Tekken Tag Tournament
Tekken Tag Tournament
Tekken Tag Tournament is an amazing game. Although it's not very challenging until you get to the final battle, this game is awsome. The graphics and anamations are fantastic, and this game was made in 1999. This game is very easy to control. You get to choose from over 30 characters. This game is team based fighting. But, you also can play 1 Vs.1. This game has many game modes including arcade, team battle mode, vs. mode, and there is even a bowling mode. In the bowling mode you pick 2 characters and you bowl with those 2 characters, and what makes it even more fun is that you can play tekken bowling with a friend. You an also use a multi-tap, so that 4 people can play together. There are also short cut-scenes for every character and you unlock them by completing arcade mode.!
One of my all-time favourites!
My family and I can play this game for hours; it's one of the games that connected us all and got us all going. I guess if you don't mind the youngsters playing a "violent" game, then it's perfect. There's no blood or any detailed gory images- no blood [besides the red sparks that tell you've hit your opponent], no broken bones [like in the newer Mortal Kombat game... S: ], and nothing really detailed to suggest a gruesome victory. The real challenge of this game is learning different moves on specific characters and utilising these against your opponents; the bigger challenge is learning your opponent's strategy and timing your attacks within their style. There are endless amounts of moves and combos you can master, then forget, then re-master and try it all over again. It's a fun, never-ending, and challenging game for anyone who wants to butt heads with no hardships. This game differs from the original series as it also incorporates the "tag team" aspect of it; you can choose two characters and switch between them during battle in order to win. It's fun to have this as you can sit out a character with low health, win two fights with your second character, then use that first character again as you gain a little health with each victory. It opens up more doors and leads to building teams that suit your needs perfectly. I personally believe the graphics are fantastic in this game. They're detailed enough not to overpower anything- such as the console which would result in long load screens and lots of lagging- but simple enough to be easy on the eyes although still interesting to look at. It's beautifully done in a very minimalistic manner- also, the different characters and outfits are superb! If you press different buttons while choosing characters- say you're choosing someone and press square instead of x- then you get different outfits. You can also press start, which is usually the "hidden" and "special" outfit of the character- sometimes you get the opposite persona of them as well. [Example- start on Devil gives you Angel. Start on Roger gives you Alex.] The music is beautifully done as well- it's upbeat, moving, and energetic all at the same time. It's very techno-based, but that's why it's upbeat and perfect for a fight. P: [Also, there are no explicit lyrics.] There are different things you can do in this game- arcade, survival, team battle, even bowling, and more! Cutscenes are also short, sweet, and to the point, so you can easily get a move on to the fun! Although a spin-off of the original series, this game is beautiful but not overpowering or extremely complicated, and is easy enough to get addicted to once getting started; I would recommend this game to everyone due to its simplistic nature which is hiding its powerful core. It's fun, exciting, and never-ending with the possibilities of what you can do. ( :
I just recently got this game many years now since it was released and I have to say it is simply put a great game. The game has held up great over the years and the TAG part of it adds a lot of fun. I do not need to mention most of the games replay is going to come from if you have friends you can play this game with so I will leave it at that. You get enough modes in this game and you can unlock some also. With over 30 characters in the game it adds a build of depth to give you enough to work with. Also gives you a lot of gameplay time to figure out who your favorite characters are. Controls are handled with the D-Pad for movement, X,Triangle, square and circle buttons respectively handle your attacks in coordination with your movements. Any one of the shoulder buttons will be used to tag your ally in. You can unlock movies, music by playing through the single player ARCADE mode. There is also 1 on 1 mode which lets you bypass the whole TAG portion of the game. One nice creative mode that was added into the game is the TEKKEN Bowl Mode which is simply helarious. You can bowl with any of the characters of your liking and its kind of funny to see some of these characters bowl. The game does not offer a lot of depth to the story and thats fine as this is a fighting game and I could care less. I just want to fight and bowl in this game and thats what it gives me. Overall = GREAT !
This was one of my first PS2 games. One of the games that I used to play for hours... I finished the entire game a few years ago and I still wasn't bored. Tekken is one of those old games that are so good that it's better than some new games. I recommend getting this if a PS2 is all you have.
THE BEST FIGHTING GAME EVER!
i used to play this game a long time ago and still love it.
Man, this is the game!!!!!!!!!!! I just bought this some months ago and I was surprised at the graphics and gameplay. If u like sitting down and just playin fightin games this is the best game u could ever get!! You definitely will NOT trade in this game!!!!!!!!!!!!
(if you have a Ps2) you need this game!
Ok, I bought this game from a gamestop a couple of months ago, (even though I only had experience with tag tournament and Tekken 2 which is for the PSone) along with a ps2 replacement. I really happened to find this game very addictive and unusual in a good way. In this time, you simply play, however it happens to be a 2 on 2 fight now, so you can switch between them, to prevent a ko. Good game, period. (I think a movie of this series is coming soon, however it is currently rated R.)
I didnt like this game at all.Unless you like tag team fighting,i prefer tekken 5 well over this.Unless i got a bad game ,as i brought it back, the graphics were choppy and looked like junk.I wouldnt recommend spending over 2.99 on this game ,lol..buy tekken 5 ,you be happier..lol
a little bit iffy
My personal game series is the tekken series which combine martial arts with street fighting and other stuff. Although it isn't the newest game in the series it has great game-play and the plot and story of it all is pure genius! I highly reccomend this game for ALL GAMERS!!!!! The graphics however could be iffy. It could get some blurred characters and you can see the little pixels in a level or two but I forever will love this game!
Great Game, a little hard to grasp
Great Game. Graphics OK. Game Mechanics are a little hard. For example, pressing -> and LK+RK will do something, but <- and LK+RK will do something completely different. This gets annoying very fast. But that’s my only gripe with the game. Other than that, the game is excellent!
