Tiger Woods 09
Good For Ps2
For Ps2 this game is good. Now I will say that 09 and 10 are similar, but you have got to remember that these are the last Tiger games for the Ps2. So one of these days I am going to have to buy a Ps3, enjoy!!
Not So Bad
I've been a fan of the Tiger Woods franchise since the 2006 version came out. I was initially disappointed with the variety compared to previous versions...the lack of head-head play with the "fantasy" characters to rise to the top and the real time event calendar were faves of mine in the previous versions. If you're an on-line person, you'll miss that feature as well. I also didn't see much improvement in the way of sounds...still the same birds chirping, the annoying guy yelling "I love this game!" and the airplanes flying over head every 25 seconds. The upside to the sound is that it's pretty realistic sounding as well. On the other hand, the developers did add some cool content to this version. The EA cup challenge is cool, the cover stories are pretty cool, and the PGA tour is much more realistic. I didn't think the old versions adequately paid you for a win (I can remember a $4K pay check for a first place finish in 07). All in all this is a decent buy for the money. I also can see from a development point of view where the money is shifting toward the PS3 now.
No online support for ps2
Just a heads up for those considering buying the ps2 version. This 09 edition has no online support.I until now haven't been impressed with any ps3 EA sports titles, but Tiger woods 09 for the ps3 is absolutely excellent! Edit for the best golf game in years via ps3,or forty for the ps2 version with no online play, use your money wisely. If online support isn't a factor for you then the ps2 version will be enough for the casual or hard core golf fan looking to hit the greens on a sunday afternoon. It still plays excellent although graphically ofcourse,it draws no comparison to it's younger big brother the ps3.I just wanted in all to give the heads up regarding no ps2 online play due to the fact I myself would be pretty upset if I dished out forty dollars for a game only to get it home and realize it's not online.
This game has plenty of potential!
This game has potential but it needs to feel more tournament-like Live audiences on the sides of the golf course, live interviews, and when you play in tournaments you should have a playing partner. Please no fantasy golfers and golf courses. Other than that it should be great.
