An excellent collection of Neo Geo fighters
On my way home from a doctor visit, I stopped by a Gamestop nearby and picked up this game. I bought it, brought it home and took it out of the shrinkwrap. Took the game disc out of the case and put it into my Playstation 2. Immediately I was greeted by an anime style opening. I skipped it and pressed start and up came the menu where I could pick a game, configure the games difficulty level and more. I proceeded to play a few of the games. For the most part they are dead on from their Neo Geo counterparts, but Ive noticed a slight skipping in the framerate that lasts from a half a second from time to time. This could happen at anytime, and potentinally in game ruining a special combo you are trying to perform a move combo. Another thing that is really annoying and makes me impatient is the loading times. King of Fighters 94 isnt so bad but KOF 95-98 seem to have somewhat horrible load issues. It seems to get better after the game starts. Theres also a slight load between characters in some of the games where ive counted 2 seconds for a character switch. Finally there seems to be occasional bugs in the announcers in game where they say the wrong character name, or speech call, for example in King of Fighters 98 , instead of saying "Ready Go!" it says "Ready Perfect!". Aside from these imperfections there are objectives you must complete to unlock special artwork and soundtracks. Overall , I am not saying this game is bad, its just that it seems a little bit rushed, thats all. Probably for the die hard Neo Geo Fan, King of Fighters Fan, or the arcade junkie that just cant get enough of arcade games at home.

The Orochi Collection
I've played the import of this game and I have to say...WOW!!! 5 games in one disk! From King of Fighters 1994 to 1998. All of the games are fluid in controls and it looks and feels from the Neo-Geo and PS1 consoles. Again, it feels and looks the same. Even the music and characters alike are all coming back. This is a MUST HAVE for fans of the KOF series. If not, KOF Orochi Saga is a great fighting series where character rosters range from 25-35!! And much more to come!
