I was very excited to get this game because i saw my cousin playing it on his X-box 360 and i was hoping to get it for PS3 but i found that they did not make it for ps3 but for X-box 360 PS2 and PC so i just bought it for ps2 and i was hoping to get a Ferrari on the game but was disappointed very quickly when i saw there were no Ferrari dealerships or bike dealerships. Along with a smaller variety of cars than the X-box 360 the PS2 edition had less vehicle customization options, on the ps2 you can choose from a small selection of colors while on the X-box 360 you can choose from thousands of colors. Another option that the ps2 doesn't have is odd jobs , character selection at the beginning of the game , and character customization. The last thing i have to say about the game is the smaller less important details like the Civilian cars and landscaping , because you can usually go through a small bush without getting stopped completely and the GPS it does show the fastest way to your destination but not the safest.
Rated 10 out of 10 by lamboeslamejor great game
This game is awesome. You can criuse around in almost any car you want to and not have to worry about getting in a cop chase. The graphics are great,it makes you feel like you're actually in Hamaii driving a $500,000 super car. It has a good soundtrack and engine sounds, and its just a great game. I love to just cruise around and drive to about 266mph in my koeniggsegg. They have all kinds of cars.Luxury, Tuners, Muscle, Exotic, Racing, anything. The races that are over 45 miles are super fun because if you or someone at the front crashes, everyone crashes, plus you can drive well over 230mph on those races. They have Alfa Romeo, Lamborghini, Pagani, McLaren, Koeniggsegg, Shelby, Dodge, Ford, Chevrolet, Volkswagen, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan, Audi, with legendary cars like the Lamborghini Miura, the Shelby Cobra and Cobra Daytona Coupe, and the Aston Martin DB4GT Zagato. It's one of my fav games.

Thousands of miles of open road thousands of vehicles to choose from not to mention the interior view is greatthese days its hard to find a good game that has a full interior graphics are really good despite what anyone says i personally am not much of a challenge type of gamer and the challenge on this is great its fun to I get bored of challenge after challenge after challenge in any game sometimes its fun to just get to roam the roads a bit mess around do what you want and this game has done an outstanding job the detail and sound of the cars is great the number of cars you get to buy and choose is awesome and the fact that you can buy motorcycles is awesome. I highly recommend this game for anyone who likes cars and wants good detail along with fun activities and missions

Don't waste your money on the PS2 version. Pros: Variety of vehicles to choose from. From Muscle cars to Supercars and they're accurately modeled. Nice open environment to drive in. Nicely done house interiors. Scenery is nice however it doesn't look as good as it does on the other consoles from what I gather. Cons: Controls are non changeable, your stuck with what the developer thought was the best controls. No Manual/automatic transmission mode. I prefer to shift gears instead of let the game choose the gears for me which it rarely gets right to begin with. Sometimes when trying to switch to reverse it takes multiple button taps since reverse is the same as brake. No damage although I understand why it wasn't put in. When hitting other vehicles sometimes it's like you've hit a small animal while other times like you've hit a brick wall. Some of the other cars in races are like brick walls and knock you off course when they hit you and some get thrown off themselves when hitting you. Even though the police cars are sedans it's like hitting a huge truck and 9 times out of ten you'll be arrested right after hitting one when running from another one since you've been thrown off the road. You can only change the paint color to other factory paint colors. Your stuck with sometimes ugly factory wheels. Rent the game before buying it and if you don't like it at least you won't feel like you got ripped off like I did when I purchased it from big box store.

TDU set the stage for widespread change in racing games, understanding that its a lifestyle...not just a game. TDU is a blast with challenges, races and goals that keep you interested and engaged. Epic challenges like the full island lap for $1million, to daunting hair spin, back roads with traffic. The cars are great, never has Ferrari, Koenigsegg, Maserati and Saleen been thrown in the same game. Awesome.
