To me, this is sonic adventure 3.
Sonic heroes is a game that was released for the gamecube, xbox, and ps2, and it is amazing. the game's story is basic, sonic and freinds team up to find eggman and stop him from his evil plans but [spoiler alert] it was really metal sonic disguised the whole time. the story is okay but could have been better. now on to the game play, you play as 3 characters and you can choose from 4 teams, That's right everyone, no more searching for emeralds, or using a robot walker like the adventure games anymore, no more playing through all of those levels just to get to the sonic stages like in sonic adventure 2, and no more searching for sun and moon medals that are scattered everywere like in sonic unleashed. this is basicly like the classic sonic games, only in 3D, which means it's 14 zones with 2 acts and a boss fight, it's as simple as that, and it's perfect. no hub worlds, no looking for emeralds, no werehog stages, none of that, this is just like the classic games just in 3D like I said earlier. the zones are nice, and fun to play, my favorites are seaside hill, and Egg fleet. you basicly run through these zones as sonic, tails and knuckles, you switch between them by pressing different buttons, tails can lift sonic and knuckles and fly for a short time, and knuckles can punch through breakable walls. one thing that i noticed is the framerate on the ps2 version (30 fps) is a little diffrent from the gamecube version (60fps), but that's not a problem, I don't know why people complain about the ps2 version being 30 fps, guess what, sonic generations for ps3 runs at 30 fps and everyone was fine with it. anyway back to the game, it's amazing, everything looks beautiful for all systems, just with some minor framerate changes , but they coulden't help it, it's not easy to port a game from one system to another, sonic the hedgehog GBA alone proves my point. but this game still are great, weather you have a gamecube, xbox, or ps2 you should get this game, even now in 2013.
A bit of both
Sonic Heros is a good game. I liked how you can choose from four different teams, and how they'll each go on different levels, and have different story lines. But somewhere in the game, the teams will meet, and the story lines will clash. I thought that was cool. The voices and acting were good I guess. I found a few mistakes though. The graphics are about average. I thought it was kinda lame though how each team had three different character specialties such as fly, power, and speed. And especially how the flying players couldn't be alone. Like if you switched to Cream on team rose, then she would fly with all the other characters. I would have liked to play just cream alone. Although I guess it would be a necessity to get the other players around. I didn't think the game genre was very unique. Mostly the same as every other sonic game out there. Racing and sliding on rails. I would like to see a good adventure game (With Tikal in it XD). I guess I give this game a 6.5/10.
Not the best, but still good.
Sonic Heroes is a good game, but there are better ones. The main gameplay is Team-based, meaning you constantly switch between Speed, Power, and Fly types. Speed is the fastest, and has some useful special moves. Power type is for breaking things and fighting enemies. And Fly type, well, flies. You should know this.
There are four teams you can play as: Team Sonic(Sonic, Tails, Knuckles), Team Dark(Shadow, Rouge, E-123 Omega), Team Rose(Amy, Cream, Big), and Team Chaotix(Espio, Charmy, Vector). Each team has their own difficulty level. Rose is for beginners(They only play half of the level), Sonic is normal difficulty, Dark is a bit harder than Sonic, and Chaotix is ENTIRELY different. By that, I mean Chaotix does random missions(Find X, Destroy X, Don't be detected), as opposed to the usual "Get from A to B" gameplay.
The worst thing about this game is the camera. I can not tell you how many times you will fall to your death because of that wretched thing!
Most everything else is fine, though. How's the soundtrack? Decent, but can get annoying. How's the Voice acting? Everyone sounds fine, except for Tails, who must have had some sort of headcold during this game. This is also the last Sonic game with Ryan Drummond as Sonic, and David Humphrey as Shadow. But be aware, the dialouge is the most cheesy stuff you'll ever hear(We'll show that creep the REAL SUPER POWER OF TEAMWORK!)! All in all, it's a good game. I will say though, if you have a Gamecube or a Wii, get the GC version. If not, this will do just fine. Thanks for reading this review.
AWESOME. EXCELLENT. PURE SONIC.
I have currently played this game so many times. I have played and bought this game on the XBOX, Playstation 2 and GameCube. Obviously neither version has disappointed me. With over 100 emblems to collect and A ratings for almost 50 levels, you have TONS and TONS of things to complete. The music composition is a great touch to the game. Along with the lush environments and new 'fresh' areas. My favorite part about the game has got to be the BOSSES. I would usually play them over and over again. They were loads of fun! The only downside to this game were the graphics, awkward camera angles (which aren't a serious issue at all) and the fast movement of the characters. Anyway, if you are looking at this review or thinking or hesitating to buy this game, make up your mind by buying it. You will NOT be disappointed!
An amazing and unique sonic game!
This game is a new type of game and has worked successfully. The graphics are not too bad, and are sometimes really good, like in the intro. The game play is nice. Stick with the "speed" formation for effectiveness, "fly" for flights and stuns, and power for instant kill. I think the bosses were too easy, but aside from that, it was not bad. There are four teams, Dark, Sonic, Rose, and Chaotix. Dark has Shadow, Rouge, and Omega. Sonic has Sonic, Tails, and Knuckles. Rose has Amy, Cream, and Big. Chaotix has Charmy, Espio, and Vector. Each team has different difficulty and Chaotix has special missions. The Sound is nice, but voice acting and script was not very good. It has a nice replay value because you need all the emeralds for a special level. Shadow the Hedgehog is good too, but severely underrated.
Best of the Sonic collection
This game is better than Sonic DX and the new ones. Really get this game.
I have nothing else to say. It is just one of my favorite sonic games ever!
ahhh sonic the hedgehog. if it wasn't for him i wouldn't be into gaming as it is. sonic is a memorable character and this game is not only challenging, but fun too. i recommend this game to ANY sonic fan. as for his newer works, those make me sad :(
This is one of the best games ever made......
I bought this game a few years ago and I really liked it. It was a very good game because of the type of footage and gameplay. Specialy the footage in this game is AMAZING these are one of the factors that makes it so great... also in how the levels were designed. My favorite level is the Bullet Station. I wish they could remake it for PS3, but.... doesn't look like it. I will keep this game, one of the best game ever created......
Not a bad game
This game really brings out Sonic & friends to a whole new area, but it really needs some more excitement in it. It is a game for kids. I mean really, don't go buying a game that you don't like. With an E rating, you can tell already that it won't have much action/violents in it. But Sonic games never disapointed fans before.( Back all the when Sonic came out on the Sega Genisis, it's still good for all these years). With 4 teams (12 characters (3 characters per team) in all) SONIC HEROES is a pretty good game.
