Saturn. That game wowed me more than anything I had ever seen before, and now TRA has done the same once again on the PS2. The graphics are absolutely amazing for a system that is rapidly aging. The puzzles in the game range from fairly easy to mind-numbingly difficult. Though some of them can get you frustrated, it never gets to a point where you would throw down the controller and quit. The experience of going to all of the various locations in the game is great. The combat on the other hand is just a so-so tack on. If that had been better implemented, I think this game would rank among the best PS2 games ever made, period. All in all, it is a fantastic game and I would highly recommend it to any fan of the adventure genre, of exploration, of puzzle solving, and definitely Lara fans!!
