great game it's realy fun i have it still and it is fun.
I got this game when I was a little kid and I LOvED it!!! I don't know why I ever traded it in! I didn't get super far but it was really fun. I'm gonna get it again as soon as possible.
I have this game for the PC and it is amazing. The graphics are great, the storyline is awesome, not to mention you have to fight wolves, steal troll's wallets, and you get to explore a village. You can earn coins, do tasks for other villagers, and much much more. There are cute little minigames where you play hide and seek with some children, get an egg from a chicken coop without the chickens going crazy, knock apples out of a tree, and my favorite, collect berries from the berry farm/place. But it is challenging; you must collect as many berries as possible, but the owner of the farm will be walking throughout the maze, and you cannot be caught by him. This game is great if you love Lor Of The Rings and simulation games, I'd say its a great mix. I would buy it, it's worth the money.
(Note: This review is for the XBOX version, not sure it makes a diffrence) Have ever seen the trilogy The Lord of the Rings? This is the prelude that was a book like 80 years ago, and there’re making a movie sometime in the next couple of years. But, let’s just focus on the game. The Hobbit stars Bilbo Baggins, an adventure-hating little hobbit who is living comfortably in Hobbinton, until Gandalf the wizard appears and Bilbo must go on an adventure filled journey with Gandalf and the Dwarves. You travel to the dark, spider-infested forest of Mirkwood, encounter three huge, lumbering trolls, and fight in an intense battle for the treasure at the end of their journey! I probably haven’t explained the story well, and, in my opinion, nether does the game. So I suggest you read the book first. The game kind of plays out like The Legend of Zelda, but that doesn’t make it bad. Most of the time you’re performing tasks for people, which is sometimes fun. Combat is okay, the controls are fine, but it just feels a little awkward. Once you get to have the power of ‘The Ring’ you can turn invisible for a short period of time, which is very fun. The graphics are fine for an early-er Xbox title and, the music and voice acting are wonderful. As I stated before, the controls are fine, just a little awkward. There isn’t much replay value because there’s know reason for you to play again. In the end The Hobbit is worth a look for adventure game fans, fans of the book, or fans of the Lord of the Rings movies.
