Rated 8 out of 10 by Star Wars FREAK! WHAT!!.....wait this isnt that bad..
Star Trek conquest is a game i will defenetly remember. This game has low numbers on almost everything yet i still like this game. This game is a strategy game (animated board game almost) so if you dont like strategy games then you should not even think about getting this game. It is basicly you just pick a certain race, each having a certain speciality and move in a board game like way. Even though they say the same thing every ten seconds and the game doesnt change when you play it, there is different ways you can play a move, instant, sim, and even arcade. Even though the game is annoying in everything, i find this game pretty fun. You have to like strategy games, enjoy star trek or stuff like that, and just want to relax and play a game that is action yet has no action at all and makes you think. If you apply to what i just said, you should get this game.

This game on the PS2 platform is for true Trek fans, even though the game solely relys on ship to ship or ship to structure combat, it is a thinking man's (woman) game, each race has it's strengths and weakness and the allocation of resources are very important, If you are a true Fan of Star Trek whatever time frame you will appreciate this game title. The controls are very similar to another Star Trek game and the Computer AI when on Hard mode is really tough you must, and I say again use stragetic thinking. The replay of this game is very high, If you need to occupy a few hours then this game will suffice and some. I have other Star Trek Titles such as Phasers on Frag, Shattered Universe, and others this title offers a style that causes you to actually think as well as react to what the opponents are attempting to do. Even though I have not yet unlocked all the races which I am crrently doing on Hard, this game provides a movie type feel for those with spouses to allow them to enjoy a movie feel if you will. And if you need to pause for a restroom break there are screens in which you can do so easily without fear of game freeze. This game is a steal and is needed to complete the current Star Trek game list on PS2 Platform. The only thing missing are the green women of Risa to dance for you :0

GI slammed this game! Honestly, I bought games with bad reviews from GI before, and regreted doing so.Every flaw in a game they pointed out I had to agree with. This is fun board game tactics, and turn based action, I usually went into arcade mode for engagements.I could play this game several times with different difficulty levels,as one of the several major galactic superpowers in the ST universe.I bought this game new a few years ago,Ive actually replayed it recently.Sadly I think its one of the best startrek games out on the market.

This game is a great game although some of my scores are rated bad. Cons- The game is made up of only 1 map but depending on how many enemies you put in it gets smaller. Image 6 shows the entire map. That is why I gave 4 to length. The storyline in this game I'm guessing is based on the t.v. show or movies of star trek. But I personally don't watch those shows. It also has a brief explanation of what is going on in the beginning that you must watch every time you turn the game on. It is only about a minute long but it just feels like a waste of time. The sound is another bad category. It gets very repetitive fast. They have the same person saying all the actions that happen on the main map and in battle you hear the sounds of lasers ever battle. Pros- The challenge in this game varies. Their are 3 different difficulty modes. Easy - Medium - Hard. But unfortunately them don't change the difficulty much. Just the amount of money you start with and if you play easy fog of war turns off. It doesn't show it in the map in image 6 but fog of war is their. It isn't a bad thing though. Depending on the base you build on the galaxy systems you have different units of range. ranging from you cant see anying from your base to 2 units away. Now back to the challenge ranking. As I said their are 3 difficulty modes that don't do much. The real challenge lies based on how many enemies you are facing. The easiest challenge you can get is playing a enemy 1 on 1 were winning is almost certain if you have a brain. And the most difficult challenge lies in playing hard mode, with all 5 enemies on while you are the federation which is right in the middle of all the others. So, its hard to even take over a galaxy system. The controls and interface are rated pretty good. The controls are easy to understand and this game is a great strategy game. The images of all the battles describe the game poorly. Most of the time I end up simulating the fights because it is so much faster. If you play every fight out it will take extremely long to finish the game. But it does allow you to save so don't worry about that. Check out the video it shows and that looks more like the battles. Now, this isn't a action packed game. Its more of a turn based strategy where you have the ability to research things to make ur units of buildings stronger. Also you earn money that can buy you 3 type of units. Scouts, Cruisers, or Deadnaughts. Each 1 of the 6 races give those ships different stats and build prices. And it just ends up coming down to buying units, simulating the battles, and taking over galaxys. Great strategy game.
