Singstar 90's - Game Only
Not my favorite singstar
I had high hopes for this new Singstar, but the songs are not the best of the 90's- but rather just 90's songs. I still like the Pop version best. They need a 90's part 2 now- to pick up the rest of the better 90's songs. The best song on here is the R.E.M. song "Everybody hurts". It was hard to justify buying this for this one song. Other good songs include Survivor and that "I get knocked down" song by Chumba Wumba. I guess I wish Singstar games had double the selection of songs, because you get sick of the selection pretty quick. I guess this just keeps them Singstar folks coming out with new ones and making $$$. Overall, it needs to be said that I love the singing games for PS2. Any Singstaar game is a good thing, because the more song selections for the party the better. I also love that Singstar continues to list the songs on the back of the case, making it easy for song selections at parties.
Probably not US track list...
After recently being introduced to Singstar, I have been anticipating the next release. After seeing the set list here, I was pretty disappointed, especially since there are quite a few songs on there I'm not familiar with. So I looked into it a little more and this list is probably for a different country. Other sites have different songs listed for what is indicated as the "US Version", which seem to make more sense, to me at least. I also saw some info on a "Pop 2" version, but no release date was listed. I'm not going to write this version off quite yet, at least not until I have an actual copy in my hand and see what is REALLY going to be on it.
I don't think this is the tracklist
The tracklist that is listed here is for the foreign version of the game. From what I have seen of the singstar versions so far, it's been my understanding that the tracklistings are different for each country version of the game. The track listing that is listed here is of that in the European version of the game. I highly doubt it will be the same exact track listing. Check out the photos, I see no Vanilla Ice or color me bad. Overall it is a very good game and look forward to this title. All of these games are great at parties and get togethers.
excited but disappointed
I am really excited about this game is coming out, hoping to see a country version soon, but I agree with the other review as far as "This is the 5th game in the series and I am dissapointed that they are already recycling three songs from previous games. LoveShack, Creep, and Friday Im in Love, have all been in their previous collections. That means that 1/10 of the songs are recycled. Im not thrilled with the company for doing this. The 90's had plenty of songs to choose from." This indeed is very disappointing
To start off, I did enjoy the previous games even if I am not that great at them. The tracks I have seen for what they say is the US version are very upsetting and I think they should take a lot of them off since they were over played back in the 90's and you wouldn't get halfway through the song before quitting from the annoyance. I think they should really rethink the track listing before they release it, I don't mind waiting a little longer to see some better thought and quality go into the game.
recycling songs... shame
I have been a fan of the singstar series. It is great to have friends come over and makes for a great karaoke party. This is the 5th game in the series and I am dissapointed that they are already recycling three songs from previous games. LoveShack, Creep, and Friday Im in Love, have all been in their previous collections. That means that 1/10 of the songs are recycled. Im not thrilled with the company for doing this. The 90's had plenty of songs to choose from.
I hope these aren't the final song choices
Sounds like a lot of fun. But there were so many better songs out there in the 90s like Pink & Britney. And plus "Love Shack" is on SingStar ROCKS. And why are there different ones released in other countries. 'Cause some of those song are really good except some of the song are repeats.
